Abercrombie & Fitch is trying to end their ongoing feud with Jersey Shore star The Situation, asking a judge to dismiss his lawsuit against the clothing retailer. If you recall, the ongoing war between Sitch and A&F began back in August when A&F publicly offered to pay The Situation NOT to wear its overpriced duds. A month later, Sitch (real name Mike Sorrentino) sued them, claiming it ripped off his “GTL” and “Situation” trademarks on a line of guido-mocking t-shirts. Now, A&F is trying to put an end to the back-and-forth, claiming he had no right to sue them in the first place because he doesn’t own those very trademarks. He has applied for them, but doesn’t own them. Big, legal difference there. Moreover, A&F claims The Situation’s application for “Gym Tan Laundry” has actually been suspended, because MTV already owns “Gym Tanning Laundry.” The US Patent & Trademark Office thinks they’re too similar. Makes sense. Trademarks aside, A&F insists its shirts are still protected under a law that allows parody as free speech … in other words, the shirts are a harmless joke. This year, Snooki traveled the globe with her “Shore” pals, taking their visa-revoking-worthy antics to Italy. Come 2012, the crew will be back home in Seaside Heights , where they’ll once again GTL their way through parties and drama for season five of the hit MTV show. Snooki also appears in the highly anticipated “Three Stooges” flick , due in the spring. Sure, it’s hard not to love everyone on “Jersey Shore,” but in 2011, Snooki proved she’s more than just a small-screen sensation. She became an author, pistachio spokesperson and mini-mogul, putting her name on a variety of products ranging from slippers to perfume. MTV News got on the phone with Snooki on Friday (December 9) to talk about her whirlwind 12 months. MTV : You landed at #3 on our list of favorite TV characters! As you reflect back on 2011, what was your favorite moment? Snooki : Oh, cool! Great! I would probably say Wrestlemania [back in March]. It was really fun to be in the ring and just doing back flips. See our Top 50 TV Characters of 2011, 40 to 31, including a “hootie hoo!”-hollering chef and funnyman talk-show host. MTV : We are very close to the next season of “Jersey Shore.” The trailer came out this week, and there’s a lot of crazy stuff in there. What was your reaction to the trailer? Snooki : Kind of like with every season, just memories. They’re gonna be excited to see us back in Seaside. MTV : Watching the trailer, there seems to be some situations between you and the Situation. Can you talk a little bit about what’s happening between the two of you? Snooki : We can’t really give it away; it’s just our relationship and how it progresses, whether it be really good or really bad [with the Situation]. MTV : As we look forward to 2012, what are you most looking forward to in the next phase of your life? Snooki : I’m just really excited about my brand and all my products that are coming out. MTV : When the “Three Stooges” trailer came out this week, “Shore” fans were surprised to see you and JWoww at the end. Can you talk about your part in the film? Snooki : We’re pretty much playing ourselves, like what you see on “Jersey Shore.” So it was pretty easy just to be yourself. I definitely want to do more movies like that. We [Snooki and her “Jersey Shore” castmates] went to L.A. for four days. I’ve seen [the original], when it was in black-and-white and stuff like that. It was fun to be on set. Film bloggers and pundits and awards season watchers have pecked this David Denby-Scott Rudin exchange to death with no clear consensus or solution, but one player in the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo kerfuffle has a solution. “If it were up to me, I wouldn’t show movies to anybody before they were released,” director David Fincher told the Miami Herald. “…If I had my way, the New York Film Critics Circle would not have seen this movie and then we would not be in this situation.” More wishful thinking from Fincher after the jump!
