Allison Calhoun Dennis, the mother of main Southern Charm cast member Kathryn Dennis, died Wednesday after an extended illness. She was 59 years old. An insider close to the veteran reality star confirmed this tragic piece of news to People Magazine this afternoon, telling the publication: “Their family requests privacy while they mourn with the sad loss. They’re very private people and they want their time to cope.” Dennis had just spoken to People in April about her mom, with whom the Bravo personality was very close. “My mom’s my best friend,” Dennis said at that time. “She stuck by me through so much. I don’t know what I would do without her. Allison had been retired after working at Santee Cooper water service. She had previously battled cancer and moved in with Kathryn during that time — and was actually a descendent of seventh U.S. Vice Prresident John C. Calhoun. “She was sick for a year and a half and I was taking care of her,” Kathryn told People this spring, adding: “She’s since been living with me, essentially. It’s great to have her around, especially because she’s so good with the kids. She’s amazing. She’s the best mom I could ever hope for with everything.” Dennis is the ex-girlfriend of former Southern Charm lead Thomas Ravenel, who quit this series last year amid accusations of sexual assault and rape. The two share two kids, a five-year old and a three-year old, with Dennis fighting hard for primary custody of these children. The fight has been ugly and challenging, however. Just last month, we learned that Ravenel hired a private investigator to look into Dennis, attempting to discredit his ex in an attempt to deny her custody claims. He previously alleged that Dennis is a drug addict who shouldn’t be trusted. Like we said above: this custody fight has been ugly and challenging. But back to Kathryn’s late mother: Funeral plans for Allison have not been announced, although the Dial-Murray Funeral Home in South Carolina has posted an obituary. Goodbye dewy skin and hello smokey eye! The ’90s glam is back and we’ve got the 4-1-1! On Monday, Kim Kardashian announced to Instagram that her makeup company, KKW Beauty, will be traveling back in time for its next launch — a ’90s-themed collection! The highly anticipated look will be dropping on August 16 and will feature two 10-pan eyeshadow palettes, six lipsticks “in a brand-new matte formula,” six lip liners, and five eyeliners. Just add some denim, straighten your hair, and you go, girl! But while most fans can’t wait for the release of Kim K’s new throwback line, some are ( of course) having trouble getting on board. Once again, Kim is facing major backlash because according to some of her followers, she’s hardly recognizable in her promo pics. “I’m so excited to announce my new ’90s inspired collection of all matte formulas — The Matte Smoke & Matte Cocoa Collections!!!” she wrote in her caption. “I get a lot of my makeup inspiration from the 90’s and love how nostalgic this entire collection is.” As seen in the photo above, the mom of four is rocking a heavy smokey eye, a black Versace dress, a thick choker, and slick hair — but the internet is SO not here for it. “As if”, am I right? Comments have been ranging from “Who is this?” to “That’s not Kim, right?” and there are also plenty of complaints and accusations being made about Photoshop : “She’s so photoshopped she doesn’t even know what she looks like,” said one hater user. “Umm… Kim is so stunning but this doesn’t look like her,” added another. Sure, she looks like a totally different person , but these heavy makeup products and techniques are something we haven’t seen on the 38-year-old in quite some time. Shannon Beador has lost an astonishing amount of weight and is having more fun than ever before. Part of that fun is with her handsome businessman boyfriend . Things between the two of them are looking serious. So serious, in fact, that they traveled across the country so that he coudl be her date for the RHOC premiere. As you can imagine, Shannon Beador was excited about the Season 14 premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County . She flew out to New York for the premiere — but she didn’t come alone. Her plus one was boyfriend John Janssen. The two snapped photos — one of which you can see above — from the premiere. It looks like things are getting really, truly serious. RadarOnline reports that Shannon simply “just can’t get enough” of her exciting new man. And that’s only part of why it’s no surprise that she brought him along to the premiere, even if it meant two cross-country flights. “Of course she wants to flaunt him as much as she can,” the insider says. Well… that was awkward. On Monday, Tori Spelling sat down next to Jennie Garth for an interview on the program Good Day New York. The actresses were on hand to discuss the unusual Beverly Hills, 90210 reboott that premieres tonight on