American Horror Story Recap: The Traitor

Wednesday’s episode found our favorite coven of witches desperately trying to find some allies as the war against Michael Langdon aka The Antichrist loomed.  Cordelia turned to Dinah Stevens, the witch who we know is in Outpost 3 in the present in this time jumping series, and asked her for a meeting.  The meeting was with Papa Legba, but Dinah was not about to set that up until she got some cold hard cash for the inconvenience of summoning the voodoo devil.  Cordelia parted with $100,000 and got a lot more than she bargained for when she realized that Nan was working with the elusive villain in hell.  “I really like hell,” she admitted to Cordelia. “It’s fun! … I make trouble.” Cordelia’s plan sounded rather simple: She wanted Papa Legba to open the gates of hell long enough to trap Michael in there for the rest of eternity.  While Papa Legba seemed to like the idea of Michael being all locked up in his realm, he said she would need to give him something in return.  All of her girls would have to make their way to the dimension, presumably so he could harness their powers. But that was not enough for Cordelia to agree to the offer.  Instead, she pleaded with Dinah after Papa Legba exited the scene, but Dinah was open about that being the only way out for them.  While Cordelia’s plan fizzled out, we got to witness a whole new plan thanks to the addition of Bubbles McGee, Joan Collins’ second character this season.  The washed-up movie star could tell what people were thinking, so Madison reached out to her in a blatant attempt to make the first strike against the men of Michael’s school.  Myrtle and Bubbles indulged in a dinner party with the warlocks, and that’s when Bubbles learned the frightening truth about John Henry: He was murdered, and both men knew all about it.  John Henry was brought back to life courtesy of Mallory and Zoe harnessing their magical abilities, and John Henry had a revenge plan in mind.  Cordelia intercepted Ariel and Baldwin’s plan to send powder through the air to kill her and her girls and noted that the idea was stolen from a woman.  Those warlocks switched the gender and set out to steal the idea for themselves. In any case, they were burned at the stake alongside Miss Mead.  John Henry returned to do the lightning, but it didn’t seem to faze Miss Mead who was chanting that it was a rebirth of sorts for her.  This episode was transitional more than anything. It set the tone for what’s to come in the coming weeks as the battle against the Antichrist gets underway.  What are your thoughts on the latest twists and turns? Hit the comments below! Vicki Gunvalson Slams Castmates: You Losers Are Obsessed With Shannon Beador!

Maybe a year and a half ago, Shannon Beador was blaming Vicki Gunvalson’s rumor-mongering for her weight gain. Now, things are very different. On the most recent episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County , Shannon Beador flipped out . Vicki is riding to Shannon’s defense, saying that the situation was unfair — and was Gina and Emily’s fault. Vicki Gunvalson took to her Bravo blog to defend Shannon. First and foremost, Vicki set the stage for Shannon snapping the way that she did. “We were all miserable in Jamaica, as it was way too hot,” Vicki shares. She writes: “And the hotel rooms did not have air conditioning due to an air compressor being broken.” (I wouldn’t wish for even my worst enemy to be in Virginia without air conditioning. Jamaica? I’d have quit the show and flown back right away) “They were able to eventually accommodate us on the last few days and moved us to a new villa where it was nice and cool,” Vicki says. “I think all of our nerves were shot,” Vicki explains. “And things heated up and got out of control.” Now that she’s explained everyone’s frayed nerves and Shannon’s ponytail, she starts in on the actual conflict. “I think we should have calmly discussed our concerns or issues with Shannon, without going on the attack mode,” Vicki writes. “I’ve been on the receiving end of this type of argument when people go after you,” she says. “And it’s not fun by any means.” Vicki wants to make it very clear that she was not a deliberate participant in this, and that her concern about Shannon appearing to be drinking alone was genuine. “I told Shannon just today that she is in a much better place than she was six months ago when this was filmed,” Vicki adds. “And,” she continues. “I’m proud of her strength and accomplishments.” “It was taken out of context when I said Shannon has ‘rich girl problems’ when she was talking about having to move again,” Vicki writes. “She was not discussing the amount of support she receives,” Vicki clarifies. “Or that she was ungrateful for it.” Vicki says: “she was just saying she just got settled in her home and now she had to look for a new place.” You know what? That’s valid. Also, has anyone noticed how much Vicki is trying to hold herself accountable for her words these days? Good for her. Hey, so, remember that part of this week’s episode when Tamra responded to Shannon by screaming at her? Vicki remembers. “I don’t know all the history of why Tamra got so upset with Shannon,” Vicki says. “Other