‘He’s gonna be here forever and I’m gonna be here forever,’ Wiz tells MTV News of Juicy J signing. With a rowdy rap catalog that includes the hits “Tear da Club Up,” “Sippin’ on Some Syrup” and “Stay Fly,” Three 6 has grown to become one of hip-hop’s most iconic groups. And the Pittsburgh hitmaker will be working with the Mafia’s Juicy J closely now that he has signed him to his Taylor Gang label. “Yeah that’s official, that’s good to go,” Khalifa confirmed with MTV News on Wednesday night before he took the stage with Snoop Dogg at Terminal 5 in New York. Juice, who just released his latest mixtape, Blue Dream & Lean, on November 29, revealed the signing during an interview with Hood Rich Radio. “Juicy J is now with Taylor Gang, we goin’ in this year, man. 2012, we goin’ in,” he said. Longtime Taylor Gang artist Chevy Woods is looking forward to adding the rapper/producer to the crew. “It’s fun for me, because I really just sit back and watch,” he told MTV News. “[Wiz is] always doin’ somethin’ different.” For Wiz, this is an opportunity to link up with an artist that he has looked up to for a long time. “Well, I’ve always been a huge fan of Juicy J and Three 6 Mafia and what they brought to the game,” he said. “As far as their music, as far as their consistency, as far as just if you’re in that mood and you know what you wanna hear, they brought it and I respected that. And they brought it for years, since I was young.” “I remember when ‘Tear da Club Up’ first came out and I remember when ‘Stay Fly’ came out, and those are two huge songs from the same group of people who never fell off or lost it at all. Castmates return to New Jersey after Italian vacation for the new season, which premieres January 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. By James Dinh “Jersey Shore” castmates celebrate their return to Seaside Photo: MTV After spending some fish-out-of-water time across the pond in Italy, the “Jersey Shore” gang is heading back to their Seaside Heights stomping ground for the fifth installment of the MTV series , premiering Thursday, January 5, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. And after a quick glimpse at the just-released trailer , it appears as if the GTL crew is ready for tons of partying, booze and, of course, drama. “Shore” is expected to pick things up where the season-four installment ended, as the eight housemates bid farewell to Florence, Italy, and prepare for their New Jersey return. In the two-minute teaser, the fist-pumping crew toasts to yet another crazy summer and is later greeted to what looks like a surprise welcome-home party. “We’re back in our habitat and I’m ready to tear the speakers off this joint,” Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino yells. Despite Snooki and Deena’s meatball escapades, the usual club dance battles and pranks galore, it isn’t all fun times for the gang — especially when Vinny decides to depart the Seaside Heights house. “This is real. This is a reality right here. Vinny’s out of here,” Pauly D says during a confessional after his castmate’s departure. As teased during the previous season, the battle between Snooki and the Situation shows no signs of slowing down. With his badgering comments about the pint-size guidette’s boyfriend, the Situation doesn’t appear apologetic about playing the part of an instigator, saying, “I do have that secret and I’m blowing it wide open.” While one scene depicts the two castmates in the middle of a food fight, another scene shows the Snookster swatting a plastic baseball bat at the womanizer. MTV News caught up with Deena earlier this year, who spoke about her time back in the States. “All of us became so close,” she said of their European vacation. “So here, it really was like we were brothers and sisters. You get annoyed with each other, then you’re fine. But you’ll see, we had a lot of fun in Jersey; we had so much fun. Former Miss USA Rima Fakih got arrested for DUI the other night. The 26-year-old, who became the first Miss USA of Arabian descent when she captured the crown in 2010, then managed to keep it despite controversy over some pole dancing pics , faces drunken driving charges after a weekend bust in Highland Park, Mich. Rima Fakih Tweeted Saturday: “Let’s clear things up now. … I’m NOT in Michigan and I’m NOT in jail! Wrong Fakih.” But … it sort of looks like that was the right Fakih. The post has since been removed, and on Sunday her attorney Doraid Elder confirmed the arrest , noting that her record “has not a single blemish,” other than this and that Rima is “very saddened and very apologetic for the situation that she’s in.” Police offered no additional details of the arrest. The stunning beauty queen appeared to be in good spirits today however, Tweeting: “A long run always gets me energized! Its time to make football Sunday food.”

Earlier today, the former Teen Mom star randomly Tweeted her reaction to Kourtney Kardashian’s second pregnancy , writing: Im shocked Kourtney Kardashian is pregnant again, Did she not learn anything from TEEN MOM? Maybe its a fake pregnancy, like kims wedding SAD . Kourtney, in response, pointed out one of the major differences between her situation and that of Farrah and her MTV co-stars, Tweeting “I’m 32 years old! I may look young, honey, but don’t get it twisted.” Kardashian, of course, is also a multi-millionaire with a large support system… and that’s before you consider E! producers! Scott Disick also jumped in to this Tweet-off, referring to Abraham as “some s-it stain” and echoing his girlfriend’s stance: “We’re not teenagers, ya f-cking moron.” But Farrah was not to be denied! When we first met this young lady, we would have never pegged her as one to end up with this much ink on her. Since then she’s toured the world with two urban pop-ish groups masterminded by the same man. Can you guess who this is? That is Dawn Richard in the pages of Edge Magazine, getting her flex on now that she’s broken free of Diddy’s chains her first solo album, Golden Hear, is in the works. Of course she geared up for it with the release of her Tell Tale Hear mixtape last year. And she talked to Edge about what that project meant. “I wanted people to literally fall into my heart. WTF is goin’ on?!?! Hours after announcing she had filed for divorce from megachurch pastor Bishop Eddie Long, his wife, Vanessa, issued a statement Friday saying she had withdrawn her petition. Vanessa Long had issued a statement early Friday morning saying that she had filed for divorce Thursday from Long, the pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church. By early afternoon, she had a change of heart. “Upon prayerful reflection, I have reconsidered and plan to withdraw my petition for divorce from my husband, Bishop Eddie L. Long,” she said in an emailed statement bearing the New Birth logo. “I love my husband. I believe in him and admire his strength and courage.” She went on to blame “years of attacks in the media” for her initial decision to seek a divorce.
