A publicist for the Wham! frontman has confirmed that he “passed away peacefully”, in his sleep today at his Oxfordshire, England home. “It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period,” said the publicist. Baltimore Teacher Arrested For Breaking 7-Year-Old’s Jaw Travon Grayson, 7-year-old elementary student , has been hospitalized after an educator allegedly assaulted the boy while he was walking to the office for disciplinary reasons at the end of the school day earlier this week. According to WBLATV , Timothy Randall Korr has been charged with felony first- and second-degree child abuse, felony first- and misdemeanor second-degree assault, misdemeanor reckless endangerment and misdemeanor neglect of a minor. Travon’s mother spoke about the incident and said this… “My son told me that (Korr) threw my son into a wall,” Jackson said. “My son had dreams about it all last night. He’s still shaking in his sleep, saying that he keeps having visions of (Korr) throwing him into a wall.” Jackson said the tutor was escorting Travon to the main office for disciplinary reasons at the end of the school day on Monday, but they never made it to the office. Jackson said that when she got to the school, Travon was in an ambulance and crying. She said the teacher was also there with Travon’s blood on his clothes. Baltimore police officers say detectives responded to the elementary school where they viewed video footage which captured the incident. Mariah Carey Made James Packer Sleep In A Separate Bed Besides demanding $50 million for being inconvenienced by her love affair with James Packer, Mariah Carey is also claiming the billionaire must be out of his mind with claims she was messing with her choreographer Brian Tanaka because she doesn’t have sex outside of marriage. TMZ is reporting that sources close to Mariah say any talk of her relationship with Tanaka being sexual is completely false and that Mariah’s serious about her rep as a “traditional girl.” She even refused to sleep with Packer during their relationship, maintaining separate rooms when they stayed on his yacht and each of their homes. The sources say part of the reason Packer was so eager to marry Mariah was that, while they made out and were intimate in other ways, he was being denied sex. SMH. No wonder this isht ain’t work. His ol’ goofy butt had to put up with Mariah while being sexually frustrated… On another note, there have been a lot of speculation that the breakup could be a ploy to help promote Mariah’s upcoming E! reality series, but Gossip Cop reports claim the breakup is actually putting the show in jeopardy because the series had a whole storyline built around the pair’s wedding plans. Now that the engagement is off, E! is “freaking out,” a source exclusively tells Gossip Cop. Mariah’s camp is also said to be in a panic… The show is slated to premiere December 4th. A father of four, Michael Sabbie, died in a Texas jail after being beaten, pepper sprayed, piled on top of, and hit on camera. In the disturbing video, you can hear and see Sabbie pleading with the police to help him saying he “can’t breathe.” The medical report of Sabbie’s death suggested he died in his sleep of natural causes, but since this video has been released a new investigation is sure to follow. HUFFPO : The basic details of Sabbie’s death, one of more than 800 jail deaths counted by The Huffington Post in the year after Sandra Bland died in jail on July 13, 2015, wouldn’t normally raise much suspicion. The initial news reports said that Sabbie, who was arrested on a domestic assault charge, was found “unresponsive” on the morning of July 22, 2015, suggesting he died in his sleep. A medical examiner ― noting Sabbie’s obesity and that he had significant heart muscle damage ― deemed his death “natural,” a label that implies it was an unavoidable tragedy. Those circumstances wouldn’t make Sabbie’s death terribly unique: Heart disease killed an average of 226 jail inmates a year from 2000 until 2013, making it the leading cause of jail deaths after suicides. But calling Sabbie’s death “natural” obscures more than it illuminates, and would hide the failures that very likely could have prevented his death. A quick internal investigation might have absolved jail employees of any wrongdoing. But in Sabbie’s case, there’s video, including handheld footage filmed by one of the guards. The video is being published here by The Huffington Post for the first time. “If you just looked at the cause of death, you would think that Michael died of some sort of hypertensive heart condition, and that may be true,” said Erik J. Heipt, one of the attorneys representing the Sabbie family. “But if we didn’t have a video, we’d never know that he had been begging for help due to his shortness of breath and inability to breathe. We’d never know that he said ‘I can’t breathe’ 19 times in the nine minutes that we hear in that video.” Sabbie was arrested on July 19, 2015, after getting into an argument with his wife over money, according to a police report. Sabbie’s wife told an officer that he threatened her before getting out of the car and walking away. Another officer located Sabbie, who denied threatening his wife. Due to the alleged threat, Sabbie was arrested for third-degree assault on a household or family member, a misdemeanor. Sabbie was taken to the Bi State Jail, a facility with 164 beds that housed 134 individuals as of this week. The for-profit company LaSalle Corrections has run the facility since 2013, when a previous company backed out because it reportedly could not turn a profit. Governments pay just $39.50 per day to house inmates at the Bi State lockup and $46.50 per day to place them at the Bowie County facility, a nearby facility LaSalle Corrections also runs. (The company that backed out of the previous contract submitted a competing bid of $56.25 per inmate per day.) Under the contract with Bowie County, LaSalle Corrections absorbs the