If you spent like five hours watching the closing ceremonies of the London Olympics yesterday, you probably saw the Spice Girls get back together…. Again. The ladies did their thing on top of moving taxi cabs, all of them looking better now than they did when they were popular. I liked it. It’s safe to say that One Direction has hit the big time. The popular boy band was one of several acts to perform in front of a live and television audience of millions last night, helping to close out the London Olympics with a rendition of “What Makes You Beautiful.” While being wheeled around on the flat bed of a truck because, hey, why not?!? Good news for Chad Johnson: He’s out of jail on $2,500 bond. Bad news: He’s also out of a job. About 24 hours after Chad Johnson’s arrest for domestic violence , the Miami Dolphins released the loquacious, mercurial six-time Pro Bowl receiver. Johnson was released from jail Sunday after his wife, Evelyn Lozada, accused him of head-butting her during an argument in front of their home. Chad, who married Basketball Wives star Evelyn in Miami on July 4, was officially charged with simple domestic battery, a misdemeanor offense. Only five days earlier, Dolphins coach Joe Philbin said Johnson’s roster spot could be in jeopardy if he didn’t temper his freewheeling behavior. This incident apparently was the final straw . Johnson, who recently changed his name back from Chad Ochocinco after four years with that absurd surname, was arrested on Saturday. Allegedly, Evelyn Lozada confronted him about a receipt she found in their car trunk for a box of condoms, police said, sparking an argument. With the two seated in the car, they began talking about the receipt and their marriage, and Chad allegedly got angry and head-butted his wife. Lozada ran to a neighbor’s house and called police. A responding officer said Lozada had a 3-inch cut on her forehead, according to reports, while Johnson did not have any visible marks or bruises. When questioned by police, the NFL star confirmed there had in fact been an argument over the receipt, but said his wife had head-butted him. Johnson has long been known for his unusual antics that annoyed his teammates as well as coaches, yet made him popular with many fans. If convicted, he faces up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine. Taio Cruz, Jessie J and Tinie Tempah were among the impressive acts who came together in London last night for the Olympics Closing Ceremony. The former entertained attendees with his smash “Dynamite,” while Jessie went with “Price Tag” and also joined Tempah on a rendition of “Written in the Stars. I am a fan of Cheryl Cole. I’m not really sure why, but can only assume that commercial fabricated pop music designed in an office to make money once sung by a group of hand picked robot women who auditioned to be the next Spice Girls and who had no idea who each other were….never having to build or grow as a real band…avoiding all that annoying stuff like song writing….only to fill the airwaves with musical smut….that generaes millions of dollars…. really speaks to me… Especially when one of the cookie cutter characters they cast to be in their contrived ac was some ghetto bitch with prison tats – a little rough around the edges only to be passed around to soccer players…..was Cherly Cole….hot as fuck….
