At this point, the Duggars are so famous that even people who marry into the family become minor celebrities. Of course, not every new spouse is thrilled with that development. Take Lauren Swanson, for example. Lauren married Josiah Duggar over a year ago but thus far, she’s managed to keep a lower profile than most Duggar partners. Those who know Swanson best say that’s no accident. To say that Lauren is a bit more shy than your typical reality star would be a massive understatement. In her first video messages to fans — posted shortly after she and Josiah got engaged — Swanson spoke so quietly that many fans openly wondered if she were concealing some sort of speech impediment. (The denizens of Duggar nation are not always a kindly bunch.) To this day most fans know very little about Lauren — but that changed this week, when the mom-to-be posted a list of 11 facts about herself on Instagram. Some of the facts aren’t exactly jaw-droppers. Lauren kicks things off by revealing with that she loves Jesus with her “whole heart,” and she “grew up in central GA on a little farm” Important parts of her life, no doubt, but nothing that’s likely to take anyone by surprise. After the introductory items, however, Lauren’s list actually gets interesting. “I am a quarter hispanic (and no I am not fluent in Spanish, but I wish I was),” Swanson continued. “My middle name (Milagro) is in Spanish, it means Miracle.” So, maybe the Duggars aren’t the whitest family in the world anymore? (Just kidding, they still are.) From there, Lauren revealed that she’s known Josiah for much longer than previously thought. “Met the Duggar family in 2010, at the ATI conference in Big Sandy, TX (so yes, I watched Josiah grow up; I remember him as the funny/talkative little kid),” she wrote. And here’s where it really gets interesting — it seems Lauren was very nearly a career woman: “I went to college when I was 16 and finished my Associate’s degree in Nursing at 18,” she wrote. Next on the list was an equally, though considerably less impressive revelation: “My secret talent is yodeling,” she wrote. From there on out, its pretty standard stuff — Lauren plays piano and digs interior design, but her favorite pastime is hanging out with Josiah. But still — nursing, yodeling, interests that don’t involve Jesus and housework? Seems that Lauren may have a richer interior life than some folks gave her credit for. For years, we’ve been hearing that despite all of the hype about Jinger, Josiah is the real Duggar rebel , the one who resists his father’s influence at every turn. Last November, we reported that 90 Day Fiance star Ashley Martson had been kidnapped and brutally attacked when she was 19. Now, Ashley is speaking up on Instagram and inviting her fans and followers to hear the grim story of her survival story. This is a huge step for her, and she even released a statement about how she’s no longer afraid to address her trauma. First of all, Ashley explains why she decided to get ahead and leak her story through blogger John Yates late last year. “I wasn’t sure how the other tabloids would portray me,” Ashley explained at the time. She added: “I knew he would post it with the with dignity and respect with the understanding that this is a very sensitive subject.” And, she revealed, she had been warned that an old “friend” already planned to leak the story of the brutal 2005 assault. “People are disgusting,” she correctly observed. “Sending this story to tabloids shows how s–tty people really are.” In 2005, Ashley was near her car outside of work when a man, Sean Patrick Gallagher, attacked her with a box cutter and tied her up. He took her elsewhere in her own car. In a small athletic field, he stopped the car, terrorized her, and sexually assaulted her. He could have — and may have been planning to — end her life. Only 19 at the time, Ashley mustered the incredible courage to fight back against he armed monster. She struck him with a bag and used her own teeth to chew through the zip-ties that had bound her hands so tightly that they were discolored. Ashley made a run for it, on foot, sliding down an embankment and wading across a creek to get away. Gallagher was eventually identified with DNA evidence. He was already in prison at the time. At his trial, Ashley did not hold back when it came to scolding him for fighting the charges, forcing her to relive her horrific trauma. In 2009, after Ashley’s testimony, it took only 90 minutes for the jury to convict. He was found guilty of kidnapping, rape, involuntary intercourse, robbery, and terroristic threats. Last November, it was John Yates who shared the story — at Ashley’s request — to get it out in the open, the right way. Now, Ashley is addressing the topic herself on Instagram. “I was kidnapped and almost killed,” Ashley acknowledges. “But,” she continues. “I’m no longer afraid to speak out.” She then directs people to read about