April 27th, 2012 was clearly the best day of my LIFE.  I heard a while ago Justin was going to be in NYC on the 27th and I flipped out. I told my mom and she promised me that she would take me and my friend. When the date got closer, we found out where Justin was going to be since he was accepting an award at a Tribeca Film Festival for the Disruptive Innovation Award. It was all perfect until we found out we had a state math test in the morning and Justin would be arriving a little after the test was over. We took the test and once we were done, we went straight into the city and got to the event. When we got there, he had already went in 10 minutes earlier! I was so mad but I knew I would hopefully see him on his way out.  After waiting a little while, barricades were set up so it was a sign Justin would be coming out any minute.  At first Alfredo and Kenny walked by and got into their car. Everyone was so anxious waiting for Justin to come out.  About 20 minutes later, Justin walked out and came down to meet everyone. He had to walk down these stairs and as he was doing that, he said quietly “SWAGGGGGGGGGG”. It was my turn to meet him and I’ve been planning for years for him to kiss me in a picture and I was hoping he would said okay! I was like to him, “Justin can you kiss me on the cheek?” and Justin said of course and automatically kissed me and was like “MWAHHHHHH!!!” He made this huge sound effect and I was freaking out because he kissed me before I got the picture. I thought that during the picture it showed him pulling away already so I said, “JUSTIN!” and without me saying anything he goes, “YOU DIDN’T GET IT? AWWWH”. I asked him again, “Justin, I don’t think my picture came out, can we take another one?” He leaned in right away and he did that over-exagerated “MWAHHH” sound again!   He was so sweet!  My friend and I ran away screaming on the top of our lungs not knowing how to deal with our lives at that moment. I looked at my picture and was so confused why I was only smirking and not smiling! When your in that situation, you don’t even know what you’re doing, you don’t think, so that’s what happened to me. My 3  friends and I jumped into my mom’s car and we chased Justin’s car for blocks and blocks. At one point I jumped out of the car in the middle of the street and Justin gave me the peace sign thru the window! A few blocks after we saw that his car pulled over and Moshe got out to go into a little market or something. Justin was just waiting in the car with the driver.  Paparazzi surrounded the car from a distance and me and the 3 other girls casually walked up to the car and started to talk to Justin. His window was only half down and he said he was sorry for that, but he didn’t want the paparazzi taking pictures of him and we understood.  He was so sweet and kind, he could have easily said please get away from the car and the driver could have gone out and told us to leave but they didn’t do that. We spoke to him until Moshe came back into the car which was about 5 minutes into our conversation.  Justin politely said to us that he had to go and we let him leave.  This day, was the most amazing day of my life. I always pictured me meeting Justin and having him give me a huge smooch on the cheek and being so nice and looking gorgeous as always and that’s exactly what I got.  I’m so grateful for this day and everything that happened, it was a truly amazing experience. -@drobbbsbieber6 Go here to read the rest: April 27th, 2012 was clearly the best day of my LIFE.  I heard a…

