The Canadian rapper always insisted he would keep his vice off stage to keep his mind clear and focused during a gig. However, it appears the 27-year-old has changed his opinion of on-stage smoking as he shared a joint with Lil’ Wayne at their concert in Queens, New York City on Tuesday. Joined by frequent collaborator Lil’ Wayne, 31, at the Forest Hills Stadium, Drake enjoyed a joint on-stage in between tracks. Holding his microphone ins one hand and the roll-up in another, Drake inhaled deeply before offering it to Lil’ Wayne. Marijuana for medicinal purposes just became legal in New York last month, although this doesn’t extend to recreational use. The hip-hop star has been open about his marijuana use, but was adamant his use of the drug wasn’t over-the-top. He told the Guardian: ‘All within moderation. I care too much about what I have. I’m not going to throw it away for that. ‘I don’t understand people who can go out on stage under the influence of anything, I have to be straight and clear minded, kids at home.’ Well so much for that! Just please do us all a favor and don’t catch a charge. We doubt you and your sensitive waffle-toned antics would fare well in the clink.
Source: Cop Who Killed Mike Brown Was Severely Beaten During Confrontation An unnamed “source” close to the Ferguson PD has come forward to now claim that police office Darren Wilson, who fatally down unarmed teenager Mike Brown by shooting him six times following a confrontation, was badly injured during their scuffle. Funny how this information was not initially revealed… via Fox News Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Mo., police officer whose fatal shooting of Michael Brown touched off more than a week of demonstrations, suffered severe facial injuries, including an orbital (eye socket) fracture, and was nearly beaten unconscious by Brown moments before firing his gun, a source close to the department’s top brass told FoxNews.com. “The Assistant (Police) Chief took him to the hospital, his face all swollen on one side,” said the insider. “He was beaten very severely.” According to the well-placed source, Wilson was coming off another case in the neighborhood on Aug. 9 when he ordered Michael Brown and his friend Dorain Johnson to stop walking in the middle of the road because they were obstructing traffic. However, the confrontation quickly escalated into physical violence, the source said.. “They ignored him and the officer started to get out of the car to tell them to move,” the source said. “They shoved him right back in, that’s when Michael Brown leans in and starts beating Officer Wilson in the head and the face. The source claims that there is “solid proof” that there was a struggle between Brown and Wilson for the policeman’s firearm, resulting in the gun going off – although it still remains unclear at this stage who pulled the trigger. Brown started to walk away according to the account, prompting Wilson to draw his gun and order him to freeze. Brown, the source said, raised his hands in the air, and turned around saying, “What, you’re going to shoot me?” At that point, the source told FoxNews.com, the 6 foot, 4 inch, 292-pound Brown charged Wilson, prompting the officer to fire at least six shots at him, including the fatal bullet that penetrated the top of Brown’s skull, according to an independent autopsy conducted at the request of Brown’s family. Wilson suffered a fractured eye socket in the fracas, and was left dazed by the initial confrontation, the source said. He is now “traumatized, scared for his life and his family, injured and terrified” that a grand jury, which began hearing evidence on Wednesday, will “make some kind of example out of him,” the source said. The source also said the dashboard and body cameras, which might have recorded crucial evidence, had been ordered by Ferguson Police Chief Thomas Jackson, but had only recently arrived and had not yet been deployed. St. Louis County police, who have taken over the investigation, did not return requests for comment about possible injuries suffered by Wilson. Edward Magee, spokesman for St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCullough, said the office will not disclose the nature of the evidence it will reveal to a grand jury. “We’ll present every piece of evidence we have, witness statements, et cetera, to the grand jury, and we do not release any evidence or talk about evidence on the case.” Nabil Khattar, CEO of 7Star Industries – which specializes in firearms training for law enforcement and special operations personnel – confirmed that police are typically instructed to use deadly force if in imminent danger of being killed or suffering great bodily injury. “You may engage a threat with enough force that is reasonably necessary to defend against that danger,” he said. Wilson is a six-year veteran of the Ferguson police force department, and has no prior disciplinary infringements. Massive protests have since taken over the St. Louis community, prompting Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon last Thursday to place Highway Patrol Capt. Ron Johnson at the helm of security operations in an effort to calm ongoing tensions. The federal government