James T. Hodgkinson has been identified as the man who opened fire with a semiautomatic weapon on Wednesday morning in Alexandria, Virginia. As previously reported, the incident took place around 7 a.m. on a baseball field where Republican Congressmen were taking batting and fielding practice. Five people were reportedly injured in the attack, most prominent among then Representative Steve Scalise from Louisiana . He’s been listed in stable condition and his office confirmed that Scalise was in “good spirits” upon wheeled in for surgery at a local hospital. Rand Paul was among those present during the attack and described the baseball field as a “killing field” during an interview on Morning Joe . He said the death toll would have been unimaginable if not for the swift actions of Capitol Police. Added Congressman Mo Brooks, who estimates that Hodgkinson fired at minimum 50 rounds before authorities took him out. “I see a rifle… I hear another blam… at the same time I heard Steve Scalise scream. He was shot… It sure as heck wasn’t an accident. He was going after elected officials.” It has since been confirmed that Hodgkinson asked someone close to the baseball field whether the man playing on it were Republicans or Democrats. As of 9:45 a.m. EST, Steve Scalise was in stable condition and entering surgery following a heinous attack orchestrated by James T. Hodgkinson. “We may have our differences, but we do well, in times like these, to remember that everyone who serves in our nation’s capital is here because, above all, they love our country,” President Trump said in a statement, adding: “We can all agree that we are blessed to be Americans, that our children deserve to grow up in a nation of safety and peace, and that we are strongest when we are unified and when we work together for the common good.” “Please take a moment today to cherish those you love, and always remember those who serve and keep us safe. God bless them all, God bless you, and God Bless America.” The President also confirmed that James T. Hodgkinson is dead from the injuries he sustained upon exchanging gunfire with officers. This is what we know about James T. Hodgkinson: – He was a 66-year old resident of Belleville, Illinois. – He belonged to a number of anti-Republican groups, including one called “Terminate the Republican Party.” – He was a licensed home inspector from 1994 to 1997 and also from 2003 through 2016. – Two days ago, Hodgkinson shared an angry tweet about President Trump on Facebook. It reads as follows: I Want to Say Mr. President, for being an ass hole you are Truly the Biggest Ass Hole We Have Ever Had in the Oval Office. –  He has been arrested or cited for such offenses such as: Failing to obtain electrical permits, damaging a motor vehicle, resisting a peace officer, eluding police, criminal damage to property, driving under the influence and assorted traffic violations. Hodgkinson also volunteered for the Presidential campaign of Senator Bernie Sanders in 2016. Upon learning this piece of information, Sanders released the following statement: “I am sickened by this despicable act. Let me be as clear as I can be: “Violence of any kind is unacceptable in our society and I condemn this action in the strongest possible terms.” Law enforcement officials say there’s no reason to believe the assailant had ties to international terrorism. Two firearms, a rifle and a handgun, were recovered from the scene, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives say. The shooting also wounded two members of a dignitary protection unit of the U.S. Capitol Police,. along with two members of the Capitol Police. All are in good condition.

