Kody and Janelle Brown Put Feud Aside… To Welcome Grandchild!

In one sense, the future looks a little bleak for Kody and Janelle Brown. As a romantic couple, that is. In another sense, however, the future is bright and amazing and even totally miraculous for Kody and Janelle Brown…  because they just welcomed a grandchild together! On Friday, August 30, Sister Wives fans learned that the pair’s daughter, Maddie, gave birth several days earlier to a little girl. We know this because Janelle herself alerted followers on Instagram, posting the photo below and including with it a caption that reads as follows: Axel loves his new little sister Evie (Short for Evangalynn)! Please tell me that other grandmothers can stare at their grandkids photos forever. #grandkids. For those unaware: Janelle is Kody’s second wife, with whom he has six kids. By all accounts, it appears as if Janelle was present in North Carolina when her granddaughter arrived, although it’s unclear if the same can be said about Kody. We somehow doubt he was there. Lately, according to a wide variety of sources and outlets, there has been tension between Janelle, Kody and his other wives: Meri, Christine and Robyn. There’s even been talk that Kody may be in the market for a fifth wife as a result. As previously reported, Janelle spent Mother’s Day without Kody, seeming “very lonely,” a Radar Online insider said this past spring. Then, on Father’s Day, Janelle left town to hang out with friends and family in Virginia, fueling even more chatter about this romance being on thin ice. Of all Kody’s wives, Janelle has typically been the least likely to speak out and/or to stir up any sort of controversy — but she did make headlines just a few weeks ago. In mid-August, Janelle shared a photo online of her grandson , Axel, giving us a look at the toddler playing in a splash pad and eating breakfast … and looking downright adorable. Was this merely an example of a proud grandmother? Probably. But some Sister Wives fans have read a lot into the picture, thinking Janelle may have released it as a way to hint that everything is totally fine between her and Kody. See , she could have been saying, nothing to see here! I’m happy and content and drama-free! Who the heck knows for certain, though, right? Overall, Kody’s marriages almost all seem to be on the rocks. Meri has been unhappy for years and even Robyn may be moving away from the family in Arizona. As for Janelle? Yes, she has remained very quiet over the years. In the family’s 2012 book Becoming Sister Wives: The Story of An Unconventional Marriage , though, Janelle discussed living with Kody. “Our main problem was that we all lived under one roof, which never allowed me sufficient alone time with Kody,” she wrote back then. “Kody didn’t know how to behave as my husband in Meri’s house.” She continued at that time: “When we watched a movie together at night, Kody and Meri would sit together on the couch while I felt left out in the cold. “So I learned to separate myself. I began to physically distance myself as much as I could in our very small three-bedroom mobile home. “I didn’t spend much time in the common areas, instead setting up my bedroom as the living space.” This whole set-up just seems so unhealthy for all the women involved. Middle Schooler Provides Classmates In Need With Clothes And School Supplies

A middle schooler from Louisiana is paying it forward by ensuring that his classmates have basic necessities to start the school year. To help students in need, 13-year-old Chase Neyland-Square created a closet at his school to provide them with free clothes and school supplies, CBS News reported. 13-year-old creates school closet to give clothes and supplies to classmates in need https://t.co/UCP3CBbjmD pic.twitter.com/pAre3ssKCa — CBS News (@CBSNews) August 30, 2019 Neyland-Square—an eighth-grader at Port Allen Middle School—came up with the concept for the project while participating in the school’s SPARK (Student Program for Arts, Recreation, and Knowledge) program. He and other students were tasked with developing ideas for social good initiatives that would benefit the school and the local community. Aware of the struggles faced by some of his peers, Neyland-Square decided to transform one of the closets at his school into PAM’s Pantry; a space that houses donated clothes, shoes, personal care and hygiene products and school supplies for students and their families. “I know that everybody doesn’t have things and I’m fortunate to have things that other people don’t have, and I look at it as sometimes, how would I feel in that situation?” he said in a statement, according to the news outlet. “I’m going to come back and continue working on PAM’s Pantry. I’m hoping one day I can turn it into a non-profit organization.” Initiatives like the one being led by Neyland-Square are needed. According to the National Center for Children in Poverty , 15 million children throughout the country live in extreme poverty and are unable to afford school supplies. Several youngsters are leading their own philanthropic efforts to help people in need. In celebration of their birthday, Alabama-based 12-year-olds Breanna and Brooke Bennett launched an initiative designed to provide care packages that include hygiene products for girls their age. In North Carolina, a 3-year-old entrepreneur donated the sales from her lemonade stand to help homeless mothers and children. City Of Atlanta Raises $50 Million To Create Homes For The Homeless

