MSNBC host Chris Matthews is under fire for commenting on air that President Obama has done so much to heal racial divides that “I forgot he was black” as he watched Obama's first State of the Union address Wednesday night. Matthews, who appeared on the cable network shortly after the speech, said of the president: “I was trying to think about who he was tonight.

WASHINGTON — President Obama plans to announce Tuesday night that he will begin to transition American forces out of Afghanistan beginning in July 2011, setting the first time frame to wind down the war there nearly a decade after the United States first sent troops in to topple the Taliban government, senior administration officials said. Mr. Obama will set the drawdown goal even as he orders another 30,000 troops to deploy to Afghanistan over the next six months in an effort to reverse the momentum of Taliban insurgents fighting to regain control of the country

If it wasn’t already clear that David Hasselhoff had fallen off the wagon, his speech at the European Music Awards in Germany November 5 ought to prove it. Sure, he’s not seen taking shots on camera, but from the slurring of his speech and some of the nonsense he spewed, you have to think the guy is tanked
