According to Radar Online: Phaedra Parks and Apollo Nida are living separate lives as he prepares for his upcoming fraud trial. But were they ever really in love? Parks sued former friend Angela Stanton for defamation when Stanton claimed that the Real Housewives of Atlanta stars had wed for legal reasons in her tell-all book, Lies of a Real Housewife. Now, in a new deposition for that case, Stanton’s ex-boyfriend adds fuel to the fire with new claims that Parks only married Nida “to save her own a**.” According to a deposition transcript obtained by Radar, Stanton’s ex, Justin Cody claimed,”Before Phaedra used to talk to Apollo, she used to talk to this dude named DJ Nubbs … that was Phaedra’s boo.” “And then Apollo came along and she wasn’t even really … I don’t know there relationship,” he continued. Stanton has claimed that Nida and Parks were engaged in a check fraud scheme together, a claim which Parks hotly denies. Nida was arrested for racketeering in 2004 — the same year Stanton was jailed for the scheme. Cody said in his deposition, “I don’t know their relationship, but all I know [is] right when the [first fraud] case came” and Nida was arrested along with Stanton and others of Parks’ associates, “all of a sudden she just popped up and married him.” “She was still dealing with DJ Nubbs and she popped up and married Apollo …” he explained. “…Phaedra was trying to save her own a**.” Fake marriages, fake identities, fake companies…hmmm. There seems to be a pattern here. Do you think Phaedra was getting her cakes smashed to smithereens by Apollo and her DJ boo thang at the same damn time?

Cold world Pernell Whitaker Says Evicting 73 Year Old Mother Was “Beautiful” Via ABCNews Former welterweight boxing champ Pernell “Sweet Pea” Whitaker’s latest battle was a court fight to evict his mother from her house and he described his court victory as a “beautiful moment.” Once a celebrated millionaire boxer and 1985 Olympic gold medalist, Whitaker is now struggling to pay his bills and needed to sell the house which he gave to his mother nearly 30 years ago, according to his lawyer. His fall from grace and solvency involved numerous incidences of drug abuse and a history of arrests and run-ins with police. But Whitaker’s final falling out with his family came to an ugly end in a Virginia court on Wednesday. The court ruled that Whitaker’s 73-year-old mother, Novella Whitaker, had to vacate the house by March 31. Whitaker had been going head to head against the matriarch of his seven-child family since last fall when he began eviction proceedings after unsuccessfully trying to convince his mother to move, his lawyer, Bruce Gould told ABC News. “It’s sad for him to have to take action against his mother, but none of the family would contribute to the real estate and he had no alternative but to use the court process,” Gould said. SMH But outside the courthouse on Wednesday, Whitaker appeared happy with court ruling to evict his mom. He said to ABC News affiliate WVEC-TV that it was “a beautiful moment.” Damn… “I’m going to survive…I’m a survivor..I’m going with my daughter…she is taking me in,” said Novella Whitaker told WVEC. “He’ll be a son forever until death do us part, but he is putting a rip through the family,” said Whitaker’s eldest sister, Zelda Brown. Ugandan Newspaper Publishes Identities Of “Top 200 Homos” In The Country The Ugandan community has been making national headlines lately as a result of their very public anti-gay rhetoric as a country, which reached its’ peak thus far yesterday when Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni officially signed the “Anti-Homosexuality Act” into law. Now, one day after the signing a Ugandan newspaper has released a list of the top 200 gay people in the country, all but urging resident who see anyone on the list to bring them to “justice.” via Gawker If you were curious about the practical implications of Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act, signed yesterday by President Yoweri Museveni, look no further than its Red Pepper newspaper, which has published the identities of what it deems the country’s “200 Top Homos” on its cover. If you thought the law banning gay sex would exist only in the realm of gay sex, you were wrong. This is a war on gay people. Red Pepper’s move is similar to that of a now defunct paper called Rolling Stone (no relation to the U.S. music magazine), which published a list of Uganda’s “Top 100 Homos” in 2010. It was a call to action: “Hang Them” read the issue’s cover. About three months later, Ugandan activist David Kato who was among the paper’s Top 100, was bludgeoned to death. In response, Rolling Stone publisher Giles Muhame said, “This looks like any other crime. I have no regrets about the story. We were just exposing people who were doing wrong.” In the 2012 documentary Call Me Kuchu, which details the struggles of the LGBT community in Uganda, Muhame giggles as he discusses his paper’s detrimental outings (there was a followup a few weeks later, which identified 10 more Ugandan gays). Regardless of your personal beliefs with regard to the LGBT community, no human being deserves to be physically harmed or brutally ridiculed for they way the choose to live their personal lives, which most likely what’s coming next following the release of this “list”. SMH!