My name is Kalise and it feels pretty weird writing this now. A few days before I met Justin I was reading other people’s Bieber experiences on here! Here’s my story! My friends and I knew that Justin was going to be in London so we went to his hotel and waited in the freezing cold for him (we didn’t care though, it was worth it). Then when he didn’t come outside, we left to go check out some other places that he could be at, but no luck. Already disappointed we thought okay, let’s go back to his hotel quickly just to check. After waiting for about 10 minutes, we saw his car driving round from the back to the road. Everyone started chasing after the car. I wasn’t sure whether it was his so I was a bit hesitant at first, but then I saw his head pop out from the roof of the car as it stopped in the middle of the street, which is when I practically flew across the car in the midst of the busy traffic! I was able to touch his hand!  I was overly happy at this, bit little did I know I was about to be even closer to him later.  We then found out that he was going to be at a secret location doing a private launch session . We quickly went there to find loads of other fans waiting outside for just a glimpse of him too. After about 20 minutes, Kenny came out and said he was going to pick a few random fans to come inside. I was waving my hand trying to get Kenny to notice me, but he walked past me several times, ignoring my frantic plea. I continued to try to catch his attention and finally I did! I was one if the chosen few to accompany Justin at his album launch. Overly excited I went inside with about 10 other beliebers and lined up at the back. Justin introduced a few songs off his new album ‘Believe’ which were AMAZING! Then after his interview with Reggie Yates, Kenny called him over to us. At this point I was freaking out, but tried to remain calm. Justin then came over to hug me and the other fans. I asked him to follow me on Twitter but it was fairly noisy in there so I don’t think he heard, so he just said, “Swaggy” .  Whilst he was talking to someone, he put his hand on my shoulder. I’m kicking myself for not reacting. I didn’t no what to do, I kinda just froze. After that he was talking to one of the other fans whilst he was standing sorta infront of/next to me and I wanted to hold his hand but I didn’t wanna be pushy. I just put my hand next to his hand so that my knuckles were touching the back of his hand and then he realized and just started holding my hand whilst he was in a conversation with someone . (That was actually my favourite part of whole experience with him) Then I said to him, “You know I haven’t eaten all day because I’ve been chasing you around” and he was like, “Chasing me around? And you haven’t eaten? You should go get something now, McDonald’s or something . .” Kenny then said to him it was time to leave, and that was it, my very own bieber experience and it was absolutely incredible. I just wish my friend (@SafiyaStyles) who also loves him could have shared the experience with me. In fact, I wish every fan could meet him.  I’m not gonna be cliche and say ‘Just believe, never say never’ but instead I will say, once you try your utmost to go out and try to find him, eventually you will meet him. Look at me, I had been trying for years. You will come across disappointing times but you just have to keep trying no matter how long it takes. Good luck guys, thanks for reading. Ps- We were not aloud cameras/phones inside incase anyone secretly recorded the songs but Alfredo did take some!  -@Kalise787 The rest is here: My name is Kalise and it feels pretty weird writing this now. Lil Wayne Explains How Failed Juelz Santana Collabo Became Human Being II

‘ I Can’t Feel My Face has now turned into I Am Not a Human Being, ‘ Wayne confirms to ‘Hip Hop POV.’ By Rob Markman Lil Wayne Photo: Hutton Supancic/ Getty Images It seems like we’ve been talking about a Lil Wayne / Juelz Santana collabo album forever. But when the much-ballyhooed I Can’t Feel My Face will actually drop is anyone’s guess. While Weezy’s 2010 jail stint definitely postponed the project, now Tunechi says when he got home, he reached out to his Dipset buddy to finally put their plans in motion. “I actually got at Elz when I got out and told him, ‘Man, I think it’s time we really capitalize on that,’ ” Wayne recalled to Amanda Seales of MTV’s “Hip Hop POV” in an outtake from last week’s episode. It’s more than six years in the making, but for a time, I Can’t Feel My Face was one of rap’s most-anticipated projects. Now that Weezy has put his legal troubles behind him, it’s Santana who’s facing drama after his New Jersey recording studio was raided in January 2011. “He can’t work how he wants to work because they shut down his studio,” Wayne explained. “I sent him some music and he didn’t send them back in the time-fashion that I work.” Never one to remain idle, Tunechi took the songs that he had set aside for the joint album and repurposed them for his upcoming I Am Not a Human Being II solo LP. “I started putting extra verses on those songs and I’ve moved on,” he confirmed. “Now what probably would’ve been I Can’t Feel My Face, has now turned into I Am Not a Human Being. ” During a June 2011 interview on “RapFix Live,” Juelz gave his own reasoning for the delay. “It wasn’t no one reason it didn’t happen. Me and Wayne always was on the same page, musically, as far as friendship-wise,” he said. “I’m just happy we didn’t let that get in the way of us being cool, being able to do things in the future; we ain’t let it get to us.” Would you still like to see a Wayne/Juelz collaboration album? ‘American Idol’: Who Will Be Crowned On Queen Night?

