Like it has for so many things, South Park has changed our perception of Broadway forever. Now, whenever someone mentions The Great White Way, all we can think about is getting a blowjob . Of course, we think about that about fifteen times a day anyway… Regardless, the hummer hopefuls who shelled out to see Cynthia Nixon in the revival of Wit on Broadway had their pumps thoroughly primed when their leading lady went full frontal . Of course, she’s bald, and her character has just died of cancer, so it’s not the sexiest circumstance in the world, but hey- live celebrity nudity! You usually have to wait until their Broadway days are far, far behind them for that. Word around Hollywood has Russell Crowe officially committed to star in Darren Aronofsky’s Noah , with the long-gestating, big-budget biblical epic making its way in front of cameras this summer. Should be great — but can it ever really match up to Crowe’s legendary seafaring exploits from South Park ? The season-six masterpiece ” The New Terrance and Phillip Movie Trailer ” featured the South Park kids awaiting the titular TV spot while being subjected to Crowe’s reality show “Fightin’ Around the World.” The Oscar-winning actor/singer/pugilist traveled, well, around the world on his beloved boat Tugger, rocking and/or punching out people of various nations, backgrounds and persuasions. DVD: Futurama Holiday Spectacular (and Other Classic Christmas Home Viewing)

One of the most welcome resurrections in recent TV history has been the Futurama revival on Comedy Central, and if you missed the show’s brilliant comeback, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is stuffing your stocking with Futurama: Volume 5 just in time for the holidays. That timing is key, not only because the set makes a great gift for the animation/comedy/Groening fan in your life, but also because it features the three-part ” Futurama Holiday Spectacular,” in which the gang learns the true meaning of Xmas, Robanukah, and Kwanzaa. All of which got me to thinking about some other favorite sitcom viewing worth checking out at home this holiday weekend…