Fox… … but things turned rather awkward when the topic of Spelling’s finances were raised by host Rosanna Scotto. (There has been talk for several months that Tori and husband Dean McDermott are in serious debt ; hence why they keep signing on for reality shows and granting every interview imaginable.) On BH90210, Spelling plays a heightened version of herself… and the character is plagued by the money she owes, which is why she tries to organize a reunion among her former co-stars. “Tori, it’s got to hit a little close to home when they start talking about financial problems, right?” Scotto asked, to which Spelling replied emphatically: “That was a choice that I made and we made together to put that in there… “That’s such speculation and the media loves to talk about it. So we were like, ‘let’s face them straight on and let’s put it in there.'” However, Spelling’s response wasn’t good enough for Scotto, who followed up by bluntly asking this question: “Are you able to pay your bills?” “Am I able to pay my bills? Yeah, thank you. I am,” Spelling fired back It’s a personal subject and we can understand why Tori got so upset. But she lost a major lawsuit this past January and, like we said above, there’s been non-stop chatter that Spelling is, indeed, flat-out broke . At the conclusion of this awkward sit-down, Scotto apologized for her questions, telling Tori: “We do wish you the best. I’m sorry if I offended you by asking about your finances.” Spelling replied that she has “pretty thick skin” and even quipped: “We’re going to write this into the show, so thank you for giving us new material.” Following the interview, Good Day New York shared an after-show on Facebook, where Scotto addressed the exchange between her and Spelling, even though the questions seemed appropriate in our view. After all, Tori’s own mother has said in the past that the actress squandered nearly all the money left to her by her late father, famous producer Aaron Spellinf. In 2014, Candy Spelling, told the New York Times that Spelling received her inheritance… and then went on massive spending sprees. “She would close a store and drop $50,000 to $60,000,” Candy claimed. “I never did anything like that. She just went crazy.” Wrote Scotto on Facebook in reaction to the interview: “It was definitely awkward. I didn’t mean it to be awkward. “They are putting on a show where it’s a mockumentary and it brings up their problems — they’re real-life problems. And Tori has had — for years now, since her mother cut her out of the will — there’s been so many stories about her not having any money. “I tried to see if she wanted to dispel the rumors, but she got very upset. The bottom line was maybe we know too much. “We know she recently sent a text to somebody saying she didn’t have money to pay for her kids for food.” Exactly. Back on July 5, as you very likely know by now, Amber Portwood was arrested on three charges of felony domestic violence. Prior to this date and this alleged incident, however, it appears the teen Mom OG star may have known that something explosive was on the way. Something explosive via her own hand, that is. In a sneak peek clip for next Monday night’s brand new episode of Teen Mom OG, Amber breaks down in tears during her therapy session. And thens he even says the following, presumably of herself and/or her mental status: It’s like a ticking time bomb. It’s unclear exactly when this admission was filmed, likely several weeks prior to Amber’s arrest. As seen in previous installments of the MTV franchise, Portwood recently started welcoming the network cameras inside her therapy sessions. In one episode, she was nearly in tears while admitting to her therapist that she wishes there was a cure for her mental illness so she can walk outside and be “happy.” Portwood also acknowledged a few weeks ago on air that she is “f-ckin nuts .” The polarizing mother of two, who has never been quiet when it comes to this important topic, has said she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when she was 17 or 18 years old. “I got like four different opinions and it was all the same,” she told Chyenne Floyd on a July episode of the show, adding at the time: “And then I had borderline personality disorder, BPD. That stems more from your childhood and things that you went through.” She added in this same discussion: “Obviously since the day we started this show, I’ve been f-cking nuts, so I mean, come on.” Amber has acknowledged in the past that she suffered from postpartum depression after giving birth to her son last summer. She even thought about killing herself at the time. Fast forward almost a year exactly and Portwood is accused of throwing a shoe at her boyfriend after the two got into an argument because the family got stuck in traffic and missed a July Fourth fireworks show. Glennon told police that he hid in the couple’s bathroom after this, only for Portwood