Source: Prince Williams / Getty Trina ‘s mother has passed away, TMZ confirmed. The Miami rapper’s mother, Vernessa “Nessa” Taylor died early Tuesday morning (Sept. 3) after a battle with cancer. She was 62. “Thank you all for your kind words and condolences regarding Trina’s mother. It truly gives the family some peace and comfort knowing that ‘Nessa’ lived such a fulfilling life filled with love and abundance,” Trina’s rep said in a statement. Trina and her family are asking for privacy during this difficult time. Taylor was known as a “pillar of her community,” a supporter of women an advocate for “self-love, confidence, and perseverance among women in general,” and the woman who helped shape her daughter into one of hip-hop’s most influential rappers and businesswomen. Trina recently paid tribute to her mom on the 2017 song “Mama” featuring Kelly Price . The song also appears on Trina’s recently released album The One . She gave the Recording Academy a behind-the-scenes look at the music video, which paid touching tribute to Taylor. “My mom was kinda sick when I was in the studio making this song, and I was in a really down place,” she told the Academy. “I called her on the phone, she wasn’t feeling so good, so that inspired the song. I just went into the studio with all these emotions … and that’s how it came out.” “Respect, admire, love your mom,” she added. “You only get one mom in the entire world. You can never, ever get another one. No matter what happens, one only comes your way, that’s a blessing.”

As the initial category 4 hurricane has tore through the Bahamas and is headed to the continental United States, it’s clear from the current damage that the people in these areas will need help to rebuild. The International Red Cross believes as many as 13,000 homes have been severely damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Dorian. It’s difficult to determine the true damage because it’s hard to get in contact with people on the ground so these are rough estimates. If you’re looking for resources to help some of the area affected here’s a list of organizations that are prepping to assist areas in Dorian Path: City of Miami BAHAMASTRONG The City of Miami has created 16 drop-off locations to collect donations, fire stations and some churches. The city’s commissioner is hoping a near-miss so far in Miami will mean people donate what they bought in preparation for Dorian. They’re asking for water, canned goods and baby formulas. The supplies will make it to the Bahamas on Wednesday, if weather allows. World Central Kitchen World-renowned chef José Andrés is on the ground in the Bahamas getting ready to feed the people of there. He hopes to be able to be in the impacted areas by tonight. If kitchens are destroyed, his World Central Kitchen will build a makeshift one and cook in big paella pans. World known chef, Jose Andres, just touched down to aide in preparing to feed those effected in the Bahamas. Numerous amounts of kitchens are wiped out and his World Central Kitchen will create a ‘makeshift one and cook in big paella pans’. World Central Kitchen has aided in efforts to help Hurricane Maria; millions of people have been a product of Andres and others collectively. World Central Kitchen has provided relief efforts for past storms, including in Puerto Rico for Hurricane Maria . Andrés and others collectively helped feed 3.6 million people. Humane Society of the United States The Humane Society of the United States has stepped in to help evacuate animals from animal shelters across Florida as Hurricane Dorian makes its way towards the east coast. Already, the organization has helped transport 80 animals that they hope to put up for adoption. The Humane Society of the United States decided to aide in getting animals from shelters across the Florida region as Hurricane Dorian Save The Children Save The Children said it will be working with local organizations to assist in reopening childcare and education programs in areas impacted by Hurricane Dorian. The nonprofit has provided relief for multiple storms in the past, most recently assisting more than 25,000 children and adults in the wake of 2018’s Hurricane Michael. In addition to on-the-ground support, Save The Children also provides resources ahead of storms making landfall. International Relief Teams International Relief Teams has more than 1,000 disaster health kits at the ready for residents of Florida who may be impacted by Hurricane Dorian. The organization said it has been providing “humanitarian aid, including food, medicine, and relief supplies to families worldwide since 1988.” That includes in the wake of major natural disasters. In 2017, International Relief Teams shipped more than $47,000 ready-to-eat meals to partner organizations in Victoria, Texas, in the wake of Hurricane Harvey , amounting to more than 4,600 meals. International Medical Corps International Medical Corps is assisting the Florida Department of Health with medical care in the state as it braces for Hurricane Dorian. The NGO provides “emergency services to vulnerable populations following” a storm making landfall. Its team is also working with authorities in North Carolina, a state that is predicted to sustain intense winds and substantial rainfall as Dorian makes its way up the east coast. International Medical Corps has previously provided assistance in Puerto Rico during Hurricanes Maria and Irma, where the organization helped at dozens of health clinics and continues to provide support for 26 facilities, reaching more than 63,000 patients.

