It is to be expected that the beach-oriented country of Brazil would produce great open water swimmers, and Ana Cunha is testament to this. She might have been the youngest member of the Olympic 10K field at age 16, but Ana is no newcomer to the sport. A fixture on the 2008 World Cup circuit, she finished the year with a third place overall ranking in the 10K series, including the gold in Portugal.