Where’s Colton Dixon when you need him? We share song suggestions for the top six. By Gil Kaufman and James Montgomery “American Idol” top six Photo: FOX Every year, there’s one “American Idol” theme week that proves to be the equalizer. Sometimes it’s disco night, or performance episodes dedicated to Frank Sinatra, Gloria Estefan, big band or Bon Jovi. Wednesday night’s (April 25) Queen motif could be the one that trips up some of this year’s most promising contenders. What a time to be missing the show’s resident glamo (that’s glam and emo smushed together) rocker, Colton Dixon ! Though both of us are huge fans of the pioneering British stadium rockers, is there any band whose music feels less relevant at this cultural moment? In other words, six seasons after Simon and the gang first took us on a trip down “Fat Bottom Girls” lane, it’s the obvious choice for “Idol” as the show steams — or limps — toward next month’s finale. All snark aside, Wednesday night could belong to Elise Testone, since she’s the only one left who understands the intricate velvety folds of late singer Freddie Mercury’s bombastic voice. Also, if it was up to us, someone would have to do a song from the hugely underrated 1981 soundtrack to “Flash Gordon” (AAAH-AAAH!) but that’s for another time. Of course, as is seemingly required by law, there’s also going to be a second hour of “Idol,” in which the top six will sing a song of their choice (like, it could be anything), so in anticipation of some “Killer Queen” and whatever comes after, MTV News’ resident “Idol” know-it-alls, Gil Kaufman and James Montgomery, are back with their carefully considered song suggestions for the remaining “Idol” hopefuls: Hollie Cavanagh Let’s get it right out of the way: Bottom-three squatter Hollie continues to live on borrowed time. Queen’s music is all about emotion and showy delivery, and the British cowgirl has proven time and again that those qualities are a taller order than, well, her. That said, she could soar with one of the band’s many rich ballads, such as “You’re My Best Friend” or “Somebody to Love.” For her song choice: Mariah Carey ‘s “Hero,” just because. — Kaufman It would be fitting if she did “Another One Bites the Dust,” since she’s probably toast this week. Instead, she’ll do one of Queen’s excellent power ballads, like “Spread Your Wings” or “Save Me” (even though America won’t). As for her other song? I don’t even know where to begin. When she auditioned in season 10, she did a couple of Miley Cyrus tunes, so I’ll just say she does “The Climb” again. Hollie really inspires enthusiasm, if you couldn’t tell. — Montgomery Joshua Ledet Josh has pretty much been able to sing anything thrown his way so far, but Queen could be a serious roadblock. Though their songs have plenty of flavor, it’s not necessarily the gospel-y kind he favors. He should probably take the safe route and put some of his soul on a big ballad like “I Want to Break Free.” If the Queen thing falls flat, he can redeem himself with something young, sexy and firmly in his lane like Chris Brown’s “Beautiful People.” — Kaufman He’s got the pipes — and the burgeoning ego — to take on the entirety of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” but he’d be better served channeling all those vocal histrionics (and craziness) into three-and-a-half minutes of “Don’t Stop Me Now.” And then we could call him Mr. Fahrenheit instead of Mantasia. For his second song, dude, I don’t know. He should just do a Fantasia song again. Any of them. — Montgomery Jessica Sanchez It’s been an up-and-down ride for the once-infallible Sanchez, but she should cruise this week, and I’m going to suggest she go rogue and sing the 1981 David Bowie/Queen collabo “Under Pressure,” which has a dynamic range that could let her show off those pipes. And she has to do Beyonc

Nicki Minaj’s ‘Starships’ Video ‘May Be Too Saucy For TV’

Rapper says the clip is done and should drop next week. By John Mitchell Nicki Minaj Photo: Getty Images Apparently, getting it just right is more important than keeping it especially timely. Nicki Minaj ‘s smash single “Starships” has been burning up the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks now, peaking at #5 a few weeks back and currently holding it down at #7. The pop-dance track was the official lead single (“Roman Holiday” and “Stupid Hoe” were promo singles) from her new album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, which debuted at #1 two weeks back. All of which makes the fact that there’s been no official video release for the buzz-heavy track seem all the more glaring. Heck, she’s already released the video for “Beez in the Trap,” technically the album’s third single after “Starships” and “Right by My Side” featuring Chris Brown. So when will we finally see the “Starships” video? Pretty soon, according to Minaj. “It’s officially done,” Nicki told the U.K.’s Capital FM . “There was just one tiny little thing I wanted to change, but I know at the beginning of next week you guys will see it.” But watch out, Nicki warns: “It may be too saucy for TV.” Pictures of the rap/pop superstar hard at work on the clip surfaced in mid-March, showing Nicki looking amazing while sporting green hair and a pink bikini as she filmed in an exotic location. At the time, Minaj told MTV News that seeing girls sporting her unique style has been an exciting byproduct of her fame. “I guess I am pop culture, just because what I’m doing seems to be popular. When people want to do what you’re doing, it’s kinda popular,” she said. “I don’t ask girls to wear pink hair; they just do it. It’s not about black or white; I think it’s just a statement. It doesn’t matter which color you are; it’s just a statement of being fearless.” What are you expecting from Nicki’s “Starships” video? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Nicki Minaj

The Wanted’s ‘Chasing The Sun’ Teaser: Watch It Here!