than what I have heard from Tamra.” “She was truly concerned for Shannon,” Vicki continues. “And felt Shannon wasn’t there for Tamra during that time.” Vicki continues: “I just think the delivery could have been a little ‘softer.'” “Like Shannon said, she thought it was resolved at their lunch date at Roger’s Garden,” Vicki notes. “So clearly there was more that transpired after that, which I wasn’t aware of.” As we discussed, Tamra no longer feels sorry for Shannon , which is quite a thing to say about your BFF. Vicki sounds fed up: “I don’t know why Gina and Emily are so obsessed with ‘being friends with Shannon.'” “It’s clear that they don’t have an authentic interest in her life or what she is going through,” Vicki assesses. “Nor do I think it’s fair to continue to talk about it,” Vicki says. “Friendships happen naturally and are never good if they are forced.” (Spoken like a woman who’s never used overt friendliness as a weapon to get her way, we take it) Real talk, though, Gina and Emily probably want to forge these friendships to cement their place on the show. “It’s like they are obsessed with talking about it,” Vicki continues. In Vicki’s eyes, “Just because they are hanging out with Shannon doesn’t mean they have to be BFF’s.” “My feeling,” Vicki writes. “Is to let it flow naturally.” It can be difficult to very naturally form friendships while on camera, however. “Shannon and I don’t see much of Gina and Emily,” Vicki shades. “So I don’t know why they are so focused on it.” In Vicki’s eyes: “For some of the girls to continue to prod Tamra on her friendship with Shannon when they knew it was issue is just plain mean.” “It is disingenuous of Gina to purposely try to drive a wedge between Tamra and Shannon and then claim to be some victim,” Vicki accuses. Vicki has a theory: “It’s like she thinks she is going to win Tamra over if she is friends with her and not Shannon?” “Are we in grade school?” Vicki asks. “Is this a game?” “Gina does not have the history Tamra and Shannon do,” Vicki says. “And my advice is to leave them be and let them sort this out on their own.” “They sure don’t need Gina’s advice on this,” in Vicki’s opinion. “Shannon’s situation is completely different than anyone else’s,” Vicki affirms. “Her divorce is nasty and very difficult to handle.” “Kelly stirred the pot by telling Shannon that Tamra thinks Shannon isn’t a good friend,” she accuses. “That’s not being a friend at all.” “She threw that out there and then walked away smirking, which is extremely mean,” Vicki writes. “It is NOT ok talking ‘crap’ on your friend behind her back.” “And,” Vicki continues. “When Kelly said ‘David must have been a saint’ is wrong and NOT ok.” “She owes Shannon an apology,” Vicki concludes. “As they are very good friends still.” Who’d have thought this time last year that Vicki would come riding to Shannon’s defense? Megyn Kelly Gets Roasted by NBC Colleagues for Racist Comments

Megyn Kelly just reminded the world that she doesn't know how to google the answers to simple questions. Instead, she asks them on live television. After a massive backlash,  Megyn is super sorry about defending blackface  and seems to actually understand the topic. But despite her apology, it looks like she's still not off the hook — even with her own colleagues at NBC. News anchors are supposed to report and discuss the news. In general, they really should not be  making  the news. But that's what Megyn did, in the worst way, when she  defended blackface Halloween costumes  in a discussion with an all-white panel. She has apologized and explained how the backlash opened her eyes, and NBC's Today had a group of her own collegues discuss the controersy. Morgan Radford participated in the discussion along with Al Roker, Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, and Craig Melvin. Al Roker says that her internal email is not a sufficient way of saying that she's sorry. “The fact is,” Roker says. “While she apologized to the staff, she owes a bigger apology to folks of color around the country.” Roker explains how, as a black man, this is very personal to him. “This is history going back to the 1830s minstrel shows to demean and to denigrate a race,” Roker says. “It was not right.” “I am old enough to have lived through Amos ‘n’ Andy, where you had people in blackface playing two black characters, magnifying the worst stereotypes about black men.” He refers to nightmarish caricatures of black men, performed by white men, that were used as weapons to ridicule real black people. “And that,” he explains. “Is what the problem is. That is what the issue is.” Craig Melvin doesn't mince words when he talks about Megyn's segment. He calls her defense of blackface both “stupid” and “indenfensible.” There are people in this world who might understandably not realize the historical implications of blackface. A millionaire television anchor who can and should read up on any controversial topics that she plans to address on television has no such excuse. Melvin also points out the fact that Jim Crow laws are named for a blackface minstrel character, a fact we mentioned recently when  discussing whiteface . Despite reports of an alleged feud, Savannah Guthrie clearly