We know he’s breathing easier. Police Dashcam Video Saves Man From Jail Without that video these pigs would’ve gotten away some bullisht yet again. According to Business Insider: Videos taken from two police cruiser dash cams were the deciding factor in dropping the case against a New Jersey man facing charges of eluding police and assault, ABC 7 reports. The incident between Bloomfield Police and 30-year-old Marcus Jeter began after officers were called to the home he shares with his girlfriend. At the time, no charges were filed and Jeter later left following a talk with officers. A short time later, police attempted to pull him over, but they alleged he tried to elude them. “When they got behind me, I pulled over,” Jeter told ABC’s Sarah Wallace. The video confirmed that was the case. Jeter can be seen in the video raising his hands above his head after being stopped, while officers aim their weapons at him and scream at him to get out of the car. Describing the incident, Jeter told ABC he was afraid he might have been shot if he got out. Later in the video, another police car joins the scene — actually smashing into the front of his vehicle. In that second dashcam video, an officer smashes the driver’s side window glass and punches him in the face while telling him to “stop resisting” and “stop trying to take my gun.” While all charges were dropped against Jeter, two officers were indicted for falsifying reports. A third pleaded guilty early on to tampering. It’s all thanks to those dashcam tapes. It’s the video that prosecutors say they never saw when they pursued criminal charges against 30 year-old Marcus Jeter . In the video, his hands were in the air. He was charged with eluding police, resisting arrest and assault. One officer in the video can be seen throwing repeated punches. When asked what would have happened by Wallace if the tape hadn’t surfaced, Jeter said, “I’d be in jail.” SMH at the police falsifying reports. ABC 7

Yet another racially motivated attack has happened this week at Ole Mis University… Black Student Victim Of Racially Motivated Attack By Peers At Ole Miss In the second blatantly racist incident at Ole Miss University this week, an African-American honor student says she was attacked by fellow student who threw alcohol bottles at her while spewing racial slurs. via Kulture Kritic An Ole Miss honor student standing outside her residence hall was the apparent victim of a racially motivated attack. Kiesha Reeves said she went out to her car to get something when a black truck full of loud, laughing people [whom] she could not identify pulled up and tossed an alcoholic beverage at her, according to the Ole Miss University newspaper web site. “It all happened so fast and I was so shocked that I couldn’t really see any faces, only the outline of the black truck,” she said. “I heard the laughter and words ‘black n****r’ very distinctly.” Moments earlier Reeves roommate had told her of seeing a black truck driving around yelling racial epithets. Police believe the incident may have been part of an earlier act of vandalism to the state of Civil Rights leader James Meredith. Reeves said the incident is not completely out of the norm. The residence hall she lives in suffers from periodic racial tensions, she said. First nooses around statues of civil rights leaders and now this? These students need to be reprimanded ASAP.

According to Rolling Out: Marlo Hampton and NeNe Leakes just can’t seem to stop talking about each other. Hampton is now dishing on her ex-friend via a blog post. As previously reported, both ladies feuded on Twitter over next Sunday’s episode that will show them arguing at a local event. Leakes threatened legal action against Hampton who apparently almost came to blows with the star. Furthermore, NeNe recently penned a BravoTV blog and accused her former bridesmaid of being an opportunist who befriended her nemesis Kenya Moore for camera time. “Did you see the opportunist that keeps coming around? wrote Leakes. “Did you see my friend just sit there and indirectly support this B.S.? I have worked with a lot of women over the years and the one thing that it has taught me is that life is like an elevator — on your way up, you have to let people off!” she added. Hampton clearly caught wind of NeNe’s words and issued a response via her MusingsFromTheBoudoir blog. “Let me start by saying that while Kenya and I are not best friends (we only met recently). I refuse to let others determine whether or not I should befriend her,” wrote Hampton. She has done nothing but support me and whenever we’re together we always have a grand ole time. I don’t need to sit in judgment of her.” “I’ve been called an opportunist, often! But honestly, who among us does not take advantage of opportunities that improve the quality of our lives and allow us to realize our dreams?” she added.
