Snoop Dogg Gets New Gig To Pitch BLAST From Colt 45, Says Its Better Than 4 Loko!

This ni**a Snoop done put down the dank and picked up the drank. Look out, Four Loko. There’s a fruity-booze rival coming to the market — Blast from Colt 45 — and rapper Snoop Dogg is its pitch man. Blast, produced by Pabst Blue Ribbon’s Colt 45, is an alcoholic drink but does not contain caffeine, the ingredient that got Four Loko and a group of partying college students in trouble last year. Snoop Dogg, also known as Calvin Broadus, has been promoting the drink at various locations in Southern California with a bevy of attractive women wearing “Blast by Colt 45″ tank tops. Colt 45′s Facebook page also showcases a San Francisco party with hipsters drinking from glasses of bright blue Blast, served on the rocks. Pabst Blue Ribbon, the maker of Colt 45 and Blast, said the product will appear on cooler shelves on April 5. The Blast website says it will be offered in four neon flavors: grape, raspberry watermelon, strawberry lemonade and blueberry pomegranate. We f*cks with you Snoopy D-O-double-gizzle, but we’re not drinking anything that’s similar to 4 Loko. Thanks, but no thanks. Source

Jessie J Demonstrates The Dangers Of Nail Art On ‘When I Was 17’

British songstress talks about her early toy-store job on this week’s episode, airing Saturday at 11 a.m. ET. By Sterling Wong Jessie J on “When I Was 17” Photo: MTV News British singer/songwriter Jessie J kept herself plenty busy in her teenage years. On this week’s “When I Was 17,” the newcomer shares that as an ambitious teen, she signed up for singing lessons, and to pay for that, she worked at a major toy store in London called Hamleys. Working around fun toys and cute kids must have been a breeze, no? Not quite, according to Jessie! “I did ‘nail jazz,’ and so I was basically drawing snowmen, Christmas trees and smiley faces,” she explained. “And I used to lose my voice all the time ’cause I’d be like, ‘Hello! Would you like a nail jazz demonstration?’ ” Jessie’s voice wasn’t the only thing affected by the job. Because she had to paint so many nails each day, she actually injured her hand in the process! “It was hard work. I actually gave myself an injury. I had a specific muscle that I basically ripped, because I did so many nails every day,” Jessie says. Who knew working in a toy store could be detrimental to your health? Still, Jessie looks at the bright side of things. “The positive of the job was that now I can draw a snowman or a Christmas tree on anyone’s nails!” With her star firmly on the rise and with her debut album dropping in the U.S. on April 12, Jessie’s probably not going to be doing more nails anytime soon! “When I Was 17” — this week featuring Jessie J, Tyrese and Lupe Fiasco — airs Saturday (April 2) at 11 a.m. on MTV. Pitbull Talks ‘Getting Wild’ With MTV Spring Break Crowds

The Miami rapper says the Las Vegas spring break revelers are ‘doing everything they not supposed to be doing.’ By Jayson Rodriguez Pitbull and Sway Photo: MTV News Pitbull put on his best casino-styled suit for MTV’s 2011 Spring Break, taking his inspiration from “Sam Rothstein,” he said. The Miami rapper channeled Robert DeNiro’s “Casino” character and, like a good Las Vegas dealer he knows the house always win. That’s why he’s betting the money on things getting wild during his spring-break performance, which is scheduled to air on MTV on Friday (April 1) at 9:50 p.m. ET. “We about to go out there and show them everything they supposed to be doing on spring break, which is doing everything you not supposed to,” Pit said during his 2011 Spring Break Performer Diary. “Jersey Shore” stars Pauly D and Deena were in the house to see Pitbull get loose. “They getting loose,” Pit said about the crowd. “They getting wild, they doing everything they not supposed to be doing, so therefore we came through and did what we had to do.” Pitbull, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa and Lupe Fiasco made up the MTV Spring Break 2011 lineup, but the “Hotel Room Service” star was the only returning visitor. He didn’t have too much advice for his fellow performers, but recommended that they take a page from the co-eds playbook and go out there and have fun. “I don’t know if there’s too many don’ts during spring break — I think it’s all about do,” Pitbull told MTV News earlier in the week. “Who you doing and how you doing it. If you gonna be up there rocking the crowd, you have to give them that energy, you got to make sure that you send them off so they have an amazing night. They say what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, but I’m from Miami. Whatever happens in Miami never happened!” Related Videos Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Lupe Fiasco, More Take Over MTV Spring Break 2011 Related Artists Pitbull