felt uneasy about throwing a colleague under the bus. “It is uncomfortable, obviously,” Guthrie says. “Because Megyn is a colleague at NBC News.” But it is that working relationship that made it so vital for NBC to have a panel discuss Megyn's controversial remarks. For the public, it's about education and illumination of an important topic. For NBC, and we don't mean to sound cynical, it's about making it clear that the organization as a whole does not defend blackface. Roker and Melvin both made excellent points, which you can see and hear in the video that we've attached. But it was Morgan Radford who arguably put the best spin on this situation. She acknowledged the historical weight of blackface while also presenting Megyn's words as a “learning moment.” Megyn, Radford says, “really gifted us the opportunity to have this conversation and a public discourse.” “We now have the courage and we have the platform to have conversations like this,” Radford notes. She says that these talks are important “even when they’re uncomfortable because we can see they’re still necessary.” It probably does not help that Megyn Kelly has a history of making wildly controversial remarks about race. She made these comments primarily while working at Fox News, where white nationalists like Tucker Carlson thrive. Megyn may be best known for having claimed that Santa Claus, a fictional character based upon a Turkish man, is white. As if she had met him. She also claimed that Jesus, a Middle Eastern Jewish man, was a white man. Her suggestion that blackface was acceptable when she was growing up — in the 1970s — dredged all of that back up. But, as we said, Megyn did apologize, first in an email to colleagues and then to her viewers. “The history of blackface in our culture is abhorrent; the wounds too deep,” Megyn acknowledges. “I’ve never been a ‘pc’ kind of person,” she says. “But I understand that we do need to be more sensitive in this day and age.” In general, labels like  politically correct  are useless, and hurled around by people who want to dismiss any struggles that are not their own. It appears that Megyn is learning a little more about the world. We wish that she, as the highest paid television anchor on the planet despite her ratings, would actively educate herself  before  getting backlash.

Ronnie Magro: Attacked By Jen Harley AGAIN?!

We regret to inform you that the tumultuous relationship between Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Jen Harley is still a thing. And it seems to be getting more dangerous and destructive with each passing week. Ronnie posted the above photo to his Instagram story moments ago, and it seems he’s implying that Harley once again physically assaulted him: “Sorry for lying to my friends and family,” Magro wrote on the pic. “Sometimes u love people so much [you’re] willing to lie and the hurt the people that love u the most to protect.” He tagged the pic @JenX, and while that’s not Harley’s Instagram handle, the message Ronnie seems to be sending is still pretty clear. Sadly, this has been an ongoing pattern in Ronnie and Jen’s relationship. The drama first came to a head back in June, when Jen dragged Ronnie with her car , a situation that was documented on recent episodes of Jersey Shore Family Vacation . It’s a frightening situation, but the good news is that Ronnie and Jen’s latest posts seem to indicate that they’ve finally called it quits. “Closure is a scam. Don’t text, don’t care. Just move on,” Ronnie posted on Instagram on Tuesday. For her part, Harley unleashed on Ron in reaction to a follower’s question about her relationship: “He’s lying,” Jen wrote. “I’ll prove it again, along with the car thing. I can’t deal with a drug addict anymore. It’s getting so out of control.” Hilariously, just days ago, Jen was reportedly griping to friends about how angry she is over Ron’s friends and their refusal to approve of his relationship: “Jen is really hurt that people aren’t being supportive of her and Ronnie,” a source told Hollywood Life. “There are times when she feels like everyone is against her and Ronnie and they are trying to tear away their happiness, just waiting for them to fail. It breaks her heart.” The insider went on to describe how hurt Jen is by the continued skepticism of Ron’s Shore housemates: “If she and Ronnie were fighting all the time she would understand all the negativity, but she swears they’re doing really well and are more in love than they’ve ever been,” says the tipster. “Nothing is perfect — they still have arguments — but nothing out of the normal because they’re both working on it. “They are doing therapy together and are really committed to working out their issues, because they want their daughter to grow up in a happy home.” The source went on to describe exactly why Ronnie’s castmates are so concerned: “Everybody’s worried things will spiral out of control before they finally decide they’re over for good,” the insider says. Well, they weren’t wrong about that one. Fortunately, the relationship is now over and Ronnie’s loved ones can breathe easy. Until he and Jen inevitably get back together next week, of course. Khloe Kardashian: FINALLY Ready to Dump Tristan Thompson?!

