Source: Nicky Nelson/WENN.com / WENN Kenya Moore appeared in a guest role 11th season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta , but returns for the show’s 12th season as a cast member. In a new interview, the former Miss USA shared details of a potentially explosive beef after claiming her co-star NeNe Leakes referred to her baby as a “buffalo.” Moore sat down with Wendy Williams for a candid chat that ranged from Moore’s estranged husband and their attempts to hopefully reconcile, a bit Moore’s family past, and her beautiful baby girl, Brooklyn. Speaking of her daughter, Moore delved into Leakes’ alleged comments during the program. Things got spicy around the 4:30-minute mark when Williams asked about the beef between the two. In her words, Moore says that she once believed she and Leakes were friends but that during her pregnancy, which she mentioned was high-risk, Leakers never checked in on her. Further, Moore says Leakes ran into her when she was eight months pregnant, allegedly calling her a “monster” and that her child was a “buffalo” among other insults. Moore also noted with some slight shade that Williams claims Leakes as a friend. Check out the interview below. — Photo: WENN

Jay-Z’s ‘Fade to Black’ Doc Is Finally Available on TIDAL

Source: James Devaney / Getty You’d think one of the first things Jay-Z would do when TIDAL came about was add his cult classic concert documentary Fade To Black to the visual library, but you’d be wrong. Luckily he’s finally decided to let his OG fans re-experience the 15-year-old film while letting new millennial fans get a better understanding on why he’s the G.O.A.T to so many of us. According to Hypebeast , Jay-Z’s “farewell” concert documentary will finally be available for streaming for TIDAL subscribers four years after Jay-Z’s Project Panther Bidco Ltd acquired the streaming service. Originally released in 2004, Fade To Black was a behind the scenes concert documentary that followed Jay-Z throughout his creative process during what was supposed to be his swan song LP, The Black Album , and his farewell concert at Madison Square Garden. Featuring appearances from timeless artists like Missy Elliott, P. Diddy and of course, Beyoncé, the film was everything Jay-Z fans could’ve asked for at the time it dropped. Naturally, we all know that Jay-Z didn’t retire like planned after the release of the album and the documentary, and for that we’re grateful. Still, it was a great piece of work from directors Patrick Paulson Michael and John Warren and will forever be a piece of music history. Are you excited about watching Fade To Black on TIDAL? Let us know.

Excerpt from:

Source: JLN Photography/WENN.com / WENN John Witherspoon , best known by many as Pops from Ice Cube ‘s Friday franchise, passed at the age of 77 last week. In a star-studded celebration of life, the beloved actor and comedian was honored by family, friends, and peers on Tuesday (November 5). Entertainment Tonight reports that the service for Witherspoon was held in Los Angeles as was attended by the likes of Ice Cube, Chris Tucker, Cedric The Entertainer, and opened by his longtime friend and godfather to his son, former late-night host David Letterman. Ice Cube was among a long list of speakers who gathered to honor Witherspoon at the event. Regina King couldn’t make the event due to scheduling but left a video message for Witherspoon. Marlon Wayans was also unable to attend due to work conflicts but left a moving message on Instagram that illustrated the love shared between them. The Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder was also in attendance, fitting as Witherspoon voiced Granddad on the television series. “Laughter is the medicine for our mind, body and soul,” Ice Cube said. “It helps us get through this crazy world, and God bless the ones that make us laugh. John was naturally funny.” May John Witherspoon rest powerfully in peace. — Photo: WENN

High School Teacher Who Wore Blackface While Pretending To Be Common Placed On Leave

Read this article:

Source: ALEX EDELMAN / Getty These white folks just don’t learn. A California high school teacher who dressed up as Common for Halloween decided he needed to rock blackface to complete his costume. He was placed on administrative leave school officials revealed. A student who goes by the handle @karington_kk filmed the racist spectacle and shared it on her Twitter account on Friday (Nov.1). In the 23-second clip, the teacher can be seen pretending to Common mocking the rappers Microsoft AI commercial in front of the class. The caption for the Tweet read: “Sooooooooo… one of our WHITE teachers at mhs yesterday decided to paint his face so look like common the rapper yesterday,”  Sooooooooo… one of our WHITE teachers at mhs yesterday decided to paint his face so look like common the rapper yesterday. pic.twitter.com/1WudSddCLZ — karrington (@karrington_kk) November 1, 2019 The student who shared the video is not an actual student of the teacher in question Buzzfeed News reports. She received the clip from her friend, whose mother also works as a teacher in Milpitas Unified School District. As for her reasoning for sharing the troubling video, @karington_kk told the internet publication: “We decided to post this to bring this to the eye of the public,” the user said. “He genuinely thought it was okay to come to school like this.” In a statement to BuzzFeed News , school officials revealed Tuesday(Nov.5) he has been placed on leave. “The employee has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation,” said Scott Forstner, the communications specialist of Milpitas Unified School District in Milpitas, north of San Jose.” The teacher’s name has not been revealed due to the school instructing BuzzFeed News not to share it because the situation was “a confidential personnel matter.” The principal of the school, Francis Rojas and Superintendent Cheryl Jordan, sent out a memo to parents and faculty about the incident on Sunday. “Blackface paint has a historical and present-day connotation of racism that demeans those of African ancestry,” the memo reads, with a link to a History.com page about the  racist origins of blackface . “The act was disparaging to our students, parents, colleagues, and the Milpitas community we serve.” “We strive to embed our instruction with cultural and historical content so that our students see themselves in what they learn, and can be proud of who they are,” said Jordan and Rojas. “We are committed to building an inclusive learning community for our students together with you.” The costume would have been great without the blackface. TRIED IT: This Shea Moisture Rehydration Treatment Masque Is Exactly What Your Hair Needs As The Temperature Drops

Naturalistas : it’s not enough just to shampoo and condition your hair. At least once every 10 days, you should invest the time to give your hair a mask. A hair mask helps replenish your hair and depending on the one you use, can bring your hair back to life. As the temperature drops, haircare for natural girls needs to be turned up. During Winter, your hair suffers from dryness, which can lead to breakage. You’ll want to keep your hair extra hydrated. And while you can add leave-in conditioners, shampoo and condition with products that use honey (honey is a humectant and helps lock in moisture), you can also use a mask that will help with moisture retention. Source: Shea Moisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Rehydration Treatment Masque / Courtesy of Shea Moisture My new favorite hair mask is the Shea Moisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Rehydration Treatment Masque with Coconut Milk and Acacia Senegal ($12.99, sallybeauty.com ). I’ve used this hair mask twice as I write this and I am sold. I feel that a lot of products you have to wait a few weeks for results, not with this rehydration mask! I saw results after my first wash. I put the product in my hair and instantly my curl pattern took a liking to it. I can tell when my curl pattern really starts to show up and show out that my hair is feeling the product. Source: Shea Moisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Rehydration Treatment Masque / Courtesy of Shea Moisture I left this in for about 45 minutes; however, it says to leave this product on your hair for 5 minutes and focus on mid-length strands and your ends (hint: not your scalp). I shampoo’d my hair, conditioned it, then used this product. After I washed it out, I shampoo’d again and conditioned. I stepped out of the shower and didn’t notice that my hair looked shinier and healthier. However, it wasn’t until I unraveled my twists the very next day that I noticed my hair had a whole new life. My hair was hella hydrated and shiny and just looked overall healthy. Why did this product work so well? It has coconut oil and shea oils. Coconut oil is known to add luster and shine to hair in addition to moisture. Shea oils will strengthen your hair and promote growth. Coconut milk also promotes hair growth while the Acacia Senegal will bring vibrancy back to your hair. I was instantly obsessed. Source: Danielle James / Courtesy of Danielle James The next weekend, I tried this product again. This time, I left the conditioner on for over 24 hours (more = better, right?!). The minute I put my hand in my hair (with the product still in it), I noticed how soft my hair felt. Source: Danielle James / Courtesy of Danielle James Leaving it on for 24 hours, some of the product had solidified in my hair but most of it was melted in. I was impressed and happy. I hopped in the shower and washed it out, conditioned and then set out to twist my hair. I decided against using shampoo because I wanted some of the goodness to stay in my hair, so I just rinsed really, really well. Source: Danielle James / Courtesy of Danielle James I untwisted my hair the next day and was SO happy! It was soft, looked healthy, and the definition of my curls were popping. This is undoubtedly going to become a regular in my hair regimen. It just feels and looks fuller and like the moisture really retained. Beauties, have you used Shea Moisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Rehydration Treatment Masque with Coconut Milk and Acacia Senegal? Have you noticed a difference in your hair? I want to hear from you! John Witherspoon Almost Turned Down The Role Of “Grandad” On The Boondocks

