During the WIRED25 event on Friday, Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced that a select number of U.S. users would see the like counts disappear from Instagram as soon as next week. He didn’t provide any further details on the scale of the test, but simply revealed it wouldn’t be “the whole U.S. at once.” “There’s a couple of hundred people in here, so definitely a couple of you will have private likes, I hope,” Mosseri said to the crowd. “It’s about young people. The idea is to try to depressurize Instagram, make it less of a competition, give people more space to focus on connecting with people they love, things that inspire them. But it’s really focused on young people. We have to see how it affects how people feel about the platform, how it affects how they use the platform…but I’ve been spending a lot of time on this, personally.” Earlier this year, Instagram started testing private likes among Canadian users, and they’ve since expanded the test to six other countries, which includes Brazil, Italy, Australia, Ireland, and Japan. With this new format, Instagram users will still have the ability to see which users liked each of their own posts, but the like count would no longer be visible to others. These tests ended up being launched following concerns about social media’s effect on mental health. Tori Roloff has over one million followers on Instagram for a handful of reasons. She’s relatable, for starters. She often shares pictures of her adorable son, for another thing. And she also posts very often; whether she’s providing pregnancy updates, sending positive message out into the world or simply uploading cute family snapshots. It’s rare that a day goes by without fans hearing from this Little People, Big World star. But that’s the thing; Many days have now gone by. Tori has not shared anything new on her Instagram page since October 27, which is when she posted the following picture and wrote as a caption: My love of Disney continues. So fun taking Jackson to @disneyonice tonight! It’s becoming a tradition and we were so excited (and thankful because there’s no way I could have done it myself) that grandma was able to join us this time!! Thank you Disney! Classic Tori, you know? It’s very un classic Tori to go well over a week between status updates, however, which is why many fans are now wondering: Might she have given birth already?!? Tori and husband Zach — who posts less frequently, but who has also been social media silent since October 1 — are expecting a baby girl this month. It’s been our understanding that Tori isn’t due until close to Thanksgiving, but it’s very possibly she went into labor early and is now taking some well-deserved time by herself with her brand new addition. Please keep in mind: This is mere speculation — but it wouldn’t be all that early if Roloff really has had the baby already. We obviously just hope mother and newborn are doing okay if this hypothetsis proves to be accurate, Earlier this week, Amy Roloff accidentally revealed that Tori and Zach would be welcoming a dwarf , confirming will “have the same type of dwarfism as her dad Zachary and brother Jackson” in a since-deleted Facebook video. Tori, for her part, had been consistently keeping followers apprised of how she was doing and feeling. Which, again, is why we find this ongoing silence so noteworthy. “The last few days have really been a struggle for me. This last stage of pregnancy has hit me hard. I get so frustrated not being able to do things on my own,” Tori wrote about five weeks ago, adding at the time: “I carried 6 towels up the stairs this morning to do some laundry and have been winded ever since. I’ve never been good at asking for help and these days that’s all I ever do.” Like we said above: Tori is nothing if not relatable. We’re sure millions of pregnant women have felt this same way. Concluded Roloff in that post: I know this is a time to be selfish and slow down but it’s so hard to sit around while my husband works and my 2 year old wants attention. I constantly feel serious FOMO. I know it’s all worth it and I’m doing such an important job but I can’t wait to tie my shoes on my own again. We continue to send our very best wishes to Tori and her entire family. View Slideshow: Tori and Zach Roloff: Secrets of the Little People, Big World Stars’ Private Lives
Source: Roger Kisby / Getty It’s been two and a half years since SZA blessed our lives with her debut project CTRL. Every young, millennial woman had at least one song on the 14-track album that they could deeply relate to, no matter how embarrassing or personal the topic was. Needless to say, we miss hearing the soothing, kindred sounds of Solana on wax — but at least we get to bask in her beauty via Instagram. View this post on Instagram @iam_jonathan_ A post shared by SZA (@sza) on Jul 25, 2019 at 6:20pm PDT Like most young folks with anxiety, SZA admittedly deletes her social media pages often, when she feels over it. It’s either that, or going through your entire page deleting old photos that make you cringe. Whatever it is, we’re just happy that we’re able to see the “Garden” singer and her many different, popping fashion moments and envious hairstyles via the ‘gram. “I’ve always loved playing with hair. I used to want dreads like Lauryn Hill, but my mom wouldn’t let me.”- SZA She could literally go from a huge, black curly fro’ to a soft orange do’, and look good either way. Source: Robin Marchant / Getty Kanye Considering “Christian Genius Billionaire” Name Change Oh bwoooooy, y’alls friend Kanye has done it again. This time the Chicagoan clown made a surprise appearance at the fifth annual Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York alongside Yeezy footwear designer Steven Smith. While there everyone’s fave Beezlebub Bozo told the packed crowd that he’s considering changing in his name in part because he felt disrespected by Forbes not recognizing his billionaire status. With that in mind, we might be getting “Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West” very soon. “Martin Luther King didn’t get killed because he had a dream; he had something else he was going to talk about,” said Yeezy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “He talked about black empowerment, economic empowerment,” said West. “When I did Forbes, I showed them a $890 million receipt and they still didn’t say ‘billionaire’. They don’t want us to know that we can buy land; they don’t want us to have the 100 percent ownership [that] I have at Yeezy.” “When people say it’s crass to call yourself a billionaire, I say I might legally change my name to ‘Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West’ for a year until y’all understand exactly what it is… It will be on the license plate.” SMH. He also told the room that he’s mulling over a 2024 Presidential run—a comment that sparked raucous laughter in his face. “When I run for President in 2024,” said Kanye as laughter ensued in the back. “What y’all laughing at? We would create so many jobs! I’m not going to run, I’m going to walk. When you see headlines saying Kanye’s crazy — one in three African Americans are in jail and all the celebrities are in jail also because they can’t say nothing, they got no opinion, they’re so scared!” Kimmy Cakes was also in the audience to witness her husband’s latest antics, watch (Christian Genius Billionaire) Kanye below.
Source: Jack Daniel’s Jack Daniel’s & The Shoe Surgeon Debut Jack-Inspired Sneaker Jack Daniel’s continued its winning streak with world-famous sneaker alchemist Dominic “The Shoe Surgeon” Chambrone who put his golden touch on a classic Air Jordan design to create their newest Jack-inspired sneaker. Fans voted for their favorite shoe concept inspired by the craftsmanship and key elements of Jack ( grain, the cave spring, Lynchburg distillery, the barrel, charcoal, honey and bottle design) that make the brand so iconic. And the winner is… the Shoe Surgeonized Air Jordan 4s that showcase the heart of Jack Daniel’s Distillery: the Cave Spring Hollow. We’ll call them Cave Spring 4s (for those fluent in Jordan). “Hearing the peaceful sound of the clear water flow inside the cave gave me instant inspiration”, said Chambrone (who you may remember from our fun-filled Complexcon Chicago adventure ). “We wanted to really capture those elements with the shoe by giving them a limestone slate which complements the water-like see through sole.” View this post on Instagram The @jackdaniels_us & @jackhoney_us 7: Grain, Cavespring, Distilled, Charcoal, Barrel, Honey, & Bottle.