to use a machete and try to break the door down. Amber has reportedly admitted to the show throw, but denied the use a machete. In the month or so since this arrest, Portwood has been ordered to stay away from Glennon. She is permitted to see her son, but only under the supervision of a court-approved individual. The veteran reality star has also seemingly accused Glennon of cheating and, as you can read about below, of being a drunk driver. Joshua Rush, a 17-year old actor who played the first-ever openly gay Disney Channel character on the show Andi Mack , came out on Tuesday as bisexual. He did so via a series of revealing and candid Tweets. “first to respond to this tweet is bi lol,” Rush wrote, prior replying to his own post as follows: “first! i win! it’s me. i’m bi. And now that I’ve said that, I have a few things to rant about. “There are more important things to talk about than me liking a whole bunch of genders, but I do want to share a few things with you guys.” The actor then referenced his aforementioned Andi Mack character, expounding in detail: “I saw so many of you watch Cyrus come out and said ‘Hey! I can be me!’ How ironic, isn’t it, that me, playing that character, never had mustered up that courage? “Instead of feeling the courage to tell you today that I am an out and proud bisexual man because of the character I played for four years, I feel that courage thinking of all of you, who felt emboldened by Cyrus to come out.” Coming to terms with his sexual orientation was something Rush said was challenging for awhile… even while portraying a character going through a similar thing on screen. “I had a close friend of mine come out to me in fifth grade. FIFTH GRADE! That was well before I had any clue of my own identity and orientation. I suffered with some level of my own internalized homophobia even while playing the first openly gay character on Disney Channel,” he wrote, later adding: “I stuffed the existential crisis of talking about my sexual orientation into a box in my mind for years. Today, I release it into the world. “Being bi isn’t all of my identity, nor is it the most important part of my identity. “Bi erasure and issues like it are important, but trans women of color still have a life expectancy of THIRTY FIVE YEARS and that is absolutely unacceptable.” So … how did Rush get to this point? He gave a lot of credit to material produced by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), and he encouragedd his followers to donate to this organization. “Our show wouldn’t have existed in the form that it did without them, but also because their hard work in furthering acceptance in media helps an uncountable number of people,” he wrote, continuing: “I also want to encourage you to read their page on bisexuality. “It has been incredibly helpful to me, and their resources have helped me to find where I fit on the spectrum of sexuality.” Thankfully, most followers responded to Rush’s admission with praise and support. He concluded his honest and vital message as follows: I also want to ask you to donate to The Trevor Project, who are literally saving lives every day. As we reported a week ago, Jon Gosselin hit the beach for a sweet family vacation with his girlfriend and with his children, Hannah and Collin. Well, they’re still enjoying their time at the beach as a family. And speaking of family, it looks like Jon is cozying up to the man who may one day be his father-in-law. Jon Gosselin shared this wholesome photo of him, girlfriend Colleen Conrad, son Collin Gosselin, and Colleen’s dad. “Back at the Beach!!!” Jon wrote happily in the captions on Instagram. He shared some specifics: “Atlantic City for dinner with Colleen’s Dad.” “We call him “Dude,'” Jon revealed. Nicknames can be fascinating things, but of course, many fans were immediately curious about the conspicuously missing face. “Hannah is still at the the beach with her friends,” Jon shared. This is a good time to remember that Hannah is 15. Playing at the beach with friends is a very age-appropriate activity. “And of course,” Jon’s caption continued. “Collin wouldn’t miss a meal!!!” Speaking of the sextuplets being 15, Collin is 15 years old. To be 15 is to be ravenous at all times. Jon went on to share that they were dining at “our favorite place Back Bay Ale House!!!” Whether that was an arranged endorsement or just an earnest shoutout is anyone’s guess. “I Love Colleen, I love my kids,” Jon affirmed affectionately. “And I Love my life, my family, and my friends,” he added. “Things are good!!!” Jon gushed. “I really can’t complain,” he admitted. “I’m truly blessed!!!” It’s it a beautiful thing to watch someone turn their entire life around for themselves and for at least part of their family? Jon and Colleen have enjoyed a summer of romantic fun. But though they may be acting like a couple newly in love, they have been dating for several years. Giddiness