Source: Vallery Jean / Getty T here’s a saying when a comedian dies, the world gets a little less funny. That’s what happened when J ohn Witherspoon , better known by his name on The Wayans Brothers Pops, died on October 29th. Two of his most notable roles are playing Craig’s Dad in the movie “Friday” Willie Jones, and his role as “Grandad” in The Boondocks TV series. John David “J.D.” Witherspoon recently took to Twitter to share a fun fact about the time his dad almost turned down the role of “Grandad” on the hit show The Boondocks . “True story, my Dad almost passed up on the role of grandad at first,” J.D. recalled on Twitter, Saturday. “He asked me ‘JD you ever heard of this thing called  The Boondocks ?’ I heard him say that and BUGGED OUT! I told him ‘you gotta take this job!’ And he did.” Here’s my family at the premier of the The Boondocks. True story my Dad almost passed up on the role of grandad at first. Aaron McGruder took to the shows official IG page to share words about the man whose voice is so special. “John let me borrow his wonderful, magical voice…and now I’ve lost part of my own. I will miss him as both fan and friend.” View this post on Instagram “John let me borrow his wonderful, magical voice… and now I’ve lost part of my own. Qveen Herby Drops Ear-Pleasing, Kaleidoscopic ‘EP 7’ [Stream]

See original here:

Source: Qveen Herby / Qveen Herby Reinvention is often difficult for musical acts, especially those who achieved recognition at a level that may have suffocated their true artistic aims. For Qveen Herby , shaking loose the ghosts of music’s past has come relatively easy and she lands full circle with the release of her latest project, EP 7 . Some might remember Qveen Herby as one-half of the viral YouTube duo Karmin , who blew up after their cover of Chris Brown’s “Look At Me Now,” which led to a major record deal. However, the crushing weight of corporate meddling and a burning desire to be true to herself moved Qveen to embrace Hip-Hop music in a more organic fashion that still manages to capture the playful bounce of her past group. Now in the front all alone, Qveen has dropped her latest set, EP 7 , a matter of fact title that illustrates the number of short projects she’s released over the past two years with her ex-Karmin partner and boyfriend Jedii Nick on the boards willfully playing the back while Qveen takes centerstage. EP 7 is a kaleidoscopic audio journey that has the high-gloss sheen and sound of big pop tunes skilfully meshed with the hard, head nod-inducing bop of trap-influenced Hip-Hop. As a rapper, Qveen’s verbal dexterity and lyrical stylings are at times comically boastful yet entirely believable. Yes, the pop stylings are audibly present but this time, the music doesn’t feel packaged to only be played in some artisanal coffee joint for college kids who wear thick-soled shoes for an ironic fashion effect.   EP 7 sounds like an album from a woman who knows exactly who she’s speaking to and for, all the while paying reverence to those who came before her with a chest-out bravado that her male counterparts in Hip-Hop wield fearlessly. With its lead single “Cheap Talk,” it would be fair to say that few would know what to expect of Qveen and that’s true across the five-song, 11-minute journey on EP 7 . To go along with the EP’s release, a video for the project’s lead track “Vitamins” was also unveiled to the public. When asked what Qveen Herby’s aims are with just dropping EPs over a full-length, she answered as confidently. “I love dropping EPs cuz it’s basically half an album every few months,” Qveen told us. “My team keeps getting tighter, I’m honing my craft, and my artistic vision for Qveen Herby is becoming more refined. Even my visuals have evolved to show more of my quirky persona and lean into my uniqueness. You can hear and see me becoming my true self through my EPs.” She added in her comments that she hopes to tour in the coming year and reconnect with her legion of fans across the globe, especially those who have stayed along for the ride to the switch from Karmin to Qveen Herby. In a tweet from last month, Qveen mentioned fellow fierce firebrand Rico Nasty after seeing the “Big T*tties” star in one of her dreams. When asked if their pair will collab soon, it appears that the idea is fresh on Qveen’s mind. “I have yet to connect with Rico Nasty but she’s so brilliant, saw her perform on tour with my friend/goddess Maliibu Miitch this past spring,” she shared. Check out Qveen Herby’s excellent EP 7 in the streams below. Learn more about Qveen Herby and cop the six previous joints here . — Photo: Qveen Herby
