Britney Spears May Release Ke$ha-Penned Track As Next Single

‘Till The World Ends’ expected out sometime next week. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears Photo: Jeremy Cowart/ WireImage Slowly but surely, fans are getting a taste of what Britney Spears’ March 29 album release, Femme Fatale, will sound like. On Wednesday, Spears slowed things down with the tease for her track “Criminal” and psyched fans up with the news that she worked with Travis Barker on the album. Fans are speculating that the next single released will be the Ke$ha-penned track, “Till the World Ends.” Art for the single’s cover, in which Spears appears sitting on a couch in a sweater and heels, was posted at Deezer.com . A 30-second snippet of the song appeared on Amazon.de , which indicates that the single will be available on March 11. The track sounds like a fist-pumping anthem, and the sample showcases Spears’ electronically enhanced vocals going “Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh.” The single will reportedly drop sometime next week, according to a tweet sent out by Tampa radio station 93.3 FM. “Hearing from Jive Records that we’ll have a new @BritneySpears single to play next week!” Ke$ha recently dished about the track to Spin.com , noting that the song is about the power of an artist performing a great gig. “That song is me imagining her and any female musician touring the world,” she says. “You know, when you go out, and you’re having an amazing, magical night and you don’t want to go to sleep and you want it to last until the world ends.” Spears’ longtime manager Larry Rudolph recently told MTV News that he’s super-excited about the next single off Femme Fatale . “I don’t think I’ve been this excited about releasing a Britney single in many, many years,” he said. “It’s that good. That’s all I’m gonna say about it at the moment. I haven’t heard a final mix of it, but I should get it in the next day or two. So far, what I’ve heard is just extraordinary. It really is amazing. Her fans will be very happy with it. I’m trying hard to get it out before the album comes out.” For those keeping count, it’s not the first time Ke$ha and Spears have worked together. Ke$ha appeared on the Circus song “Lace and Leather.” “I just did backgrounds for her ’cause I was so broke. I needed to pay my rent,” she shared back in 2009. “I got a few bucks. No, [I didn’t meet her]. I just did backups for her.” Related Videos MTV First: Britney Spears’ ‘Hold It Against Me’ Premiere Related Photos Britney Spears’ ‘Hold It Against Me’ Pop-Culture References Related Artists Britney Spears Ke$ha

Middle Class Rut Defy Death In ‘New Low’ Video

Rock duo joke to MTV News that surviving execution in clip parallels their ’15 years of playing music.’ By Aly Semigran, with reporting by Ade Mangum Middle Class Rut Photo: MTV News Middle Class Rut are not only a hard-rocking band — their no-holds-barred sound has drawn comparisons to Rage Against the Machine and Deftones — but also one determined to push the envelope thanks to an anxiety-inducing video for their single “New Low.” Just before being named MTV’s Push Artist of the Week , Middle Class Rut sat down with MTV News to discuss the video, a mini-movie of sorts which features bandmates Zack Lopez and Sean Stockham suffering various executions — ranging from a hanging to a firing squad — none of which actually result in death. “It’s funny, that song, when we wrote it, it was nothing like we’d ever done before,” Stockham explained of the single from their return-to-rock-roots debut album, No Name No Color. “Normally, it’s like, me hitting loud drums and [Lopez] hitting loud guitar and {both of] us screaming over it.” The track is “a total departure,” as Stockham put it, for the duo, and they wanted to stretch the limits with the video as well. “We didn’t want to do just a performance video. We wanted to do something different.” After recruiting a friend who “came up with something pretty cool,” Stockham and Lopez found something oddly familiar about the idea narrowly escaping death. Stockham explained, “I mean, the idea of going from one execution scenario to the next without actually ever dying? That sounded like our 15 years of playing music.” What do you think of Middle Class Rut’s video for “New Low”? Related Artists Middle Class Rut

Adam Young Remixes Enchanted: Listen Now!

Dear Adam Young and Taylor Swift: just hook up already! Earlier this week, the Owl City singer responded to Swift basing the single “Enchanted” on a meeting between these artists. On a blog entry, he referred to Taylor as ” a true princess ,” adding that she’s wonderful, beautiful elegant… and many other nice things. Writing that he “couldn’t stop smiling” over Swift’s ode to him, Young also recorded his own version of “Enchanted,” adding the lines: I was never in love with someone else/I never had somebody waiting on me/’Cause you were all of my dreams come true/And I just wish you knew/Taylor I was so in love with you. Lady Gaga Launches ‘Born This Way’ Countdown Clock

Single is set to premiere on February 13, same night Gaga will perform at Grammys. By James Montgomery Lady Gaga Photo: David Wolff-Patrick/ Getty Images The countdown is officially under way. On Sunday, having already teased fans with fashion-show promos and borderline terrifying short films, Lady Gaga took the next step in the march toward her Born This Way album, when she posted a rapidly descending countdown clock on her website . What that clock is counting down to, of course, is the release of BTW ‘s first single (which just so happens to be the album’s title track), currently scheduled for Sunday, February 13 — the same night Gaga will perform at the Grammy Awards . So far, more than 43,000 Gaga fans have RSVP’d for the event through Facebook. That countdown clock isn’t the only bit of Born This Way -related news to sprout up in recent days. On Monday (January 24), Gaga fans were treated to a new promo image and some news about the “Born This Way” video. Monday morning, Gaga fansites began posting a new image , supposedly taken from a promo shoot, either for the album or the single. In the photo, a nude Gaga — or someone who looks very much like her — is looking skyward, black liquid pouring from her mouth, hair enveloping her body. Both of her fists are clenched, and on each finger she wears a ring with a different precious stone in the setting. A similar stone-covered piece appears to be stuck to her chest. But is the new image actually legit? When contacted by MTV News, a spokesperson for Lady Gaga’s management would only say it’s “not from [the] BTW shoot,” though again, it’s not clear whether the spokesperson was referring to the album or the single. As for the video, Gaga’s fashion director (and Thierry Mugler creative director) Nicola Formichetti took to his Twitter account to hype the clip, writing, “Ok kids, get ready for BTW. We’ve just created the most amazing thing ever.” Related Artists Lady Gaga
