Black McDonald’s Employee: ‘Managers Told Me To Put Mustard On Burns’

Black McDonald’s Employee Says Managers Said Put Mustard On Burns More than two dozen low-wage McDonald’s workers filed health and safety complaints against the fast-food chain on Monday, alleging that understaffing and time pressures in stores have led to burns, falls and other injuries, according to the worker group representing them. Via HuffPo reports: The 28 complaints, involving stores in 18 cities, were filed with the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the relevant state agencies tasked with ensuring safe workplaces. The workers submitted them with the support of Fight for $15, the union-backed labor coalition that’s been agitating for a $15 minimum wage and union recognition in the industry. OSHA confirmed to The Huffington Post that it received the federal complaints Monday. One Chicago worker, Brittney Berry, alleged that she was so harried one day she slipped and caught her arm on the grill, leading her to be hospitalized and suffer nerve damage. She said she was advised by managers to treat the burn with a condiment. “My managers kept pushing me to work faster,” Berry, who was arrested last year in an act of civil disobedience against McDonald’s, said in a statement. “The managers told me to put mustard on it, but I ended up having to get rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. This is exactly why workers at McDonald’s need union rights.” The vast majority of McDonald’s stores are operated by franchisees rather than the fast-food company, but in a Monday statement, Fight for $15 argued that the responsibility to keep workers safe ultimately falls on McDonald’s. “McDonald’s sets minimal health and safety standards for all franchisees, but even these modest measures are not properly enforced,” the group said. “The company watches like a hawk nearly every aspect of its franchisees’ business operations via regular inspections, but it too often ignores health and safety problems.” “McDonald’s and its independent franchisees are committed to providing safe working conditions for employees in the 14,000 McDonald’s Brand U.S. restaurants,” McDonald’s spokeswoman Heidi Barker Sa Shekhe said in a statement. “We will review these allegations. It is important to note that these complaints are part of a larger strategy orchestrated by activists targeting our brand and designed to generate media coverage.” The safety complaints are indeed part of a broader shaming campaign that’s brought unprecedented scrutiny to the working conditions in fast food. For more than two years, Fight for $15, which is funded by the Service Employees International Union, has organized a highly successful series of strikes by workers at McDonald’s, KFC, Taco Bell and other restaurants in cities across the country. Much of that attention has been focused on McDonald’s. Discuss….

Vanderpump Rules Season 3 Episode 9 Recap: What Happens in San Diego …

Vanderpump Rules Season 3 Episode 9 saw the crew road trip it for a guys’ weekend in San Diego where, as ANYone could have predicted, Jax cheated on Tiffany. The best/worst part? Tiffany got Jax and his buddies the room as a present. Watch Vanderpump Rules Season 3 Episode 9 Online Their wild night in San Diego unsurprisingly ended with Jax Taylor railing some girl in the bathroom, according to Tom Sandoval. Jax denies this, but … Jax is also a pathological liar and kind of a little unstable. Just saying. It most likely happened, we’re going to go out on a limb and say, since Vanderpump Rules Season 3 Episode 9 is far from the first case of shady Jax antics. Given that Tiffany, who works in the hospitality industry, went out of her way to set up Jax, Tom, Peter and the other Tom up, this is even more ridiculous. Jax’s version of events involves less railing, but the girl throwing up in his hotel room’s bathroom after she inappropriately tried to touch him. Anyone buy that? Even that version upset Tiffany, who hung up on him immediately. Are they done for good? We’ll find out soon enough. Are he and Tom Sandoval on the outs again? That’s also a possibility because of Jax’s hypocrisy. Tom believes that had this been anyone else, Jax would be all over them, running his mouth and talking about how they did X, Y and Z to anyone who would listen. You know, like he did with Katie Maloney motorboating crotch . Back in L.A., Scheana Marie spoke with Lisa Vanderpump, obviously, about whether or not to invite Katie to her bridal shower and bachelorette weekend. Either Lisa feels she has to counsel the staff in order to sell the show’s narrative, or the staff are just needy, but she tends to meddle in their affairs quite often. Vanderpump Rules Cast Photos 1. Vanderpump Rules Cast: Season 3 The Season 3 cast of Vanderpump Rules. It is certainly an entertaining, growing and diverse (at least in terms of personality) cast of characters, as fans know well … Initially, Scheana had only invited Tom Schwartz to the wedding, but Lisa told her you can’t do that and shun his girlfriend. So Katie’s in. Stassi Schroeder, though? That’s a different story altogether, given their history. Scheana and Stassi again tried to patch things up over drinks. It didn’t go well, as Stassi said she never wants to be friends with her … and called her a gypsy. Yes, Stassi says she won’t miss Scheana Marie or her eyelashes, turban, or leotards. Ms. Marie may not work in the kitchen, but that was a serious BURN. Whose side are you on in that feud? And is there any way Jax didn’t cheat? Sorry, Not Sorry: St. Louis Rams Slam Reports That They Apologized To St. Louis Police For “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” Gesture

“ Who you finna try ? I bet it ain’t me, ooh b**** it ain’t me, CAPS, CAPS, CAPS, CAPS!” Via USAToday St. Louis County police and the Rams are at odds Monday night over whether a team official apologized for the “hands up-don’t shoot” gesture performed by five players before Sunday’s game. Neither law enforcement officials nor Kevin Demoff, the Rams’ executive vice president and chief operations officer, dispute that Demoff reached out to St. Louis area police officials on Monday, a day after five Rams players made the famous gesture during pregame introductions. The content of those conversations, and the semantics of Demoff’s words, are up for debate. Demoff told the St. Louis Post-Dispatchthat he did not apologize for the players’ actions, but that he “regretted any offense their officers may have taken.” “We do believe it is possible to both support our players’ First Amendment rights and support the efforts of local law enforcement as our community begins to heal,” Demoff told the paper late Monday. In an email to USA TODAY Sports on Monday night, St. Louis County police spokesman Brian Schellman said Chief Jon Belmar “believed it to be an apology.” “[Demoff] further stated ‘I regretted any offense the officer’s may have taken.’ Even though Mr. Demoff stated he never apologized, the Chief believed it to be an apology and the Chief sent the email to police staff to let them know about the call, after he told Mr. Demoff he would share his sentiments with his staff,” Schellman said. Indeed, Belmar followed up that call by writing a memo to his staff. In that memo, obtained by the Post-Dispatch, the chief told officers that Demoff “regretted that any members of the [Rams’] organization would act in a way that minimized the outstanding work that police officers and departments carry out each and every day.” Peep the slick isht the janky azz St. Louis Police posted to their Twitter page: GTFOHWTBS!