it. There isn’t exactly new information, since it’s been public knowledge, but her statement is brand new. Ashley has known a lot of awful experiences in her life. Kidnapped at 19. And she continues to battle Lupus, a devastating and chronic autoimmune disease that threatens her life. Leaked text messages appear to accuse her ex-husband, Jay Smith, of sexually assaulting her while she was recovering from a medical treatment. There is no limit on the horror that one can experience in a lifetime, but we hope that Ashley never relives any of these nightmares again. Ashley is a profoundly strong woman. This NOT exactly just in: Farrah Abraham is not the sharpest tack in the drawer. She’ll never be accused of playing with a full deck or of not having at least one screw loose. And yet, even for this disgraced ex-Teen Mom star, the video Farrah released on Wednesday likely came as a shock to those who have been following her so-called career for the past several months. Yes, it was that ignortant, tone-deaf and just plain dumb. Here. Let us set the stage for you, okay? Abraham has been in New York City for the past few days, taking daughter Sophia on a tour of The Big Apple while also making an appearance at this city’s Fashion Week. Earlier this week, though, Farrah and Sophia visited One World Trade Center in order to pay tribute to those who died on the September 11 terrorist attacks in 2001. On its surface, this was an admirable gesture. Dig a little deeper past the surface, however, and … well… … you get Abraham mixing up the date of this awful incident with the name of the country’s most famous convenience store. This is what the reality star said to open her self-filmed footage: “Okay, so we wanted to do, since it’s gonna be September 11, in honor of the Freedom Towers, and observatory deck and everything, of 7-Eleven, we are going to do this. Wow, look at this guys.” Yup, Farrah just said 7-Eleven . Abraham brushed right past her mistake, however, to say how vital she believes it to be that her daughter learn about the tragedy. “I think this is gorgeous, beautiful, and in memory of a lot of loved ones, a lot of others lost,” she says in the following video, adding: “I remember being in fifth grade when September 11 attacks happened, Sophia was not born yet, so I think it’s really important that Sophia learns about it, and here we go.” Farrah Abraham at One World Trade Center Farrah’s sentiment is right, of course. But was it right of her to turn this visit into a 12-minute video that she released on her YouTube page? Or right of here to strike such an odd, enthusiastic tone while walking around the sacred ground? “It’s pretty gorgeous here. It’s such a great day. The buildings are so beautiful,” she continued, later gushing over how much she was “enjoying” the entire experience. On the bright side at least, no one watched this video and wondered what the heck was the matter with Farrah’s appearance . Instead, they simply wondered what the heck is the matter with Farrah. Full stop. “I kind of wanted to make this video while I’m here at the Freedom Tower for September 11,” the MTV personality added. “However we all deal with loss, I encourage you guys to check out my last videos for bereavement, depression, but it’s good to have a memorial for those. It’s great to visit loved ones and have good memories.” We don’t want to judge anyone who has been through any traumatic ordeal. Not in any way at all. New York City is the latest stop on Farrah and Sophia’s tour across the world. They are fresh off a trip to Paris, where they enjoyed a day of shopping at stores like Louis Vuitton. Way back in April, David Eason shot and killed Jenelle Evans' dog , an 11-pound French bulldog named Nugget. Now obviously, David is not a criminal mastermind. In fact, we're impressed when we see him out in public with his shoes on the right feet. But he was able to avoid prosecution in the Nugget case, largely because he and Jenelle made it difficult for police to figure out what the hell actually happened. Then David went and confessed to the killing in an interview with People magazine, because — like we said — he's not the brightest bulb. So might he finally be punished for his nauseating crimes? Here's what we know so far: 1. The Easons Take Manhattan Jenelle and David are in New York in order to promote her newly-released eyebrow kit. The launch coincided with the city’s fashion week. 2. Tricky Business The launch party itself was a sparsely-attended bust that took place on some random Astro-turfed balcony. And the rest of the promotions haven’t turned out much better. 3. The Challenge The task presented to Jenelle and David was a difficult one — run damage control and rescue what’s left of your reputation, even though you stand accused of beating and murdering a puppy, then hiding the crime from police. 