I made that b**** famous (God damn)” Taylor Swift let the world know she was outraged and didn’t approve. Kim and Kanye denied this for months and swore the rapper ran it by Swift first. Well now Kim K decided to reveal her master plan, dropping the actual phone conversation on Snapchat for the world to see. Swift was all aboard the song lyrics and even said she’d publicly endorse the song at the Grammys. As we know, that never happened. So it seems like she’s a liar and the Internet is finally getting her out of the paint. Retro-soul songstress Kendra Forster released her new self-titled album today featuring her single “Promise to Stay Here”. Bossip recently chatted it up with the Grammy award winning artist about funkadelic music, her work with D’Angelo on Black Messiah, and addressing pressing social issues through song. When talking about her single, Kendra says that this song embodies the way many of us have felt over the course of our lives when we think we’ve found our “soulmate”. I think it’s really about that feeling that you feel when you at least think that you found the one or your soulmate or whatever it is and that feeling that you have especially if you feel that way about each other that you don’t wanna leave that. I wrote this song 7 years ago and I was touring 85%of the year with George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic. And I had a long distance relationship with a young gent who was in school and really trying to find his way. I mean he was much younger than me by a few years. I was so in love with this person and I felt like they were the one. I’m always afraid of being the one left in love. So I was asking them to promise to stay here. I was promising to stay here. And then of course one finds themselves offering everything, the best of themselves in return. Like If you do, I’ll make it worth your while…the best of me you have that because that’s how much I love you. It’s about that kind of love. Did you like the single? Nick Cannon Releases Statement With “Divorce Papers” Despite reports that he wouldn’t sign off to finalize his divorce, we really didn’t think Nick Cannon was still tripping over Mariah Carey… and that’s pretty much what he says too, although he just dropped a freestyle that definitely shows he has love for his estranged wife . Check out the freestyle below, along with a lengthy statement from Cannon via KarenCivil : My purpose for creating this “Divorce Papers” freestyle was not to feed the tabloid chatter, or even to diffuse it. This was strictly a creative way for me to express my frustrations with the media, the naysayers, myself and ultimately with the voices in my head. One late night in my studio, after hearing the recent accusations against me and my character, I turned on my drum machine, found this amazing Willie Hutch sample, looped it, and went into the booth and let it all out. It felt great! I’ve been sitting on the song for almost a week now because I was really torn on whether or not I should release it. The last thing I would ever want to do is add fuel to the fire, especially a fire that was fabricated by the press. But, ultimately I felt it was necessary to clear the air and set the record straight once and for all. My Ex and I are in a great place and are diligently moving things along so we both can continue to be happy. I am happy for her and all her new endeavors, both personal ones and professional ones. I sincerely hope the media doesn’t once again try to manipulate my words or my purpose for releasing this song. As the world knows, I am an open book and I’m proud of that. When it comes to expressing myself, I take the fearless approach and that’s what I chose to do here. As Father’s Day approaches this weekend, I’ve been reflecting quite a bit on my life as a father and how I want to be the best one I can be, the way my father figures were to me. So with that said, I just ask that the public continues to respect our process and remain patient and loving as me and my family aim for happiness. What did you think of the music and the statement?