cost of medical services and also indemnifies the county against any claims from inmates or their families. Patton Oswalt took home the Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special on Sunday night. And while the win hasn’t garnered the sort of attention for Oswalt as such surprising (and deserving) victories by Rami Malek and Tatiana Maslany, the comedian is now making headlines for what he said after taking home the trophy. First, on stage, Oswalt said the following toward the end of his acceptance speech: “I want to share this with two people: One of them is my daughter, Alice, waiting at home. The other one is waiting somewhere else – I hope.” That’s a pretty amazing line. In late April, Michelle McNamara died in her sleep in the home she shared with Oswalt. The author was 46 years old, married Oswalt in 2005 and gave birth to the couple’s only child in 2009. Since McNamara’s tragic passing, Oswalt has taken the time on a couple of occasions to openly mourn his late wife. “Depression is the tallest kid in the 4th grade, dinging rubber bands off the back of your head and feeling safe on the playground, knowing that no teacher is coming to help you,” he wrote on Facebook in August He then contrasted this feeling with grief . “But grief? Grief is Jason Statham holding that 4th grade bully’s head in a toilet and then f-cking the teacher you’ve got a crush on in front of the class… “Grief makes depression cower behind you and apologize for being such a dick.” Oswalt wrote those words 102 days after McNamara passed away. “I was face-down and frozen for weeks,” he wrote of how he felt when he first lost his wife. “It’s 102 days later and I can confidently say I have reached a point where I’m crawling. Which, objectively, is an improvement. Maybe 102 days later I’ll be walking.” Following his win on Sunday night and his acceptance speech, Oswalt was asked more about McNamara. “Every bit of growth that I’ve had in my career, especially in my writing and my performing, came because I met Michelle McNamara,” he told reporters. “Because I met and married this woman who just was so much wiser and self-actualized and aware of life than I was. I had convinced myself that I was aware and self-actualized and mature but then I met the real deal… “To have that ripped out of my life the way that it has this year – I’m not trying to say that this is meaningless, but everything seems like the lights have been turned down 50% on everything since she’s gone. “It just going to be a long, long time before I can be the kind of person she made me again.” Watch his moving post-win speech below: Patton Oswalt Honors Late Wife In an article for Time.com shortly after McNamara died, Oswalt looked back on the legacy left by his wife. You can’t be serious… DeShawn Franklin And Family Awarded Just $18 In Civil Rights Settlement The case of a innocent black man brutally beaten by police in a case of mistaken identity is making national headlines. Four years ago 18-year-old DeShawn Franklin of Indiana was awoken out of his sleep by police beating and tasering him. Why? Because they mistook him for another black man with dreadlocks. Now in 2016 his family is reeling after being just awarded $18 in a civil rights violation settlement for his unlawful arrest. The IndyStar reports: DeShawn Franklin, a slim, soft-spoken young man, hops on a city bus most days to travel 4 miles to the University of Notre Dame campus, where he works setting up equipment and moving furniture. […] It’s the night four years ago when three police officers entered his family’s home without a warrant. They rousted him from the bed where he slept. They punched him six times: three times in the face and three times to the body. They used a Taser on him. Then they loaded him into a squad car in view of the neighbors. All because of a case of mistaken identity. All because he wore dreadlocks. Even South Bend’s mayor and police department acknowledge that the officers that July night in 2012 used excessive force and violated the civil rights of Franklin and his parents by entering the house without permission. A federal jury in Fort Wayne agreed this month, determining that the officers were liable for unlawful entry and unlawful seizure. But then another maddening thing happened: The jury decided that those violations of the Fourth Amendment were worth only $1. Yes, $1. Each police officer who ignored the U.S. Constitution was ordered to pay a dollar to DeShawn and to each of his parents for each rights violation. The family was awarded an insulting total of $18 in damages. It is their only compensation for a night that left a then-18-year-old high school senior bruised, embarrassed and afraid. And his parents wondering about whether a poor black family can find equity in the American justice system. This…is…ridiculous. Hopefully this case picks up more traction and an attorney can get this young man the real compensation he deserves.
Things have gone from bad to worse for Rob Kardashian and his pregnant fiancee, Blac Chyna. Not only have they been fighting ever since their reality show, Rob & Chyna started filming, but now they’re sleeping in separate bedrooms . According to Radar Online , Chyna is entering her third trimester, which means that she’s getting more uncomfortable and is likely finding it hard to sleep through the night. “Blac is getting up several times a night right now and Rob cannot take it anymore,” a source told the site. “Every time she gets up, Rob thinks that something is wrong because he is a total hypochondriac.” All this worrying is really throwing Kardashian off his REM cycle. “She is just really pregnant right now and Rob wants his sleep!” For those of you who haven’t been Keeping Up With Rob Kardashian (I had to), you’re aware that he kind of acts like a baby from time to time. “Blac Chyna cannot play mommy to Rob right now because the roles have reversed and he is taking care of her,” the source added.