4. Absolute Disaster Because Evans’ manager, Johnny Donovan, knows nothing about his clients, he scored them an interview with People magazine. He was apparently under the impression that they’re a couple of smooth-talkers who would sort this whole thing out with ease. 5. Even Worse Than We Expected We don’t need to tell you wrong Donovan was. Despite a series of pre-approved softball questions, Jenelle and David sputtered and stammered their way through the interview and dug themselves a MUCH deeper hole. 6. Disgraced Southern Charm star Thomas Ravenel finished his custody battle with Kathryn Dennis in something of a stalemate. But that doesn’t mean that he’s out of the woods when it comes to the very serious accusations of sexual assault. This week, Ravenel reported back to court — and entered his guilty plea. On Wednesday, September 11, Thomas Ravenel appeared in a Charleston courtroom. There, he entered a guilty plea to the charges of third degree assault and battery. His sentence? 30 days in prison. Additionally, the judge suspended the jail time, changing it instead to require the wealthy socialite to pay a fine … of $500. Ravenel has an estimated net worth of $6 million. Keeping in mind that he is accused of raping his children’s nanny, that is … not the outcome that many of his detractors had hoped to see. There was, at least, an allecution. “On the night of the incident, I did attempt to kiss her,” Ravenel admitted in court. “And in doing so,” he confessed. “I grabbed her arm and that was wrong.” Ravenel concluded: “And I am much appreciative of the opportunity to apologize to her in court today.” Dawn Ledwell, his accuser and his children’s former nanny, was not present in court to see him skate by with a modest fine. Ravenel’s story of an attempted unwanted kiss certainly qualifies as assault. But it’s a very different story than the one that Ledwell mustered the courage to share. She describes the 2015 incident as him having removed his clothing, cornering her, and forcibly place her hand against his genitals. She accuses him of having places his hand against her groin in turn. Ledwell sustained injuries to her neck and breasts during the assault, apparently caused by what was done to her clothing. Ledwell explained that she did not cry out or fight back during the alleged sexual assault because one of the young children was sleeping nearby. As awful as what was happening to her was, she was more afraid of the young child seeing it and being traumatized. One year ago, in September of 2018, Ravenel was arrested for assault and battery in the second degree. It seems that prosecutors were already uncertain of how much of what happened to Ledwell they could prove in our court system. Clearly, even less than they thought, as the disgraced former politician was able to reduce the case to giving an unwanted kiss and then pay what amounts to a parking ticket. Ledwell is also not the only woman to accuse Ravenel of sexual assault. After a Tinder date with one woman, he allegedly changed demeanor dramatically and alarmingly and sexually assaulted her. That woman is bound by an agreement to not speak of it. Her daughter was involved in the proceedings but is not beholden to an NDA, and it was she who shared the story with the world. It has been strongly suggested that Ravenel may have had other, unidentified alleged victims sign NDAs in the past. But for now, that is speculation, and Ravenel remains a free man. Kim Kardashian just sent a very clear, powerful and emphatic message to Kylie Jenner: Calm down , little half-sister, she basically just said. I’m still alive, kicking and, oh yeah, raking it in! For those in need of context: Spanx — which is a comparable type of clothing to what Kim is offering here — made $4 million in profits in its first year of business. Meanwhile, SKIMS mgarneredde half that amount … in only a couple hundred seconds . Indeed, it appears as if lots of people out there still consider Kim Kardashian a fashion icon. “Wow!” wrote Kim in respone to this major news, adding on Instagram: “Thank you to everyone who supported our @skims launch day yesterday, it was beyond what I could have imagined and I’m so incredibly thankful!” Kim went through quite a lot to get this shapewear line up and running. Most notably, she originally planned to name it “Kimono,” but came under fire for doing so because that’s already a word and already a well-known article of clothing in Japanese culture. “I understand and have deep respect for the significance of the kimono in Japanese culture,” Kim told The New York Times in response to this controversy over the summer, adding at the time: “My solutionwear brand is built with inclusivity and diversity at its core.” Eventually, Kim changed the name to SKIMS. Last month, the Teen Mom world was stunned by news that Javi Marroquin and Lauren Comeau had broken up following a blow-out fight at the couple's Delaware home. And the more we learned about the