Snoop Dogg Blesses YG’s Take On Chronic Classic

Rap vet talks to Mixtape Daily about YG’s Just Re’d Up Dr. Dre cover, featuring Nipsey Hussle and Tyga. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Steven Roberts YG Photo: MTV News Cornerstone Credentials: Dr. Dre (by way of Snoop Dogg and YG) Snoop Dogg once rapped, “It ain’t no fun if the homeys can’t have none,” and now that he’s achieved veteran status, he’s more than willing to bless the younger set. Newly minted XXL “Freshman 11” cover star YG recruited fellow Los Angeles upstarts Nipsey Hussle and Tyga for a remake of the Snoop-powered “Bitches Ain’t Sh–” from Dr. Dre’s classic offering The Chronic . The song is set to appear on YG’s forthcoming mixtape, Just Re’d Up , and Snoop gave the re-up of his and Dre’s track a thumbs up. “He let me hear it when we were onstage,” Snoop told Mixtape Daily . “And I love the younger generation. They don’t have to ask me or check in with me or none of that. If you want to use any of my music or any of my material or any of my lines — that goes for young, old, new, whoever — feel free. That’s what hip-hop is about: spreading love and sharing love. I never been one to say, ‘Well, he stole my lines; he took this from me.’ It’s all a part of hip-hop. It’s a culture we all share and love. If you want to get something from me or taking something from me as my young homey, you got permission. This is Big Snoop Dogg, you know I love the hip-hop game. YG, you know what it do; do your thing.” YG said when he was growing up, he watched Snoop, Ice Cube and others on the Left Coast put on for their city, and it’s something he wants to do being a part of the next generation. “I want to do the same thing when we start poppin’,” he explained. “So, I’ll be like, ‘Nip, you gotta mess with me. Tyga, you got to do some West Coast sh–.’ And it gets done. I’m just bringing us all together. We all do our thing, but I make it to where we do our own stuff but we can get it poppin’ together. So the city will know we’re f—ing with each other, and it’s all good. I’m really trying to bring back this whole West Coast on another level — some young fly sh–.” For other artists featured in Mixtape Daily, check out Mixtape Daily Headlines .

Snoop’s Doggumentary Coming To MTV Spring Break

Rap vet’s performance to air tonight at 9:50 p.m. on MTV. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway Sway and Snoop Dogg at MTV Spring Break Photo: Sam Hendrick / MTV News During spring break, you can be whoever you want to be: Names change, reputations are made (or ruined) and lifetime memories are made. Snoop Dogg , then, is a fitting performer for MTV Spring Break 2011 . Throughout the veteran rapper’s career, he’s been a Death Row inmate, a No Limit soldier and even a country crooner. “I always been one to try out different things that are abnormal, not what I’m accustomed to or what people would expect me to do,” Snoop told MTV News. “And once I find that, I’ve always managed to keep me within that and not try to find something so brand new where it took me away from me. So it’s still in the world of Snoop Dogg while experimenting and trying out new things that are different and diverse, whether it’s movies, whether it’s videos, music or new styles, whatever it is, I’ve always been able to do it differently but maintain that Snoop Dogg stigma within but without.” Snoop’s Las Vegas performance is set to air Thursday (March 31) at 9:50 p.m. on MTV. He’ll serve up some selections from his new album, Doggumentary , which features Kanye West, John Legend and Willie Nelson, among others. According to Snoop, the country set has embraced him ever since “My Medicine” and he decided to open up his arms to the genre again. “That style of music is so close to hip-hop,” he said. “People don’t even know country music could be hip-hop. We struggle, we stress, we tell stories of what we want to become and the terrible life we had, the drinking, the blues, the heartaches and the headaches. But at the end of the day, it’s all about good music, and the music sounds so good and feels so good and it’s so relevant — that’s how me and country music are able to cross hands.” What songs do you want to see Snoop perform on Spring Break? Wiz Khalifa Says Snoop Dogg Advises Him To ‘Boss Up’

Rapper opens up about ‘High School’ collaborator on ‘RapFix Live.’ By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway Wiz Khalifa Photo: Sohyung Kang / MTV News Snoop Dogg always walked his own path as a youngin’ in the game. And now that the veteran rapper has taken Wiz Khalifa under his wing, his advice to the upstart isn’t very different from his own mantra. According to the “Black and Yellow” star, Snoop told him to keep doing what he’s been doing. “He just always told me to stick to what I know, ’cause I know myself the best,” Wiz said during his appearance on MTV News’ “RapFix Live.” “And [he told me to] boss up in every opportunity that I get. Those are mainly the two key points that stick out. “Snoop is a big fan of what I do and, of course, he’s a legend to me and it’s just an honor for him to be talking about me, speaking so highly of me and sharing the same views. I witnessed his career, and there was a time when my dad wouldn’t want me listening to Snoop. But as time went on and he got to see who Snoop was as a businessman and other avenues of life, then he really grew to respect him. I feel like, as long as I do me, like Dogg says, in time people will get it.” The two green-friendly rappers joined forces late last year for Wiz’s “Black and Yellow” remix and later announced they would be shooting a movie together called “High School.” “We decided to go ahead and say, ‘You know what? Let’s do a movie and a soundtrack and just become, you know, bosom buddies and do what we do ’cause we love what we do and we love each other and at the same time, we know what the people want,’ ” Snoop explained. “The people want to see the two generations come together where hip-hop ain’t about old school and new school. It’s just about good music and making good moves and putting something out there that’s classic where people can respect it and say, ‘Yeah, so now, this was some gangsta sh– that really made hip-hop gradually grow to another level.’ ” Are you looking forward to seeing Wiz and Snoop join forces for “High School”? Lloyd Banks’ ‘So Forgetful’ Video Inspired By ‘Hangover’