Workplace sexual harassment is never acceptable. But it is even worse when it’s targeted at a 17-year-old. Honestly, this harrowing story that Ashley Graham’s shared sounds like it came seconds away from being a case of assault . We all know Ashley Graham as a stunningly gorgeous supermodel , but there was a time when she wasn’t so famous, or even an adult. She’s never shared this sexual harassment story before. “There was an incident on set of a campaign job when I was 17 years old … and there was a photo assistant who was into me.” That would sound like an innocent enough beginning if she hadn’t been a minor at the time. “He was like, ‘Hey, come here,’ and he led me into a closet. And I was like, ‘What?’ I thought he was going to show me something.” One of the reasons that people are so protective of minors is because their lack of world experience gives them a disadvantage when dealing with people who are older. Ashley Graham was basically an adult at 17, but clearly less experienced than this photo assistant. That’s probably why he targeted her. “And he pulled me in, and he pulled his penis out.” Whoa , there. That goes beyond inappropriate comments — also unacceptable — and goes into flasher-in-the-park territory. Except that flashers in parks are easier to avoid than coworkers. “And he was like, “Grab it.” And I was like, ‘No! That’s disgusting.’ I freaked out. And thank God I was closer to the door, and I just bolted out.” All things considered, particularly the fact that they were alone in a closet at the time, it’s a very good thing that she got out. She says that she never told anyone, but that’s not at all uncommon. Society pressures women to not “cause problems,” for a man, as if harassers aren’t the problem — just the people who report them. There are always fears that it might impact someone’s career. And of course the endless victim-blaming. Ashley Graham’s career has flourished, but we’d have totally understood if that encounter had caused her to quit the industry. Thank goodness that it didn’t, of course. But we all know that there are much shadier moves that people can pull to target young models. It shouldn’t get worse, but it does. And, just so that we’re clear, even if that tale hadn’t taken place in a workplace closet and involved a minor, it would still have not been okay. Outside of some very specific sex party-type situations, it’s considered polite to exchange words and even consent before genitals start flopping out into the open.

Kim Zolciak: Don’t Worry, Kash Still Loves Dogs!

It’s easy — and fun — to give Kim Zolciak a hard time, because, like most reality stars, she can be a little ridiculous. But her son Kash suffered a traumatic dog attack — just a little over a month ago. Now Kim’s shared the most heartwarming update on his progress. He’s doing so well! Keep in mind that the attack was so vicious that he had to go to the hospital  and undergo surgery. He’s going to be just fine, but still. Kim shared on Instagram that, even on his second day in the hospital, he was already happy to snuggle a service dog. And now she’s sharing photos of him on Snapchat.where he helped a stray dog that had just given birth. So, fair warning: these pics will melt even the iciest heart. Most traumatic injuries are accompanied by emotional trauma. In some cases, it’s important to learn from the experience so that you never repeat a mistake. In other cases, “learning” from your experience a little too well can keep you from enjoying life. Most of us have, at some point or another, met someone with a gripping fear of dogs. Sometimes it’s just an irrational fear, possibly brought about by — as fake as this sounds — traumatic experiences that their ancestors endured. Look, scientists are saying that phobias might be caused by that, not us. In other cases, they’re people who went through what young Kash did — they met one of the few dogs in this world that isn’t a being of absolute good. If you had a traumatic experience with the ocean, fine, you can just avoid going into the ocean again. It’s easy — we’re not in the ocean right now. Humans don’t really belong there anyway. Dogs, on the other hand, are part of our families and part of our society. Not being a dog person can kind of be a dealbreaker for a lot of future relationships. And people will totally judge you for it. Dogs are precious and being afraid of them is gonna get in your way throughout life. But just look at how well Kash is doing! There are grown-ass adults who lack his maturity, but this little boy is 100% down to snuggle each and every dog. Seriously, Kim Zolciak said that Kash kept trying to feed the stray dog his breakfast, because he is just unbearably sweet . We wish him the speediest possible recovery. We also wish that we knew more about the original incident where he was attacked. But apparently Kim’s being tight-lipped about it … well, as tight as those lips of hers can get, anyway … based on legal advice. That’s life, we guess. But at least dogs are still cute. So much for Selena Gomez and The Weeknd just being a fling. According to a new report, the singers are actually quite serious about each other. Just how serious? Let’s just say that Justin Bieber may not want to scroll down any further in order to find out… An insider tells Life & Style that Gomez is in the process of looking for a new house. But it won’t just be a house for only herself. Oh, no, it will be a house large enough to support multiple occupants.  And one of them will be The Weeknd! “Selena is going to be putting up the money for the house, and she’s going to spare no expense,” the insider tells the tabloid, adding in extreme detail: “They’re looking in Bel Air, Holmby Hills and Malibu. She wants a big backyard where they can host get-togethers with friends, and she’d love a pool so she can go skinny-dipping with Abel.” Man. This unnamed individual must really know Gomez well. Not only is he or she well aware of Selena’s real estate interests, but he or she even knows how badly Gomez wants to swim naked with her new man. Gomez and The Weeknd got together under somewhat controversial circumstances. The latter had dated Bella Hadid for about two years prior to their break-up last year. He then got together with Gomez, but sources claim Selena never told Bella about the romance herself; Hadid had to learn about it through the celebrity gossip grapevine. This was especially hurtful because Bella and Selena are sort of friends. They are both members of Taylor Swift’s Squad. But despite a bit of Instagram shade hurled in her direction by Hadid , Selena is moving full steam ahead with her relationship. It may be too early to hear any wedding bells, but the artists are apparently set to take the next step. “It’s going to be their little love nest,” a source tells Life & Style of the mansion Selena is allegedly set to purchase. Bieber has seem pretty disturbed by his ex-girlfriend moving on in this manner, openly laughing at The Weeknd’s music on Instagram, for example. But Gomez doesn’t care. She’s happier than ever. She and The Weeknd just returned from a vacation to Italy and it sounds like they had a grand time. “Their trip was bomb,” a source told Hollywood Life of their romantic trip abroad. “They saw some historical sights, laughed, and found this cute little chain length fence and put a love lock on it! Nick Cannon: Is He Going Totally Insane?

As previously detailed, Nick Cannon recently walked away from his main job. The entertainer quit as America’s Got Talent host because he was angry at producers for the way they reacted to a joke in his stand-up special this month. On stage, Cannon quipped that this gig was great and all… but it did make him worried that someone might take away his “black card” due to the cheesy nature of the NBC reality show. According to Cannon, executives actually thought about firing him for the remark, which led him to resign his post instead. In a lengthy Instagram message explaining his decision, Cannon wrote the following: “I find myself in a dark place having to make a decision that I wish I didn’t have to, but as a man, an artist, and a voice for my community I will not be silenced, controlled or treated like a piece of property.” He went on to castigate “The System,” adding: “There is no amount of money worth my dignity or my integrity.” Sounds pretty admirable, right? The guy left a very well-paying job in order to stand up for his honor. And yet some folks close to Cannon are concerned that the star isn’t strong-willed, he’s just falling off his mental rocker. Shortly after quitting America’s Got Talent, Cannon fired his longtime advisers, including ID-PR publicist Alla Plotkin and ICM Partners agent Chris Smith. Moreover, sources tell The New York Post that Cannon has recently “got really into religion,” donning robes and a turban and sometimes referring to himself as “Rev. Dr. Cannon.” It’s not unusual to find religion later in life, but this Page Six report says Cannon “isn’t attached to a specific religion so much as a general spirituality.” Which still doesn’t seem like a reason to think someone is going insane. However, Cannon – who recently spent several weeks in a hospital for complications related to lupus — spent last weekend posting on social media about depression and pain. To wit: That’s a whole different story. With an influx of memes such as the one above scattered throughout his Instagram page, we can understand why some folks are worried. Cannon’s manager has not responded to The New York Post after it tried to get in contact with him. But Cannon himself seems to be aware of this chatter. He shared the following quote by John Lennon on his social page this week: I think our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we’re being run by maniacs for maniacal ends. I think they’re all insane. But I am liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That’s what is insane about it. Don’t you agree? We guess? We guess we agree? Or maybe we agree with friends who think he is kind of nuts now? What do you think?

Deadline reports: Tate will play Councilman Rashad Tate, a city councilman from Jamaica Queens. Power follows James “Ghost” St. Patrick, a drug kingpin living a double life who in season 4 seeks to find redemption. Power returns for its fourth season this summer. Courtney A. Kemp serves as the creator, showrunner and executive producer of Power. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Mark Canton, Randall Emmett and Gary Lennon serve as executive producers.
