Taylor Swift’s Kanye West Recovery Uncovered On ‘VMAs: Revealed’

Find out how singer bounced back just in time for 2009 subway performance, in special airing Saturday at 11 a.m. By Mawuse Ziegbe Kanye West and Taylor Swift at the 2009 Video Music Awards Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ FilmMagic With one swift swipe of the mic, Kanye West went from just another tipsy rapper at an awards show to a pop-culture pariah at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards . Jaws dropped and boos were lobbed when Kanye infamously interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video, leaving behind a shell-shocked teen country starlet. Swift composed herself and gracefully left the stage but the experience was apparently as hard for the Grammy-winner to take as it was for viewers to watch. And to pile on the pressure, Swift was set to pull off a complex performance of “You Belong With Me” involving scores of extras raging through a New York City subway station just minutes after the onstage debacle. In addition to her preternatural professionalism, Swift had a secret weapon to help her through the set: her fans. “The fans behind her were going crazy,” choreographer Danielle Flora recalls in the special “The VMAs: Revealed – Presented by New 5 React Gum,” which premieres Saturday at 11 a.m. Dancer Keltie Colleen agreed: “It was like they were her army.” Eventually, it all worked out. Rooney Mara Lands Lead In ‘Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’

The new Lisbeth Salander also stars in David Fincher’s upcoming ‘Social Network.’ By Eric Ditzian Rooney Mara Photo: Merrick Morton The search for Lisbeth Salander is over. Rooney Mara (“A Nightmare on Elm Street”) has been cast as the motorcycle-driving computer hacker in “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,” David Fincher’s upcoming adaptation of the best-selling Swedish crime thriller, according to a Sony press release. Mara nabbed the highly sought-after role following an exhaustive search said to include names like Natalie Portman, Kristen Stewart, Carey Mulligan, Ellen Page and Mia Wasikowska. Late last month, Mara, who stars in Fincher’s “Social Network,” was reportedly contending with four other actresses for the part. Now, Salander officially belongs to Mara. She’ll be joined by Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomkvist , the disgraced journalist who is hired to investigate a decades-old missing-persons case and convinces Salander to assist the search. Based on the first of Salander Larsson’s three “Millennium” novels, the film will reportedly co-star Robin Wright as Erika Berger (Blomkvist’s business partner and occasional lover) and Stellan Skarsg

Where Would ‘Bad Romance’ Rank Among the Greatest ‘VMA Video of the Year’ Winners?

Yesterday, MTV tried to wake us up early with its 2010 Video Music Awards nominations . Didn’t happen. But with 13 nominations, Lady Gaga just broke the record for “most nominated female solo artist in a single year.” Way fancy. Since “Bad Romance” is this year’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” — garnering 257 million YouTube views — we can assume it’ll win Video of the Year. But where will it rank among all other Videos of the Year? Or better yet: Does it even deserve to be mentioned with the other winners? Join us for the historical rankings!

8 Ways Grey’s Anatomy Perpetuated Season-Finale Cliches

Here at Movieline HQ, all anyone can talk about today — besides the suicide-worthy Liza Minnelli “Single Ladies” cover — is the season finale of Grey’s Anatomy . Did you see this thing? For the uninitiated — or for those of you who stopped watching long ago — the hospital was under attack from a crazed gunman who wanted to exact some revenge on McDreamy and his cohorts because they pulled the plug on his brain-dead wife. (Never mind that pesky DNR form.) And what revenge it was: Shocking deaths, many shootings, fake blood by the gallons and more cliches than most series pack into an entire season. Aspiring screenwriters, grab a pencil and take some notes. After the jump, a list of the offenses.

Watch: 7 year old girls dance to a raunchy number

A very controversial video of 7 year old girls dancing to the tune of Grammy Award Winning “Single Ladies” by Beyonce Knowles alarms parents who thinks that the kid’s outfits went too sexy and skimpy that it looks very inappropriate for their age. The dance troupe, called Precision Dance, hails from Orange County, and definitely “put a ring on it” during the competition in Pomona on April 10. The girls are wearing bikini tops and hot pants while they bump, grind, and gyrate, lip-syncing “If you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it.” Larry Peters, executive vice president of The Hozman Group and rep for the dance competition, says the controversy was blown out of proportion. “There has been a great deal of controversy regarding this performance, and it has been taken out of context. It is a little sensitive now, to say the least,” Peters said. “All the dance troupes do so many different dances, it is a very personal choreography and expression for every troupe and individual. These girls were amazing that day,” Peters says, adding, “They were two minutes of an eight hour performance event.” Melissa Presch, the mom of one little dancer and Cory Miller, the father of another child in the group spoke to Inside Edition about the controversy. “I’m shocked, quite frankly, that people would suggest such things and say such things about 8 and 9 year old girls,” said Melissa Presch claiming the girls got their moves from the ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel’ movie — not Beyonce’s music video. Miller added, “As a father, when you’re watching your kid, no. You’re looking at it as a proud kid who has really high energy, who doesn’t really know what she’s doing.” Peters was in the audience during the group’s performance and admits, “It was the very first WOD event I had ever attended, and I can tell you the cheering and screaming you heard on the video was from other parents and dance teams that were just blown away by their dance performance and precision. There was NOTHING provocative about what they were doing.” Now, you can admit these girls certainly can dance, but is it age appropriate? You be the judge.
