John-David Duggar has apparently come out of the closet. No, not like that . You do know which famous family he’s a part of, right? Last summer, though, we EXCLUSIVELY reported that John-David was involved in a secret courtship . That may or may not have been the case at the time. But now this Counting On cast member has gone public with a verified courtship, confirming to Us Weekly that he has taken this very, very serious step with Abbie Grace Burnett. “Abbie and I are just so excited, we’ve known of each other for several years,” the 28-year-old told the aforementioned tabloid of this relationship, adding: “We fell in love very quickly and it’s been a wonderful journey thus far.” This exciting piece of news comes about two years after Jinger Duggar sort of claimed that her brother was involved with some other woman, as questions about John-David’s love life have been plaguing the Internet for a long time now. The guy is 28 years old after all. That’s like retirement age for the Duggars in terms of courting, marrying and then having many babies. He’s fallen way behind already! This comes as little surprise to anyone familiar with John-David, as he’s considered the most quiet of almost all Duggars and perhaps the one least interested in the spotlight. John-David is Michelle and Jim Bob’s second-oldest son, the twin brother of fan favorite Jana Duggar… yet you probably know very little about him. He works as a pilot, firefighter and sheriff’s deputy and he sometimes clashes with his conversation/controlling father. According to the now-defunct BurnettFamily10 blog that was once run by Burnett’s family, Abbie had seven siblings as of 2010, including a brother whose hyphenated name is strikingly similar to that of her future husband. On the archived “About” section of this since-deleted blog, her siblings are listed as John-Clay, Hannah, Caleb, Charity, twins Maggie and Carinna and Benjamin. And according to the TLC website, Abbie works as a nurse, which makes her a perfect match for volunteer first responder John-David. She also resides in Oklahoma, while John-David lives in Arkansas with his family. We wonder where they will live if they get married. “Big news! #JohnDavidDuggar has a special someone,” wrote TLC on its official Instagram account this week, adding as a tease: “Visit TLCme.com to meet the happy couple, and learn more about #AbbieBurnett.” Wow. While the world continues to come to grips with the loss of Anthony Bourdan, a key new detail regarding the celebrity chef’s death has been made official. Bourdain, of course, tragically took his own life on Friday . His body was discovered in a French hotel room by close friend Eric Ripert, who had been filming a new episode of CNN’s Parts Unknown with Bourdan in Ripert’s native country. Those who have followed this sad story closely already knew that Bourdain killed himself via hanging, and they already knew his death took place in the aforementioned hotel room. But French officials have now confirmed two more critical pieces of information: Bourdain hanged himself in the hotel room’s bathroom. He used the belt from his bathrobe to do so. Prosecutor Christian de Rocquigny also says that there are no signs of foul play. There are no indications anyone had entered Bourdain’s room at the luxury Le Chambard Hotel any time close to the beloved star’s passing. This should effectively end all official inquiries into Bourdain’s death. Questions will continue to be asked about Bourdain’s state of mind and mental history and what could have possibly caused him to make such a heartbreaking decision. But there are not many more practical details related to his suicide that remain uncovered. The French prosecutor did add in his report that toxicology tests were being carried out, including urine tests, to determine if Bourdain was on any medications at the time of his hanging. Said CNN in a statement yesterday morning: It is with extraordinary sadness we can confirm the death of our friend and colleague, Anthony Bourdains. His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly difficult time. Bourdain had premiered Parts Unknown on the networkin 2013 and won a Peabody Award shortly thereafter. He was widely respected for the way he paid tribute on his show to a wide variety of cultures and countries. Tweeted Italian actress Asia Argento, Bourdain’s girlfriend of about a year, hours after news of the chef’s death went viral: “Anthony gave all of himself in everything that he did. His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many, and his generosity knew no bounds. ” He was my love, my rock, my protector . I am beyond devastated. My thoughts are with his family. I would ask that you respect their privacy and mine.” Bourdain leaves behind an 11-year old daughter from his second marriage. He was 61 years old at the time of his death. His final act came three days after fashion designer Kate Spade also killed herself ; she did so by hanging herself in her New York City apartment. In response to these developments, the Mental Health Association of New York tells TMZ that its hotline has experienced a 25% increase in call volume compared to this time last week. The number has been shared by number of celebrities on social media, which the organization says has resulted in more people “being aware of the resource and calling the Lifeline to get help.” It’s simply awful that it took the suicides of two respected global figures for this to happen. But perhaps some solace can be found in the silver lining that people with mental health struggles are taking the necerssary measures to make sure they don’t end up like Bourdain, Spade and so many