T he city of Atlanta has made a major stride in combating homelessness. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution , Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced that $50 million has been raised to build houses for over 500 families who are without shelter. Mayor @KeishaBottoms announced that Atlanta had reached its goal of raising $50 million to provide 550 homes for the city’s homeless population. https://t.co/qeBTn1YlE5 — AJC (@ajc) August 26, 2019 The HomeFirst Atlanta initiative—which was launched in 2017 when former Mayor Kasim Reed was in office—was created after Atlanta’s largest shelter shuttered. The shelter served over 500 individuals each night. In an effort to develop a sustainable solution for the homeless population, community leaders and political officials teamed up with the United Way Regional Commission on Homelessness and Invest Atlanta to develop a fund that would provide housing so that individuals could focus on rebuilding their lives. Half of the $50 million came from the Homeless Opportunity Bond sale led by Reed and the rest of the funds were from private donors. Bottoms believes that this collaborative effort will make lasting changes in the lives of individuals who need assistance. “HomeFirst will create 550 units of permanent supportive housing that will be part of larger developments that will contribute, in aggregate, more than 2,500 units of affordable housing,” she said in a statement, according to The Atlanta Voice . “We are building a compassionate community of trusted partners who approach homelessness in a strategic, transparent and accountable way. The results show that it is working.” Organizers of the initiative are aiming to make resources more accessible for those struggling with homelessness. “It is a miss-perception that many people have: that homelessness is represented entirely by the people they see on the streets,” Jack Hardin , Co-Chair of the Atlanta Regional Commission on Homelessness told the news outlet. “A far larger proportion of people experiencing homelessness have incomes and function at very high levels, but live on the margins of the economics of our society and any hardship can derail.” There have been several projects launched in Atlanta to combat the city’s homelessness issue. Earlier this year, Gwinnett officials awarded nearly $1 million to an organization that had plans to build two shelters in the county. Jana and Joy-Anna Duggar Share Spa Day Following Miscarriage

It’s great to be able to lean on family in trying times. That’s exactly what Joy-Anna Duggar is doing in the wake of her heartbreaking miscarriage . This week Jana Duggar pulled a classic move to help Joy-Anna unwind and beat the blues. That’s right, it’s a Girls Day, Duggar sisters style. On Wednesday, Jana treated Joy-Anna to a salon session. Joy was sure to post the outing on her Instagram.  The 21-year old had taken a moment of social media silence after the miscarriage but she’s recently resurfaced , showing fans that she’s hanging in there. Both of the girls look cheerful in Joy-Anna’s post. The sisters are smiling for the camera and sitting back in big, squishy salon chair. It would be hard not to feel perked up in a room so brightly lit and full of potted flowers. “She took me to lunch, nails, coffee, & shopping!” Joy exclaimed in the caption for her post. She included a few emoji to help illustrate the story of her day: a salad, nail polish, a coffee cup, and a shopping cart. Joy was clearly grateful for the good time, and thanked Jana and Anna in her caption for helping to make it all happen. “Thank you, @janamduggar for spoiling me today!” She captioned. “And thank you @annaduggar for keeping Gideon!” She added. One of the perks of a big, tight-knit family is the built-in daycare service. Finally, Joy closed out her post with some hashtags: #greattimegreattalks, #iloveyou, #shespoilsme These sure sound like the words of someone who had a wonderful day, and really needed it. Joy’s fans and friends got the same impression, with many writing in to voice their love and support. “Aww, Joy,” Jana wrote back, “You’re too kind.” “I love you so much!” she added, with a kissing and heart emoji. It sounds like thing went really well with Anna back at home, too. “Y’all need to do this more often!” Anna wrote in the comments. “Gideon is the happiest little boy ever!” she exclaimed. She added, “We had a great time with him!” along with some pink hearts. Another comment came from Lauren and Josiah Duggar’s joint account. “Sister dates are the best!” they captioned. “So glad y’all got to do this!” Josiah and Lauren have a better idea than most what Joy must be going through.  The couple experienced a devastating miscarriage of their own last October. We’re so relieved to see Joy-Anna out on the town with loved ones. We know she’s been handling the aftermath of her miscarriage about as well as anyone could hope. Anyone would be depressed and heartbroken after losing a child. Joy clearly finds a lot of strength from her devout faith, but she’s fortunate to have a great support network in her family too. Kelly Dodd and Dr. Brian Reagan: It’s Over!