Another NBA season is upon us, which means Tristan Thompson will be spending much of the next several months traveling with the Cleveland Cavs.  And it seems Khloe Kardashian is not too keen on the idea of spending her winter wondering if her husband is sleeping around. As you’re no doubt aware, Tristan spent much of last season cheating on Khloe while she was pregnant with his child. Against all odds, the couple patched things up over the offseason, but it seems the peace they reached was tentative at best. Now, with Tristan returning his attention to basketball, it seems Khloe is harboring some serious doubts about the future of her relationship. “She very much seems over Tristan,” a source close to the situation tells People magazine. “Not sure how they went from fine to being apart for weeks, but Khloe is doing great.” The source adds that Khloe has not followed Tristan back to Cleveland, as was expected — but for the time being, everyone seems content with the current living situation: “It doesn’t seem to bother her that she isn’t with Tristan in Cleveland,” the insider says. “She seems to know what she wants in her life right now. And it definitely doesn’t seem like she wants to be with Tristan.” As for whether or not Khloe and Tristan have officially broken up , it seems the couple is remaining mum in the issue for now: “Khloe isn’t saying that she and Tristan split. It seems she hasn’t decided yet what she wants to do about their relationship,” the source tells People. “And she seems fine about this.” For months, we’ve been hearing reports of the Kardashians pressuring Khloe to dump Tristan , so it should come as no surprise that Kim and company are quite pleased by this development: “Her family is happy that she is still in L.A. and wants her around for as long as possible,” the insider says. “No one is pushing for her to go back to Cleveland to be with Tristan. This will be her decision to make.” But despite the dissolution of both her relationship and the dreams of a traditional nuclear family that have been with her since childhood, those her know her best say Khloe has never been happier: “It’s amazing to see what a great mom she is and how much she enjoys it,” says the insider. “She is very much just focused on the happy things in her life. The insider says that Rob is happy that way “and doesn’t want the extra baggage that his last name brings” “And,” the source says, Rob is leery of the added baggage that his famous last name “could bring.” The insider explains that Rob is afraid that he could lose this hard-won happiness “if he started doing shows again.” That camera shyness extends to even his family’s own claim to fame. The source says that Rob is avoiding being on his own show “or being on Keeping Up with the Kardashians on a more consistent basis.” In other words, it sounds like he is more than satisfied with being a guest star. That’s okay — not everyone is like Kim and Khloe and feels like they always need to be working on multiple projects. Cazzie David: Fans Urge Pete Davidson Ex to NEVER Take Him Back!

