Give Justin Timberlake credit: when he comes back to music, he really comes back to music. Having spent the last few weeks promoting his new album (” The 20/20 Experience “) absolutely everywhere – from hosting Saturday Night Live to sticking around Jimmy Fallon all week as the musical guest – JT announced at a release party yesterday that even more new songs are on the way. “I’ve got to clear up the rumors,” the singer said. “This whole thing about this only being the first part … is true. There is another half. I’m not giving you a release date.” Reports, however, claim the second new album of 2013 will be available in November. Timberlake sang three songs from the new album at the shindig in Los Angles: “Mirrors,”” Suit & Tie” and the Latin-infused “Let the Groove Get In.” However, he says the final song on the CD, ” Blue Ocean Floor ,” is the most “unique.” It was inspired by British rock group Radiohead. Why wait so long between albums and then release TWO in a matter of months? Justin explained to Ryan Seacrest: “I definitely enjoy all the entertaining but music is definitely the most special thing to me, and that’s probably why I wait so long in between records, because for me, no pun intended, it’s an experience.”

Britney Spears will in fact be a judge on The X Factor this fall, sources have confirmed. The partnership was all but certain weeks ago, but now it’s official. After months of eight-figure negotiations, the star has finally signed her contract to join Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid as a judge on the Fox series. Spears will get $15 million for one season of work. She had agreed in principle to the deal weeks ago and had spent the last few days working out the fine print, which has finally been ironed out. “The contract is signed ,” reveals a source close to her. “There’s been a lot of back and forth over the past few weeks, but she’s on. It’s all completed.” “She’s ready for this,” the insider continues. “She can’t wait to sit down next to Simon at the judges’ table and give this everything she’s got.” Britney “is beyond excited about showing the world that she can do this, and do this well. This is the perfect next stage in her career.” Cowell blew up the cast at the end of its inaugural season, keeping Reid but firing judges Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones. With Britney on board, Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato have both been rumored for the final spot on the panel, with Lovato the favorite . Will Britney make a good X Factor judge? What about Demi?

Visiting Howard Stern’s show Monday, Chelsea Handler was surprisingly (or maybe not that surprisingly) candid about her ill-fated relationship with 50 Cent. She wasted no time confirming that this rumored couple was in fact a couple, and revealing what her friends thought and why they ultimately split up. “He’s actually a lot different than you would think,” she said. “He’s really sweet. I thought it was kind of amusing that I would even be with 50 Cent.” “My friends all loved him, my friends fell in love with him,” she said, including Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston , who were as surprised as us. “They loved that I was dating him. They were like, ‘Chelsea, come on.’ They were both laughing really hard at it – everyone was – but they loved him.” So what went wrong? “We dated for a couple months and then we had a falling out,” she said . “One of his ex-girlfriends was coming onto my show.” She did not say who, but that was apparently the end of it. Why? According to Handler, Fiddy wanted to give her a heads up that his ex still had feelings for him, but Chelsea had other things – her job – on her mind. “I was like, at my job,” she said. “It was just so juvenile, I couldn’t get past that. I was at work. I hung up and I’ve never spoken to him again.” But that’s not to say there are any hard feelings, at least not on her part: “I do think he’s a really nice guy and I think he’s smart in a certain way.” Considering it’s Chelsea Handler we’re talking about, that’s as nice of a compliment as anyone, let alone an ex of hers, could possibly expect. We just hope 50 doesn’t read this story. He’s already despondent of late, we don’t need him firing off anymore introspective suicidal-sounding tweets.

‘It didn’t hurt that George Lucas spent the last quarter of a decade trying to get this story’ made, actor tells MTV News. By Kevin P. Sullivan Cuba Gooding Jr. in “Red Tails” Photo: Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation The upcoming World War II drama “Red Tails” tells many stories. First and foremost, it’s the story of the heroic Tuskegee Airmen, the country’s first African American air regimen. Within that story are tales of social injustice and a historical wartime drama. It’s also a big-budget action movie produced by George Lucas. With so much to accomplish, “Red Tails” has a lot on its plate dramatically speaking. One of the stars of the film, Cuba Gooding Jr., told MTV News recently that the film manages to find the right balance. “I think it strikes it in the subject matter,” Gooding said. “It didn’t hurt that George Lucas spent the last quarter of a decade trying to get this story onto the big screen. “The fact that you have the story of these warriors, whose story has been suppressed up until this date — except for smaller instances — are finally getting their due, educating the audience of what African Americans did in the war effort in World War II … told by George Lucas, Star Wars,” Gooding said. “You’re going to see an amusement park ride.” Gooding concluded that all of those elements came together for a proper telling of the story. “I think that’s how you get the balance,” he added. “You get a filmmaker who is so passionate he’s putting his own dough up to the tune of $100 million-plus. You see it on the screen.” Gooding’s co-star, Nate Parker, tried to chime in with a comment of his own, but the Academy Award-winning actor stopped Parker jokingly. “No, no, no, no. That was enough,” Gooding said. “I’m just kidding.