Ryan Leslie says G-Unit rapper’s song is based on ‘personal experience.’ By Alvin Blanco, with reporting by Ade Mangum Lloyd Banks Photo: MTV News G-Unit rapper Lloyd Banks wants to bring listeners into the world of a rap star with his new video for “So Forgetful.” MTV News caught up with the Queens MC on the set of the visual for the Ryan Leslie-produced track from his third album, H.F.M. 2 (Hunger for More 2) , which was released late last year on G-Unit Records. “The way we put the record together was kind of how the video is playing out,” Banks said about the song’s inception. “I stopped by the studio, [Leslie] was working on a few sounds, and he plays everything, from the drums to the keys. So, he basically started, and I just started writing the verses, and it came to life.” Leslie, a multitalented R&B artist, does double duty on “So Forgetful,” producing the synth-heavy track and singing its hook. Leslie believes Banks’ genuine perspective on the song — he raps about bagging models and forgetting how they met — makes it one of the album’s better tracks. “What’s awesome about this record is that it’s a real personal experience,” Leslie said. “Brothers be on the road all the time, and we go to different cities, and it’s hard to keep track of all the cities and everyone that we meet. Real rap is the best rap. The fact that he was drawing from personal experience to put this record together, I think that’s what makes it … a super strong one.” Banks added that the song’s groove, and a certain Zach Galifianakis-starring movie, played an integral part in its creation too. “I believe in that when you building an album, every song should have a different mood,” he said. “When I heard the certain notes that was played, it just brought me into the nightlife. It sound like something that I could enjoy, the fellas can enjoy as well as the ladies. “Actually, I thought [of] the concept of movie [‘The] Hangover.’ I thought that was pretty dope how they had went away for the weekend and so many things happen and that was kind of like the metaphor. I was bringing them into the life of a rap star or an R&B star — what it would be like. Sometimes, you literally wake up and forgot how you got there.” Are you excited to see the “So Forgetful” video? Tell us below! Related Artists Lloyd Banks Ryan Leslie

Wiz Khalifa Calls ‘Black And Yellow’ Remixes ‘A Big Honor’

During ‘RapFix Live,’ MC says versions by Lil Wayne and Snoop Dogg ‘made the song even bigger.’ By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway Wiz Khalifa on “RapFix Live” Photo: Sohyung Kang / MTV News Wiz Khalifa might have been bummed that Lil Wayne didn’t mention the rapper by name when he was interviewed about his “Black and Yellow” remix, but during Wednesday’s (March 30) “RapFix Live,” the Pittsburgh MC called Weezy’s version — along with remixes by Snoop Dogg and others — a “big honor.” “I know when you’re an artist and you got songs on the radio, you figure that people hear it, but to know that someone heard it, went and got the beat and flowed to it,” Wiz told MTV News’ Sway. “I know that process. It was definitely a big honor. Snoop did ‘Purp and Yellow’ — that was big and it turned it from the Steelers [anthem] to the Lakers and made the song even bigger. That worked for me too.” During the mtvU Woodies, Wiz downplayed the situation between him and Wayne. “I feel like people have a chance to speak out and acknowledge younger people or people who are grinding and coming up in the game, and they don’t always take the opportunity,” he said. “That’s all that was. “There’s plenty of people who’ve missed that opportunity, there’s plenty of people who went back and taken that opportunity when they missed it,” Wiz added. “It’s never too late. It wasn’t anything negative; it just is what it is. That’s the type of person I am. I’m a realistic person, so I tend to say realistic things.” Sill, Wiz said he was open to working with Weezy. “Everything has to be organic and natural. I’m not gonna do anything with anybody that I don’t sit down with and share points of view and chop it up,” Wiz said. “That’s really important to me.” Which “Black and Yellow” version is your favorite? Daniel Radcliffe Says Final ‘Harry Potter’ Press Tour Will Be ‘Weird’

‘How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’ actor will trade Broadway for red carpets when ‘Deathly Hallows’ premieres in July. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Daniel Radcliffe Photo: MTV News The end is almost upon us. Over a decade after production on the first “Harry Potter” began, the final film hits theaters in July, and as J.K. Rowling promised Daniel Radcliffe , she’s not going to write more books about the boy wizard. That’s fine by Radcliffe, who has joked on many an occasion that he’s ready to leave the franchise behind, not least because there’d be something unseemly about playing Harry as the actor approached middle age. But he’s not done with “Potter” yet. There’s still the upcoming press tour for the second part of “Deathly Hallows,” which will require Radcliffe to step away from his new Broadway musical, “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” for a few days. And, as he told MTV News recently, transitioning from one show-business world to another is going to be strange. “In a way, it will probably be weird to suddenly have to switch out of the mode I’m in for this show and then go and do press,” he said, adding with a laugh, “But I can do that. I’m very versatile!” Being able to jump from performing to plugging and back again, Radcliffe added, simply comes with the territory. “I think any actor that does a big film or even a show like this now without the expectation that they will have to do press for it is very naive,” he said. “It’s part of the job. It’s as much a part of the job almost as anything else.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .
