‘Vote—Don’t Dishonor Your Family!’ Watch Oprah Campaign For Stacey Abrams In GA [Video]

Jessica McGowan/Getty Images Oprah Campaigns For Stacey Abrams In Georgia Oprah sent a strong message out to Georgians today; “Vote for Stacey Abrams!” The mogul was in Marietta, Georgia today to campaign for the candidate vying to become America’s first black female governor. While there she told attendees who came out in DROVES, that she was there on her volition after scouring for Stacey’s number. She also added that she wasn’t paid for the appearance. “I wasn’t asked, I just called Stacy up three days ago. Yes. I didn’t even know her. I am an independent woman. I have earned the right to do exactly what I want to do. I’ve earned the right to do what I want to do when I want to do it. I’ve earned the right to think for myself and vote for myself,” she added. “Nobody paid for me to come. Nobody even asked for me to come here. I paid for myself and I approved this message.” She also shunned people considering not voting and told a story about Otis Moss Sr. who walked 18 miles to vote in an election but was told he was too late to cast a ballot. He never got a chance to vote before he passed. “When I go to the polls and I cast my ballot, I cast it for a man I never knew. I cast it for Otis Moss Sr., who walked 18 miles one day just for the chance to vote,” said Oprah.” When I go to the polls, I cast the vote for my grandmother who died in 1963 before the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and never had a chance to vote.” “For anybody here who has an ancestor who didn’t have the right to vote and you are choosing not to vote wherever you are in this state or this country, you are dishonoring your family,’ she said. “Honor your legacy and honor your right to citizenship in this, which is the greatest country in the world!” Atlanta’s Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms was also in attendance in support of Abrams. Magic happens when we use our voices to support leaders who share our values. It was an honor to join @Oprah in support of GA’s next governor, @StaceyAbrams ! Three HBCU graduates. Three women leaders. I don’t know how it gets more magical than this! #thelastweekend #Vote pic.twitter.com/tybReMYynd — Keisha Lance Bottoms (@KeishaBottoms) November 1, 2018 After the rally, Oprah went canvassing door to door. What would YOU do if Oprah showed up at your doorstep???

#TheCoolKids David Alan Grier Talks Playing A ‘Rusty, Dusty’ Man On His New Fox Sitcom

Earl Gibson III/Getty Images David Alan Grier Talks Fox’s “The Cool Kids” David Alan Grier  is making everyone laugh, per the usual, this time on Fox. The comedian/”In Living Color” legend recently chatted with Bossip at Roxbury Park after some Beverly Hills lawn club bowling, dinner and bingo for his new show “The Cool Kids.” David plays a “rusty, dusty” man named Hank who leads a crew of rambunctious retirement community living geezers who can’t help but get into wild adventures. Hank is joined by his buddies Sid, Charlie, and the very sassy Margaret, who bullies herself into the group and shows the boys she’s a boss. According to David, Hank is “very petty, very petty” and super hilarious. Not only that, “The Cool Kids”  differs greatly from his previous role on “The Carmichael Show” because of the humor, and because this time around he’s the only black person on the cast. The Carmichaels was so political and so cultural and that was really fun to do. This is not that, I’m the only black cool kid up in there, I’m an island, I’m holding down the whole race!” said Grier. The Cool Kids premieres tomorrow, Friday, Sept, 28 at 8:30 p.m. Will YOU be watching??? See more of the “Cool Kids” on the flip. Earl Gibson III/Getty Images

Joe Budden Says New TV Show “State Of The Culture” Will Be Nothing Like His Controversial “Joe Budden Podcast” (Exclusive)

Image via Ilya S. Savenok/Getty Images/Erika Goldring/Getty Images/Johnny Nunez/WireImage “State Of The Culture” Premieres Sept. 10 At 5 P.M. On Revolt.com & At 10 P.M. Sept 11 on Revolt TV Joe Budden says his new cable talk show will be like night and day compared to his racy online show “The Joe Budden Podcast.” The host, who caused a stir earlier this summer when he said on the podcast that drug abuse could be the source of Nicki Minaj’s recent Twitter antics , is making his foray into talk TV. He’ll join co-hosts Remy Ma and Scottie Beam for a new show “State of the Culture,” where they’ll break down the pop culture news of the day. “We try to go a little bit deeper,” Joe told us. “We just try to cover every nook and cranny, and hopefully we can execute on that.” And Budden said the new show, which premieres next week on Revolt, will be nothing like the podcast that bears his name. “My podcast is about absolutely nothing,” Budden said. “My podcast is about me and my friends bringing our group chat alive. There’s not very much structure. We just sit down and shoot the sh*t like friends. Our dynamic (on “State of the Culture”) is going to be very different from me and my friends.” The “Love & Hip Hop: New York” alum, who shares a baby son with former co-star Cyn Santana, said he’s excited to work with Beam and Remy and hopes viewers will learn something from the show every day. “I don’t just want it to be entertaining,” he said. “I want it to be enlightening as well, and every show should deliver on that front.”