situation, the more shocking it became. We now know that Javi was caught cheating on Lauren — hooking up with a neighborhood single mom while his fiancee slept upstairs. On Tuesday night, three couples broke up on Bachelor in Paradise . But while these tandems reached the end of their line, another Bachelor Nation twosome made it clear that getting off the island together a day before simply meant that they’d be… … getting off together, if you know what we mean. On Monday, September 9, Dean and Caelynn stunned viewers when they decided to exit Bachelor in Paradise, departing Mexico with a seemingly uncertain future. But the reality stars then went ahead yesterday and made it clear yesterday that they are doing quite well, thank you very much. Between the two of them, Caelynn and Dean shared a trio of photos of their time together… which has apparently included one-on-one dates in a van, with a nice view and very little clothing on. “Sorry we had to leave #bachelorinparadise early, the vantasy suite waits for no one,” Dean jokingly captioned one post. He even tagged the location as “Pleasure Town,” which is pretty amazing. Caelynn then reposted her lover’s picture and gave an update on their new life on the road. “Lots of ramen, very few showers, and a whole lot of happiness,” she wrote. In another one of the adorable snapshots (below), all of which were taken inside Unglert’s van, the two are cuddled up as they look out onto the ocean. They probably feel like the only people in the entire world here, you know? These images, and the romance they represent, mark a stark departure from where Miller-Keyes and Unglert were just a few weeks ago on air. They had going strong until Dean decided to dump Caelynn on her birthday and leave the series. She was crushed, but then a few days later, she was smitten with Connor Saeli and seemed happy as can be — that is, until Unglert chose to return and ask for a second chance. Then, on Monday night’s installment, Unglert came back to reveal that he had a change of heart and wanted Miller-Keyes to leave the beach with him. “I’m a changed man,” he told her. “I’m scared of getting hurt again,” Miller-Keyes replied. “I can’t tell you exactly what’s going to happen next, but I know I want to try,” Dean simply said. He sure looks like he both tried and succeeded, huh? And while it’s unclear where this relationship isi headed next, Dean and Caelynn don’t seem to be in a major rush to get there. To his continuing credit, Lamar Odom cannot stop gushing over new girlfriend Sabrina Parr . In fact, the pair seem to be moving incredibly quickly. Just over a month after going Instagram Official as a couple, the two are already shooting a brand new reality series. Lamar and Sabrina were spotted out and about together. As usual, the basketball legend was asked some friendly questions by paparazzi. One paparazzo asked him what he and Sabrina had been filming. It was a very good question, and got an interesting answer. “Me and my girl, we have a new show. Sabrina & Lamar ,” he revealed. He furnished a detail and rhymed at the same time, adding: “Sabrina Parr is the star.” Then, on Instagram, Sabrina responded when fans brought this up. “@lamarodom just can’t hold water to save his life LOL,” she teased. By that, she means that he couldn’t keep a secret. “The secrets out now [though] …” Sabrina admitted with resignation. “By the way …” she revealed. “The show name is not Sabrina and Lamar LOL.” While she does not reveal the show’s actual title, Sabrina does treat fans to an anecdote about her man. “I’ll tell y’all a quick story,” Sabrina writes. “From the day I met Lamar, he kept saying to me, ‘man you’re like a star.’” “Then every time [people] would come up to him to get a pic,” she continues. “He would say ‘that’s Sabrina Parr. She’s the real star.’” “That’s exactly how he’s treated me since day one [though] …” Sabrina gushes. She says that he treats her “like I’m the star and I’m the one who should get all the attention!” Sabrina explains that this is why Lamar gave the answer that he did. “That’s why he said this to the media,” Sabrina reasons. Full of affection, she acknowledges that “He truly feels that way.” “Meanwhile … I’m just tryna wear my Nike hat and sweats in peace LOL,” she jokes. Hmmm, I know that she’s why Lamar gave up porn , but I think that I actually really like her. “I think a lot of you will be surprised as to what exactly is gonna be included on the show,” Sabrina teases fans and followers. “How many of y’all will be watching?” she asks. “If you’re not gonna watch it,” she instructs. “Then just don’t respond.” Sabrina explains: “cuz I’m not talking to you and I don’t feel like blocking anyone today.” “So be nice on this beautiful Monday,” she requests. We really, truly do not know what sort of show the pair of them are cooking up. It’s good to hear that the show’s title won’t be quite as close to Khloe & Lamar as some had feared from his statement. Sabrina really does sound head-over-heels in love with him and appreciates how he treats her. That is truly heartwarming, you know? Maybe their relationship is still in the honeymoon phase, or maybe they’re just super compatible. We can’t wait to see what they’re like on reality television. It was the end of the line for not just one couple on Bachelor in Paradise Tuesday night. Or even just two couples. But a trio of tandems ended up calling it quits on the latest episode, with the Season 6 finale looming and, with it, all that pressure of Fantasy Suites, engagement and more. To open this recap, we’ll focus on Demi Burnett and her girlfriend Kristian Haggerty, who clearly have real feelings for each other. However, as documented the evening before , Demi was struggling to embrace her sexuality for the first time in front of so many people after having only just come out a short while back. “I want to be engaged, I want to marry her,” she said of Kristian, adding by way of concern: “But there is a part of me that’s terrified of what people are thinking whenever they see me and her kiss. I can’t get rid of that.” While this exact feeling was unique to Demi, she wasn’t the only contestant on Tuesday unsure about her romantic future. Clay Harbor and Nicole Lopez-Alvar, along with Chris Bukowski and Katie Morton, were also on fairly shaky ground. Yes, Nicole and Clay had been steadily progressing for week — but she ensed him holding back from a true committment. As a result, these two headed out on a date last night… where she decided to tell Clay she was falling for him, hoping for the same response. Alas: “You are my best friend in the beach,” he told her. “I just want to see you and spend so much time with you, I do. And I do think I’m starting to fall in love with you, I am. I just can’t say right now that I’m in love .” Chris and Katie could relate. The only person on his mind was Whitney Fransway, with whom he hit it off with at Chris Randone and Krystal Nielson’s wedding — but she had yet to arrive on the beach. Slight problem, right? “I thought Whitney might come down the stairs, but if she doesn’t come, I’ll probably just leave,” Connor said. “I’m not here to give out a friendship rose, I genuinely came here to find someone to find love, and if that’s not happening, I don’t want to be here.” But… wait! Almost as though it were scripted, Whitney later showed up with a date card at Connor’s hotel door, much to his extreme delight! “All I wanted was for you to come down and go on a date,” he said, smiling from ear to ear. “So this is the best.” Back at the bungalows: The couples got ready to head into that night’s cocktail party, only to find out that Chris Harrison had canceled it. What the what?!? They therefore went straight to the rose ceremony instead, as the suspense built and Harrison made sure to remind them how important these roses were. Why? Because, at this point, they were designed to represent commitment and a future together. Here is how it all shook out: Luke Stone offered his rose to Bri Barnes, but she declined and he was sent packing. Matt Donald then also offered his rose to Bri… and this time she accepted. Dylan chose Hannah. John Paul Jones chose Tayshia Adams. Chase McNary chose Angela Amezcua. Clay chose Nicole. Demi went with Kristian, of course. And Chris picked Katie… which meant Revian, Sydney Lotuaco and Haley Ferguson were going home. The next day, Harrison returned to announce that Bachelor in Paradise as they knew it was over . “Last night was your last rose ceremony,” he said. “What is next? Romantic overnight dates, Fantasy Suites, spending the night together and taking that night step as a couple.” Harrison continued: “Today, each couple is going to go have that conversation. “And I need you to be brutally honest with yourselves and each other and think, ‘Are we ready to take that step together as a couple?’ If you’re not, it’s time to check out of Paradise and head back home.” The message was heard loudly and clearly… as couples started dropping like flies, beginning with Bri and Matt, then Chase and Angela. Next up, Jones told Tayshia that he was in love with her — yet she just wasn’t there yet. Both devastated and in tears , they peaced out separately. Hannah and Dylan, however, couldn’t wait to take this next step together, while Clay and Nicole also decided to give romance (and sex!) a shot. After a heart-to-heart conversation, Demi and Kristian agreed to keep exploring their relationship, as well. As for Chris and Katie? “I feel like I’m so unsure,” he told her. “I don’t know, I feel like I push people away that I like, that I feel comfortable with.” “At the end of the day, whether it’s me or it’s not me, you need to figure out who makes you happy,” she replied. “I don’t know if it’s you for the rest of my life, but do I like you? Yes. Do you make me happy?