Grandson is over. By which we mean that Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson split , mostly because of bad timing. Now, some fans of Pete’s ex, Cazzie David, think that those two will get back together. In fact, they fear it — and are publicly urging Cazzie to keep Pete out of her life. Fans who admire Cazzie David are terrified that Pete will come crawling back to her — and that she’ll accept. “Don’t take him back,” implored one of Cazzie’s fans. “I REPEAT don’t take him back!!” For the record, she wasn’t saying that she would and he wasn’t saying that he was going to try to reconnect with her. “Girl we all knew it wasn’t gonna last,” wrote another follower. That follower continued: That relationship was pure lust. You are too good for him.” We can’t agree with the characterization that Pete and Ariana were only dating for the banging, but sure, that was part of it. Others didn’t flock to Cazzie’s social media to give advice. They just wanted to share their opinion. “Honey,” one announced. “You won the breakup.” That doesn’t sound like a healthy way to look at a breakup. “Yup he got his karma,” declared another. “Living the luxury life now it’s cut off.” Pete wasn’t with Ariana for her money and he’s not exactly a pauper himself, but okay. “If ur lowkey sad about Pete,” wrote another. “Just know that u honestly lost nothing.” That’s supportive but also mean. Cazzie and Pete broke up a relatively short time before Pete started dating Ariana. (Ariana had recently broken up with Mac Miller — the same good timing that brought them together became bad timing and split them up) Cazzie hasn’t exactly been outspoken about Pete’s relationship with — and engagement to — Ariana. Instead, she responded to the news with a tongue-in-cheek Instagram post: “Been in Africa. What’d I miss??” That sounds cheerful enough. And that’s no less than what we’d expect from Larry David’s daughter and a woman who’s an actress, writer, and comedian in her own right. Cazzie never even publicly responded to the rumors about Pete Davidson’s impressive dong . (But you know that people in her life had to be itching to ask her about it, right?) But we don’t see any reason for her fans to “worry” that she’ll go running back to Pete. First of all, they had broken up before he and Ariana hooked up. He just moved on really quickly. That happens sometimes. Second of all, Pete is reportedly deep in his feelings about this Ariana business. It’s always possible that he and Cazzie could date again, since exes try it again all of the time. But it doesn’t seem likely. News about Ariana and Pete’s split broke over the weekend. Ariana has also shared that she is stepping back from social media because she is feeling overwhelmed. “Ok today was v special and i’m so grateful i was able to be there,” Ariana wrote to her fans and followers. Ariana then announced: “Time  to say bye bye to the internet for just a lil bit.” “it’s hard not to bump news n stuff that i’m not tryna to see rn,” she explained. “it’s very sad and we’re all tryin very hard to keep goin,” Ariana concluded. “Love u. and thank u for  bein here always. ” When it comes to news that Ariana would rather avoid, it comes in two forms. One, speculation about her split with Pete. She understands that people are curious, but she just wants to avoid seeing it right now. We totally get that. Two, people are still discussing her late ex, Mac Miller, who’s death is believed to have been one of the nails in the coffin of her engagement. We hope that Ariana and Pete get the space and emotional support that they need right now. And we kind of hope that fans, well-meaning or no, stop telling Cazzie David what to do with her life. Shauna Sexton’s Mom SLAMS Ben Affleck: He’s So Old and Drunk!

It’s been a strange few months in the life of Ben Affleck. And it all seems to have started back in August, when Affleck started dating Shauna Sexton . While it’s unfair to blame the 22-year-old Playboy model for Affleck’s latest relapse (dude seemed to have no trouble getting hammered on his own), it’s hard to ignore that his latest fall from the wagon coincided with the start of his new relationship. Fortunately, Ben’s estranged wife, Jennifer Garner, was able to intervene, and Affleck checked into rehab shortly after he and Shauna began their bender together. These days, it’s unclear what’s going on with Affleck and his latest love interest. Sources say Ben and Shauna have broken up, but they recently vacationed in Montana together, and he’s still all over her Instagram page. So while they may not be officially dating anymore, it sounds as though Ben still has still involvement in Shauna’s life. And it seems Shauna’s mother very much wishes that wasn’t the case. Suzette Sexton recently spoke to Radar Online about her daughter’s new high-profile beau. And based on her comments, we’re guessing she wishes Shauna would find someone closer to her own age … who doesn’t have three kids … and who isn’t a raging alcoholic. “He’s my age!” Suzette told the outlet. “Would you be ok with your daughter dating a man with three kids, third time in rehab, and unstable as F?” Despite her many misgivings about Ben, Suzette says she’s encouraged Shauna to bring him home to Virginia for a visit. “He would feel right at home,” Suzette says. If only Suzette had added “there are moonshine stills for his drunk ass all over them thar hills.” She would’ve instantly been granted the title of 2018’s Realest Shade Queen. We kid Ben, of course. He deserves all the credit in the world for addressing his problem and taking important steps toward recovery. Similarly, it seems Suzette harbors no ill will toward Affleck — she just thinks the Oscar winner should find himself a more fitting partner. “We are a good family,” Suzette says. “We might not always agree with each other’s decisions but we stand by our choices and if it means to love another despite our faults then we do so!” she told Radar. Ultimately, it sounds like Suzette is a loving mom who’s concerned for her young daughter living 3,000 miles from home. And quite understandably, she feels that a newly rehabbed, famously temperamental actor isn’t the most stable companion for Shauna.