He also left his fellow Bachelor in Paradise contestants questioning their feelings, themselves and their place on the show in general. In particular, we write here about Tayshia Adams and Blake Horstmann and their reaction yesterday evening to Derek’s stunning departure. Tayshia, for instance, wasn’t certain how she felt about John Paul Jones in the wake of the Derek decision, while Blake had started to realizie his chances of finding love in Mexico were slim to, quite possibly, none. Yes, Adams admitted, she had a “soft spot” for Jones — but what did that really mean in the bigger picture? As for Horstmann? He had an epiphany on Tuesday’s episode and actually convinced himself that Kristina Schulman was the woman he had been searching for all along. “We always gravitate toward each other,” he told viewers on air. “Maybe we owe each other this, to give it a shot.” Suddenly inspirde, Blake grabbed Kristina for a chat and told her he was “all in” and totally sure of it… at the moment. “I thought I just wanted to be friends with you, I did,” he said. “And here I am, saying that I can’t stop thinking about you. It’s driving me f—ing crazy and it’s terrifying.” Could Kristina actually trust the guy responsible for so much drama this season ? And yet: Blake stuck to his word, nicely declining Bri’s date card. She ended up going surfing with fellow newcomer Matt Donald, while Blake desperately – and unsuccessfully – attempted to break down Kristina’s walls back at the bungalows. At last, we get to Caelynn Miller-Keyes and Connor Saeli (from Hannah Brown‘s season of The Bachelorette), two people looking for love and no drama. “I came here for a relationship, and finally, I feel good,” Caelynn said at one point. “Connor and I are exploring what we have, and I’m happy. I deserve this after the hell that I’ve been through.” However, all was about to change. Just when it seemed as if nothing could go wrong, a freshly-shaven Dean Unglert made his totally unexpected return (!!!!!!!!!!) to beg Caelynn for another chance after dumping her — just a week ago. “When I left, I made a decision that I thought was best for you, but it wasn’t really fair of me to make that decision,” he explained, adding: “Then I flew back to San Diego, and the entire flight back I literally could not stop thinking about you. I rented a car and drove to the Grand Canyon, and as I was there I thought about how badly I wished that you were there with me.” How sweet and not remotely scripted, right? “I knew that I needed to come here and tell you that I wanted us to try and be in a relationship,” Dean added. “I came here to ask you if you would leave Paradise with me today.” Wow, huh? Caelynn didn’t know what to say or what to do. “Right now, I’m the most confused I’ve ever been in my entire life. The S hea Butter Baby vocalist tweeted a series of thoughts in support of the LGBTQ community after an unknown situation prompted her to speak out. “I hate homophobic and transphobic people so much,” she began. If you’re homophobic and transphobic idfwu,” she wrote. “Please if you don’t support [the] LGBTQ community, you don’t support me,” Lennox continued. “You don’t support my family and the people I love. So all you delusional and fake-religious/self-righteous weirdos unfollow and unsubscribe.” “To be gay is beautiful. It is natural. One doesn’t have to experience trauma to be gay,” Lennox writes, dismantling the argument that anyone who is LGBTQ came to be so because of some type of sexual perversion. “Yes I believe people are born that way. But her argument became personal once she shared her experience of watching her sister be ostracized by family members for marrying a woman. “I have family members that didn’t show up to meh own sister’s wedding because she married a woman. You can’t support your own flesh and blood because of unhealthy condition from religion and media. People really live their short lives in a mental prison, she continued. “People were gay from the beginning of time and will be long after we are gone,” she wrote in her last tweet. There are so many of us with mother’s father’s, aunties, uncles, cousins, whom have had to live a double life in order to shield themselves from disdain all because of who they love. Until we can love and respect one another in dismantling internalized notions of respectability and white supremacy, we will never truly be free.