A number of The Real Housewives of Orange County castmates seem to agree: Kelly Dodd is the one to beat this season. But Kelly has her own life outside of the show, and has just made one major change. She and Dr. Brian Reagan have broken up, though it's not entirely clear who made that call. Kelly Dodd was clearly enjoying herself on a girls' night out when she took to her Instagram Stories to share some news. “The universe is telling me I broke up with Dr. Brian, woo!” Kelly announced. Disclaimer: despite her demeanor and the way that she repeated things, we cannot speak to whether or not she had been drinking. “And,” Kelly continued. “They all know why.” “This is why I’m breaking up with Brian for good,” she said without further explanation. “This is the last time,” Kelly continued, speaking on her Instagram Story. That sort of declaration could refer to anything from being late to dinner to domestic abuse and all that falls in between. “No going back to this a–hole,” she affirmed. “At all.” “Here’s our song. I broke up with Dr. Brian,” Kelly announced as Queen's “Another One Bites The Dust played. Triumphantly, she declared: “Another one bites the dust!” Late on Thursday, Kelly took to a regular Instagram post a more … calm and thoughtful acknowledgement of the split. “Dr. Brian Reagan posted that we broke up,” Kelly's caption begins. That's a very different tone than we were hearing in her Stories, and almost seems to imply that it was his call and not hers. “I’m deeply saddened,” she continues. “And I only wish him the best !!” “Good Luck,” Kelly expressed. “You are a talented surgeon!! I loved you deeply.” Just a little over a week ago, Kelly was singing a very different tune as she spoke to Us Weekly . “We have fun together,” Kelly shared. “And,” she continued. “We love our families together and we blend their families.” Kelly added that she felt “like we have a modern family.” “My daughter loves him,” she added. “And I love his son.” “There’s just so many benefits,” Kelly referred to in terms of dating Dr. Brian. One such benefit, she pointed out, was that “he lives in La Jolla.” “So it’s fun to go to La Jolla,” Kelly assessed. “Just a change of atmosphere.” However, Kelly apparently realized that Dr. Brian was benefitting from their relationship, too. “He wanted his business on the show. I was just a means to get there,” Kelly alleged in comments. “And I only realized that after I caught him cheating on me,” she lamented. “And realized he's been seeing someone else all along.” Dr. Brian has, for the record, totally denied using her for fame and the allegation of cheating. He seems to want to move on — and he's not alone in that. It is now reported that Kelly is dating journalist Rick Leventhal. In case that sounds rushed, note that Kelly has since clarified that she and Dr. Brian actually broke up on August 3 after 9 months of on-again, off-again. She and Rick apparently met in the Hamptons, and she already feels more “respected” by him than she did by Dr. Brian. Get it, girl.