aside, this is a serious relationship that includes a blended family of two of Jon’s children. It’s always possible that wedding bells could be on the horizon for these two. If so, it’s great that Jon is taking the time to bond with Colleen’s family — in this case, with “Dude.” Colleen has spent a lot of time with Collin and Hannah, welcoming Jon’s children into her home. By all accounts, Colleen is a kind and loving person. We can only imagine the sort of shock that the two young teens must have felt after years under Kate Gosselin’s tyrannical rule. Kindness, joy, fun, and respect can be a wonderful and nurturing environment for teens. We are so grateful — as we’re sure that Jon is — that he found a partner who is happy to help create a loving home. Even without his kids, Jon is clearly grateful to have found such a loving partner who loves him back. Not everyone finds love again after escaping from a toxic marriage. And, let’s be completely honest here — Jon Gosselin has had his issues over the years. Not everyone saw him as a prize. But Colleen accepted him, baggage and all. It’s been amazing to watch this romance blossom. Jon can do, and has done, much worse.
Tyler and Catelynn Baltierra are raising two little kids at home. But these reality stars are actually the biological parents of three kids, having given up a daughter named Carly for adoption back when they were teeangers because they didn’t feel prepared for parenthood at the time. The Teen Mom OG cast members actually spent time with their first-born this summer in anticipation of Carly turning 10 years old. In celebration of this same occasion, Tyler and Catelynn opened way up about this daughter on Monday night’s emotional and revealing episode of this same MTV franchise. And we mean way up. They grew especially candid at times. When a producer asked Tyler what he’d tell someone who was thinking of placing their little boy or girl up for adoption, he said knowing other family is key. Does this mean he regrets the way things transpired with Carly? Tyler didn’t go that far, but he did say the following on air: “The only thing I would say, just make sure the family you want your baby to be raised with, you know very, very well. They’re your kid’s whole world,” he advised. Speaking of Carly’s adoptive parents, Brandon and Teresa Davis, the veteran MTV personality added: “We know Brandon and Teresa were a little more reserved than we were. We weren’t raised around that kind of lifestyle, so we’re like, that’s how these well-off people act.” Tyler and Catelynn are raising five-year old Nova at the moment, along with little Vadea, who was born in February . “If we would have known what we know now, we might have been like, we want kinda people that are kinda just relaxed,” Tyler added. Tyler went on to acknowledge the situation was likely just as strange for the Davis family. Just consider: They thought they’d be adopting a little girl in privace; they couldn’t possibly have predicted Tyler and Catelynn would become legitimate reality stars and this situation would continue to be discussed all these years later. “Our situation’s super not normal,” Tyler said simply. Talking to the same producer, Catelynn explained that young Nova doesn’t fully comprehend the situation with Carly. “We don’t get into too much detail because she’s so young,” she said. “We just said she lives far away.” That’s fair, right? How else do you explain the concept of adoption to a toddler? When Carly is older, Catelynn said she and Tyler would “tell her the raw reality” of why they put her up for adoption in the first place. In a preview for next week, meanwhile, it looks like Carly and Nova will actually meet for the first time. “One thing we never thought about was explaining it to our children, especially our situation, we’re still together,” Tyler concluded. Late last month, reports came out that Matt Brown was banned from filming Alaskan Bush People after his sobriety struggles and a family conflict. That wasn’t just sad for viewers — it was a source of grief for the whole family. Now, there’s wonderful news for everyone involved — especially Matt himself. As you may recall, even when we reported on the falling out between father and son, we did some further digging. We were even able to find a photograph of Matt in Washington, which seemed to indicate that things were on the mend. Now, RadarOnline confirms that we were right on the money. “Matt is already back in California,” the insider reports. The source notes that this is “after spending a week with his family in Washington,” “But,” the insider adds. “He really had a great trip home.” “He made up with his father,” the insider announces. “Which is huge.” “He was able to make up with his father,” the source repeats. “And,” the insider shares. “They were able to come to an agreement that would bring Matt back to the show.” That is a huge relief — though, of course, a little too late for this current season. The source clarifies that Matt’s return is slated “for the season after this one.” Of course, there’s one very serious ground rule. “Billy told Matt that he must stay sober from now on,” the insider reveals. “Or else,” the source warns. “The deal is off.” “Of course, Matt agreed,” the insider adds. We’re sure that no one is more invested in Matt remaining sober than Matt himself. While Matt hasn’t made a formal announcement about returning to the show, he has dropped “hints” about his reconciliation with his family. “Taking in this peaceful view of this lake here and I was thinking about you all guys,” Matt said in a recent Instagram video. Notably, in the video, he is overlooking Lake Loomis. “I know that I haven’t done a video in a while,” he acknowledged. “So I just wanted to say ‘hey.’” “I hope you all have a good weekend,” he expressed. “And I know that we will out here.” “Alright,” Matt concluded. “Love you all!” Years ago, Matt developed a problem with alcohol and had to become sober. In recent years, however, worries over his mother’s battle with Stage 4 lung cancer contributed to his return to drinking. (It was not the only factor, but it was certainly a major one) Last year, the family staged an intervention, and Matt attended rehab along with therapy and meetings and hired a sobriety coach. Even with that support, he faltered and slipped at times. Now, he is once again on the straight and narrow. Fans and family alike are proud of Matt for taking these difficult steps to better his life. Still, Matt Brown will need to remain sober if he intends to make good on the deal that he and Billy have struck. But we believe 100% that he can avoid alcohol or even the temptation to drink. Right now, he’s back to enjoying his life in Southern California. Bachelor in Paradise did not save the drama for its mama on Monday night’s Season 6 premiere. Instead, it saved the drama almost entirely for Blake Horstmann, the runner-up on Becca Kufrin’s edition of The Bachelorette , and the two women with whom he hooked up last night. Before we delve into that drunken chaos, a quick refresher: This summer’s crop of horny contestants includes: Colton Underwood’s finalists Tayshia and Hannah G. A villain from Hannah Brown’s very recent season, Cam. Her former suitor John Paul Jones. Veteran franchise member Chris Bukowski. And other Paradise veterans such Bibiana, Wills, Annaliese and Derek, who’d gotten engaged on Bachelor in Paradise season 4. While they were hoping to start something brand new and exciting in Vallarta, Nayarit, one participant said she needed to figure out the feelings she had in an existing relationship. That would be Demi, also from Colton’s season, who revealed in a pre-beach talk with Hannah B. that she had “kind of been seeing someone.” “Plot twist, it happens to be a woman,” Demi said on air, adding: “It’s not something that I need to label, so I feel like I don’t have to proclaim that I am gay, I am straight, I am bisexual, I am this. I just like who I like. It doesn’t matter who or what you are, it’s the person.” Demi added that this woman was “amazing,” but that she is not in an exclusive relationship. So bring on the hook-ups, people! Men and women! Once she hit that warm and inviting sand, Demi found a connection with 32-year-old Derek — and they ended up kissing in the hot tub, which we’re pretty sure it mandated in the show’s by-laws. “I’m ready to find someone that’s ready to have a relationship, and I’m having fun exploring,” she explained in an on-camera interview. “I’ve had some fun with Derek tonight. We were seeing each other, I was pretty sure it was exclusive. “He’s done some really horrible things to me. So now I’m not interested in him. He’s made it clear he’s not interested in me. I’m a mistake. He’s never apologized, and that’s hurtful.” Naturally, Blake received the first date card, promptly asking out Tayshia. As they went off for their evening together, Caelynn opened up to bartender and former Bachelorette contestant Wells. “I thought he was a great guy and then we really had something,” she told Wells of Blake. “We talked about skipping Paradise and coming out with us, and then he ghosted me. Just like fully stopped communication and now I’m here. F-cking first date. And then we saw each other at a music festival. “He ended up sweet-talking me and we spent the night together. And we wake up and I’m in his bed and he’s DMing Hannah G. I’m still in his bed, he’s talking about how hot Tayshia is. “I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ Like no dude, that’s not okay. And then he was like, ‘I just want to let you know I hooked up with Kristina [Schulman, from Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor] the night before.’” She went on to say that Blake told her the two of them had to keep their old romance a secret in Mexico.