The boy band will premiere the full video tonight at 7:53 ET during ‘MTV First: The Wanted.’ By Christina Garibaldi The Wanted’s “Chasing the Sun” music video Photo: Universal Music Group The Wanted are set to premiere their much-anticipated video for their second U.S. single, “Chasing the Sun,” tonight on MTV. And before the British boy band introduce the full clip and answer fans’ questions, they gave us a little teaser. In the 30-second clip, the fivesome travel the streets of Los Angeles in the middle of the night, with a pack of girls clinging to each of the boys. Intercut with shots of the band on a rooftop singing the chorus of the track, it seems as if the group is literally chasing the sun. Coming up to a gated door, member Tom Parker flashes what looks to be a sun tattoo on his hand, and the guard lets him pass into the sunlight. Not much of the plot is given away in this clip, but when we caught up with the group on the set of the video earlier this month, they teased to their fans what they can expect. “Our song ‘Chasing the Sun’ is basically about the party that keeps on going,” Jay McGuiness said, with pal Max George giving a bit more insight into how that will manifest in the clip: “There’s certain shots which we’ve just done now which are on a rooftop, and then we’re filming all night until 6 in the morning, and then the last shot, I think, will be us just kind of walking away looking rather disheveled,” George explained. This is the third video of the Wanted’s that has been helmed by Director X, who previously worked on the video for their smash single, “Glad You Came.” “You always want to do better than your last song, and we’ve always set a really high standard with ‘Glad You Came’ already,” McGuiness said. “But I think we know now from the singles we’ve got in our pocket, there’s no way we’re going anywhere. We’re here to stay, and our songs are going to get better and better. I’m just bragging right now so hard.” Well, see if the Wanted live up to their expectations when they down with MTV News’ Sway Calloway tonight at 7:53 ET on MTV during “MTV First: The Wanted.” Immediately following the premiere, the band will stay for an additional 30-minute live Q&A on MTV.com and will be taking fan questions, so make sure you submit them via MTV.com or @MTVNews on Twitter, using the hashtags #MTVFirst or #AskTheWanted. ‘American Idol’ Top Seven Sing Hits From ‘Now And Then’