others. Kanye West should just go ahead and pose naked at this point. Are we dying to see the rapper’s most private of parts? No. But if the artist is looking to make headlines and garner attention, he’d be far better served at this point to just follow the lead of wife Kim Kardashian … … as opposed to doing all the nauseating nonsense he’s been doing for the last several weeks. It all started shortly after West confirmed he had a pair of albums coming out this summer. From there, he returned to Twitter and rambled on and on about making America great again, while making his affectionfor President Donald Trump well known to all. Then, he said black people chose to be slaves . We figured this was the lowest point to which Kanye could sink, and some may understandably argue that is remains the case. However, such an asinine comment was not personal in the way his latest actions are personal. To what are we referring? West actually went ahead recently and paid $85,000 for a photo that depicted Whitney Houston’s bathroom on the day she died of a drug overdose. (The iconic singer’s body was found in the bathtub of her hotel room on February 11, 2012.) The disturbing snapshot features a sink and vanity area covered in drug-covered spoons and drug paraphernalia. Why would Kanye want this haunting image? Because he used it as the cover photo for for Pusha T’s album “DAYTONA.” Gross, right? Houston’s cousin, Damon Elliott, certainly thinks so. “To do something for a publicity stunt to sell records, it’s absolutely disgusting,” Elliott tells People Magazine of the photo, adding: “It hurt my family and my daughter. It’s petty. It’s tacky.” Yeah. We can easily see why. Elliott actually worked with Kanye on a Keyshia Cole track and said he was stunned to learn the musician made this decision. “I’ve watched the train wreck happening, but I didn’t think he’d go this far in invading someone’s family privacy,” says Elliott, referencing West’s recent rants and raves on social media. Elliott wants West to apologize and to replace the inappropriate album cover. And if Kanye ever calls and the two can chat? What would Whitney’s cousin say? What were you thinking? Did you think this through? And if you did, why did you do this? Because you’re hurting people. It knocked the wind out of me last night. No, Morgan Freeman, insists in a new statement: NOT me too. In a disturbing new CNN report that came out this week, the veteran actor was accused by eight different women of sexual misconduct and/or harassment. The authors behind this report said they spoke to the eight women, along with eight separate witnesses, all of whom offered similar descriptions of Morgan’s behavior over the years. For example, one production assistant on the 2017 movie Going In Style told CNN that Morgan “kept trying to lift up my skirt and asking if I was wearing underwear.” He did until a co-star told him to stop. Then there was a senior production staff member on the set of the 2013 film Now You See Me who told CNN that Morgan made so many inappropriate comments about her attire that she stopped wearing tight articles of clothing around him. A CNN reporter named Chloe Melas even went on record with the charge that Morgan frequently looked her up and down and referred to as “ripe” when she interviewed the star last year. Oh, and she was six months pregnant at the time. In response to these accusations, Morgan said the following on Thursday: Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy. I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected – that was never my intent. Not exactly the most effective apology ever, right? He’s basically saying he did all this stuff, he just didn’t mean to offend anyone via his actions. Now, with his name being associated with others who have been brought down by the #MeToo movement , the 80-year old has issued a far more strongly-worded statement. He wants to make a few things clear. “I am devastated that 80 years of my life is at risk of being undermined, in the blink of an eye, by Thursday’s media reports,” he opened, adding: “All victims of assault and harassment deserve to be heard. And we need to listen to them. But it is not right to equate horrific incidents of sexual assault with misplaced compliments or humor. “I admit that I am someone who feels a need to try to make women – and men – feel appreciated and at ease around me. “As a part of that, I would often try to joke with and compliment women, in what I thought was a light-hearted and humorous way.” In conclusion: Clearly I was not always coming across the way I intended. And that is why I apologized Thursday and will continue to apologize to anyone I might have upset, however unintentionally. But I also want to be clear: I did not create unsafe work environments. I did not assault women. I did not offer employment or advancement in exchange for sex. Any suggestion that I did so is completely false. This is all well and good and likely true. But no one has accused Morgan of assault. They’ve said he treated women on set with extreme disrespect, basically viewing them as nothing but sex objects. Is this as bad as actually assaulting them? Of course not. However, the behavior is still part of a significant issue in society that is thankfully being addressed more and more often these days. It’s simply the issue of treating both men and women with equaly amounts of respect. Morgan is an Oscar winner who is best known for a handful of iconic movie roles. His most notable films include: Million Dollar Baby, The Shawshank Redemption and Batman Begins. Let’s hope he has learned some valuable lessons from the allegations leveled against him here.