is also investigating the death, and Attorney General Eric Holder has taken the lead – calling “the selective release of sensitive information” in the case “troubling.” On Friday, Ferguson police released surveillance video showing Brown stealing cigars from a convenience store just before his death. Jackson came under intense criticism for disclosing the tape and a related police report as he also insisted that the alleged robbery and the encounter with Wilson were unrelated matters. Brown’s family, through their attorney, suggested the tape’s release was a strategic form of “character assassination.” However, FoxNews.com’s source insisted that there was absolutely no spin agenda behind the tape’s release and that there were a number of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) media requests filed by media outlets seeking it. Tom Jackson is said to have waited on publicly releasing it, and did not want it shown until Brown’s grieving mother first had the chance to see it. “He defied the FOIAs as long as he could,” noted the insider. “A powerful, ugly spin has completely ruined public discourse on this whole situation.” Sounds like Darren Wilson and his team will be taking a page out of the George Zimmerman “how to be an aint-isht human being” handbook to build a case for the upcoming trial. Nothing shared on social media stays private for long… UAB Student Kicked Out Of Sorority After Racist Snapchat A University of Alabama sorority girl got kicked out of her chapter after sharing with her Snapchat friends just how excited she was that no Black women had joined her Greek-letter organization on the last rush. Via HuffPost : A University of Alabama student was removed from her sorority this week for sending a racist Snapchat photo bragging that no black women were accepted to her Greek house. The executive headquarters for the Chi Omega Fraternity confirmed Tuesday the woman who sent the image is no longer a member of the UA chapter. Rumors circulated online that the Snap was Photoshopped; Chi Omega spokeswoman Whitney Plumpton told The Huffington Post the image being passed around (visible below) is “not the original Snapchat image,” although the original did contain the slur used in the altered version. The Snap, captioned “Chi O got “NO n*ggas!!!!!” over a selfie, was allegedly sent on bid day, which was Saturday. The women’s faces are blurred in the photo circulating online. The University of Alabama Greek system is under increased scrutiny this year, following the national attention in 2013 when sorority members began going public about how black women were systematically blocked from joining traditionally white houses, largely due to alumnae influence. Eventually, black women did begin joining the sororities, including a handful at Chi Omega. The university hosted its largest sorority rush in history this year, and offered bids to 21 black women, according to the Associated Press. Plumpton confirmed Tuesday that the original image did have the slur included, and refocused attention to the statement the national organization sent out on Monday: “What was expressed is absolutely reprehensible and completely inconsistent with Chi Omega’s values and policies,” the national organization said in the statement. “Chi Omega took swift disciplinary action in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures. The woman who took the photo is no longer a member of the chapter.” Kicking her out doesn’t change what she and her little friends think…or who they do and don’t want joining their chapter. This likely speaks to a larger attitude within the Greek organization on that campus. We wonder how welcome the handful of Black members they do have truly are…

A New York City runway model who was missing for nearly two weeks has been found alive, police say. Missing NYC Model Ataui Deng Found Alive At Hospital Via NBC New York reports: Ataui-Deng Hopkins was found Monday at an area hospital, 12 days after she was last seen leaving the rooftop XVI Lounge on West 48th Street near Eighth Avenue on Aug. 6, according to the NYPD. The 22-year-old models professionally under the name Ataui Deng. She has walked the runways for designers like Proenza Schouler, Zac Posen, Malandrino and Lanvin, according to New York Magazine. Hopkins has also appeared in Harper’s Bazaar and Teen Vogue. The Sudanese-born model has been modeling since she was 14 and lived in Texas before coming to New York City. A spokeswoman at Trump Models, Hopkins’ agency since 2008, said before the 22-year-old was found that everyone was worried about the “much loved” woman and had been making calls and trying to find her. Celebrities including Rihanna also tweeted her photo during the search. Hopkins’ friend, celebrity chef Roble Ali, said she had disappeared before for a day or two when she felt like she needed space. But he said he got worried about this most recent case because she’d never been gone so long. In an Instagram post after she was found, Ali thanked police and friends for their efforts. “She is safe and sound,” he said. “I want to thank all of our friends and followers and especially the NYPD for their swift and dedicated response.” What a sigh of relief!