Jessica Sanchez gives ‘otherworldly’ performance after near elimination last week and Hollie Cavanagh finally ‘ruffled her feathers.’ By Adam Graham Jessica Sanchez on “American Idol” Photo: Fox “American Idol” opened Wednesday (April 18) with a recap of last week’s Jessica Sanchez near-elimination drama , but before the show could get down to the business of the top seven (round two), host Ryan Seacrest paid tribute to television legend and his mentor Dick Clark , who died Wednesday at age 82. “Now we can’t begin tonight’s show without acknowledging the passing of a television pioneer and my dear friend, Dick Clark,” said a somber Seacrest. “Without Dick, a show like this would not exist. He will be missed greatly; our thoughts and our prayers go out to his family. I know he’s in a better place saying, ‘Hey, let’s get on with the show, OK?’ You got it, boss.” The contestants sang two songs each, the first a #1 hit from 2000 to today, the second an old-school soul classic. After nearly being booted last week, Sanchez fought back on the “Idol” stage, first with Alicia Keys’ “Fallin’ ” and later with a spunky version of Otis Redding’s “Try a Little Tenderness.” “Your talent is so otherworldly to me,” Randy Jackson told Sanchez — or was it BB Chez? — after “Fallin’.” “I don’t even know if you know how good you really are, and how even greater you can be. I love it.” Following “Tenderness,” the judges praised her ability to connect emotionally to songs, and urged her to push it even further going forward. Joshua Ledet, who for the first time last week landed in the bottom three, also came back strong, earning standing ovations from the judges for both his songs, first Fantasia’s “I Believe” and later for Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come.” “You have stretched your voice to the limits of soul!” Steven Tyler beamed after “Change.” Praising the restraint he showed early before building to a robust climax, Jennifer Lopez made a plea to viewers: “Please, America, don’t send this boy home! Please!” All around cool dude Phillip Phillips took on Usher’s “U Got It Bad” early before tackling Wilson Pickett’s “In the Midnight Hour” in the second half of the show. Lopez called “U Got It Bad” “sexy” while Tyler exclaimed, “no chump love, sucka!” — a comment we’re still trying to decode. But overall, the feedback for Phillip Squared was positive. “You are Phillip Phillips and dude, you are the bomb!” said Jackson. After receiving harsh criticism the past few weeks — or at least what passes for harsh criticism on this rather tame, gentle season of “Idol”— Hollie Cavanagh came back big on Wednesday, first by belting out Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep,” perhaps the biggest song any of the contestants took on all night, and later with “Son of a Preacher Man.” “You finally came out of your shell and ruffled your feathers a little,” Tyler told her, while Lopez told the 18-year-old Liverpudlian she showed a new composure in her performance. Country-rock boot stomper Skylar Laine continued her hot streak, first with Lady Gaga’s country-fried version of “Born This Way” and later with a down-home version of Marvin Gaye’s “I Heard It Through the Grapevine.” “Every time you’re on stage it’s a party. It’s the Skylar Laine Rock and Roll Country Party!” Jackson exclaimed, while Tyler said she’s “like a wild horse that refused to be tamed.” Lopez complimented Laine on the “spunkiness” of her performance. Colton Dixon also got his Gaga on, doing a goth-lite version of “Bad Romance,” even though the song technically never hit #1 in America (it peaked at #2 on Billboard ‘s Hot 100). He later put an emo spin on Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September,” a performance that got him some negative feedback from the judges. “I think your voice is a lot more powerful than that song,” Tyler told him, while Jackson said the song was out of his comfort zone. Dixon, who generally gets good marks from the judges, looked a bit surprised but took his dings in stride. Elise Testone, whom Jimmy Iovine snarked “has a vacation home in the bottom three,” was also criticized for performing what the judges deemed an odd fit for her voice when she did Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On.” Earlier, her version of Alicia Keys’ “No One” gave Lopez her “first goosies of the night,” while Tyler got a little weird when he told her, “You sang your little tushie off tonight, it was delish.” Testone also revealed that back home her dog is sick and might not pull through, which could earn her some sympathy votes from the masses. Since the judges’ one and only save was used up last week, someone will be sent home on Thursday’s program, which is also set to feature performances by LMFAO and season 8 “Idol” champ Kris Allen. Kimbra Talks ‘Penetrating’ Power Of Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’

‘I don’t think either of us could have predicted the success of the song,’ she tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Kimbra Photo: MTV News When Gotye dropped “Somebody That I Used to Know,” neither he nor his collaborator on the sad breakup track, Kimbra , had any idea how the song would resonate with fans. When Kimbra stopped by MTV News last Friday, she told us she never imagined hearing the song on primetime TV shows and seeing it on the charts. The single (off Gotye’s 2011 album, Making Mirrors ) was covered by Matt Bomer and Darren Criss on “Glee,” and contestants on both “The Voice” and “American Idol” pinned their music industry dreams on the track. “I don’t think either of us could have predicted the success of the song,” she said of Gotye (a.k.a. Wally De Backer). “Used to Know” topped several Billboard charts, including the Alternative and Rock Songs lists, and peaked at #2 on the all-important Hot 100. And over the weekend, the duo performed the track on “Saturday Night Live.” “I knew it would resonate with people when I heard it,” Kimbra said. “Wally has a really great way of penetrating an emotion. But, you know … ‘Glee’ and ‘The Voice’ and all of these crazy pieces of exposure … that was really out of our imagination.” What makes the song stand out on pop radio, which is driven these days by dance loops and producers like Dr. Luke and Max Martin, is that it’s a mid-tempo ballad that pays homage to the kinds of songs that acts like Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins and the Police pumped out in the ’80s. “I think it’s a really exciting time for pop music right now, to see such a reflective, kind of vulnerable song shoot to the top of the charts, I think it’s paving the way for some really exciting artists to come through,” Kimbra said. “And I hope to be one of them, in terms of putting out my record here in the States. I think Wally’s doing something that’s really progressive for the pop world anyway.” Kimbra’s album, Vows, will be out in the U.S. on May 22. Related Artists Kimbra Gotye
