Teaming up to compile new material for their popular family reality show, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian were busy filming scenes for “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” in West Hollywood, California on Thursday (April 7). All dressed up for the midday work efforts, the two lovely ladies ran into a bit of a setback during the course of their trek around town – as they ended up dealing with car troubles along the way. Of the doings, Kim tweeted, “Riding around with @KourtneyKardash in a pick up truck. Its like a monster truck & kinda fun!” Informing her millions of followers of the auto woes a short while later, Miss Kardashian wrote, “We just got a flat tire….fun” Meanwhile, Kourtney was also active on her Twitter account – as she told fans of a new cause in which she’s backing by writing, “Working with @LittleTikes to help make a lot of children happy and save a lot more sea turtles all in one step!” Little Tikes partnered with the Sea Turtle Conservancy (STC) to help raise awareness about the preservation of sea turtles – as interested parties can donate $20 and receive a sea turtle adoption kit in return.

On Monday (March 28), Ryan Seacrest took to his morning radio show to announce that he and Britney Spears will co-host the annual music fest, which will feature performances from Ke$ha, Jennifer Lopez and Selena Gomez. Other acts scheduled for the concert event include Pitbull, Far East Movement, Jason DeRulo, Lupe Fiasco, T-Pain, New Boys and Cobra Starship. YouTube sensation Cody Simpson will round out the star-studded performance roster. While Spears may just be hitting the stage as special guest co-host, the “Hold It Against Me” singer, coming off of hot weekend shows in Las Vegas and San Francisco , is no stranger to the Wango Tango stage. When her career was just taking off in 1999, the pop star performed at the annual festival and returned a few years later in 2001 to guest-host the festivities. Tickets for Wango Tango 2011, which takes place May 14 at the Staples Center, go on sale to KISS Club VIPs on Friday, April 1, and to the general public on Saturday, April 2. Fans may also want to keep an eye on the hit radio station’s Facebook page, where they revealed they will be giving away meet-and-greet passes for Ke$ha. Officially billed as Vevo Presents: G.O.O.D. Music featuring Kanye West, John Legend, Common, Kid Cudi, Mos Def and more, the event concluded with a 90-minute Kanye set that ran until just past 4 a.m. Photos from the G.O.O.D. Dressed in black and wearing a shiny costume mask, he performed songs like “Oh No” and “Casa Bey” before ceding the stage to Pusha T. Pusha greeted fans with the Clipse’s “Grindin’ ” and closed with the popular mixtape cut “Fear of God.” He was followed by Big Sean and then Cyhi Da Prince, who performed with a violinist. While Mr. Hudson’s songs seemed largely foreign to the diverse audience, in a bit of foreshadowing, he closed with his hook from Jay-Z’s “Forever Young.” Then, a short dance sequence by Fonzworth Bentley lead to a Kid Cudi set. Cudi had fans fist-pumping to the Crookers remix of “Day ‘N’ Nite” then singing a cappella along with him to “Pursuit of Happiness.” Then it was time for the main event. At roughly 2:30 a.m., after fans had braved hours on their feet (including the time spent waiting in line to get in since the early afternoon), Kanye West sauntered onto a stage draped in red light. The operatic flourishes of “Dark Fantasy,” from his latest LP, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, rose in volume as his silhouette appeared. Backed by DJ Cassidy, ‘Ye — in a black leather jacket, black gloves and black sunglasses — tore through the opening cut. After revisiting his older catalog with “Can’t Tell Me Nothing,” he stepped back to the current day and brought John Legend out to perform the popular G.O.O.D. Friday track “Christian Dior Denim Flow.” Legend stayed onstage and they performed “Blame Game” together before John manned the keys solo for “Ordinary People.” The night hit its stride when ‘Ye brought out the MPC for a VMA-like performance of “Runaway.” He danced around stage as the beat played, and harmonized during an extended outro. As the song ended, he put his head down, clutched the microphone and turned his back to the crowd. A brass band joined him for “All of the Lights” and the venue seemed to shake beneath the song’s heavy kick drums. Kanye then exited the stage, only to return with Jay-Z. They performed “H.A.M.” together, then ran through a medley of songs they’re both featured on. “Swagga Like Us” kicked in, but Kanye lost track of the tune. “I forgot that one,” he admitted. It was Jay-Z’s turn to take over the set, and of course, diamonds were in the sky for “Public Service Announcement.” “Austin, Texas, if you’re having a good time with G.O.O.D. Music tonight, make some noise!” Jay said. Jay finished, appropriately, with “Big Pimpin,” the cut that features popular Texas-bred rappers UGK. Hov led the crowd in reciting the late Pimp C’s verse before leaving the stage. The show switched back to Kanye’s newer material, and when “Lost in the World” began, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon took the stage. Dressed in black, staring straight down, he sang his haunting verse while Kanye returned to perform the rest of the song. Everyone from G.O.O.D. During an appearance on The View that will air today, Billy Ray Cyrus made a startling announcement: he said he’s called off his divorce from wife Tish. “I want to put my family back together,” he told the hosts and the audience, adding: “Things are the best they’ve ever been.” That’s quite the departure from how things have been recently, considering the interview Billy Ray gave to GQ last month in which he blamed Hannah Montana for destroying his family and said Satan was attacking Miley. But Billy Ray claims things are much better now: “I feel like I got my Miley back in a way,” he said during yesterday’s taping. “I feel like we are the daddy and daughter that we were before Hannah Montana happened.” In October, Billy Ray and wife Tish issued a joint statement announcing plans to end a 17-year marriage. Miley has often been seen out with her mom since then – often defending her from paparazzi – but sources say she hasn’t spoken to her dad in months. We’d be very happy for the family if that’s changed, but we also must be a bit hesitant to believe anything Billy Ray says. The man has proven to often be full of it.

Pennsylvania dance duo are set to take the stage at SXSW and Miami’s Ultra Music Festival. By Adam Stewart Designer Drugs Photo: MTV It’s been a long road for Pennsylvania electronic duo Designer Drugs, but for Michael Vincent Patrick and Theodore Paul Nelson, that’s half the fun. Having been making music together for well over 10 years, the duo recently debuted their second album, Hardcore/Softcore, on Ultra Records and have been thrust into the ever-expanding American dance-music audience. Now, on the heels of the album’s second single, “Through the Prism,” featuring rapper and fellow Brooklynite Cerebral Vortex, Designer Drugs are poised to bring their unique brand of grind-house electronic to the masses Thursday night (March 17) at Austin, Texas’ South by Southwest, followed by a huge set on the Live Stage at Ultra Music Festival in Miami on March 25. “We started doing a lot of remixes and just trying to make a specific kind of music,” Patrick told MTV News. “But now, with the album, we are just doing whatever we want and making more of an electronic album.” “We had, like, a hundred songs and riffs,” Nelson added. “And we just basically picked ones we thought were the best for the album and put them all on. We didn’t really have a good idea of what we wanted to accomplish, but it ended up being what it was and we were pretty happy with it at the end.” Kicking things off with the first single “Drop Down,” a wobbly synth monster reminiscent of an edgy Prodigy-esque sound garnished with Gregorian chants, the vibe DD bring to the dance-music game is unique and captivating. Hardcore/Softcore brings the art of an album back to the table, melding full-length tracks with melodic interludes. “I think it kind of helped to tell a story for this album, but we didn’t plan it,” Patrick said. “Nothing for this album was really planned. It all kind of happened; we wrote all the music and then kind of linked it together.” “We just thought, ‘This sounded cool, but let’s not make it an entire song; let’s just kind of put it in there and see what happens,’ ” Nelson added. “But we do listen to a lot of old classic-rock stuff, too, like Pink Floyd and all that other stuff.
