Conrad High School valedictorian Rooha Haghar for her principal cutting her microphone off when she mentioned Trayvon Martin and  Tamir Rice during her speech. On June 23, 2014, the last episode of The Boondocks  aired on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. Less than two months later…Ferguson happened. The uprising that occurred in the Missouri city showed the outrage people felt after another unarmed Black person, Michael Brown , was killed by the police. This time, however, people were getting organized around the country and the weeks that followed were filled with heated online debates, news coverage and a new awareness of police brutality and Black oppression. Since then, a plethora of movements have followed suit pertaining to women’s rights, LGBTQ rights and more. Tensions probably hit a national peak in 2016 when Donald Trump was elected President of the United States. Could Aaron McGruder , the creator of The Boondocks, have predicted all this? Source: L. Cohen / Getty Now, in 2019, there’s even more to talk about and McGruder might partake with his signature satire in a Boondocks reboot. According to Deadline , Sony announced the reboot at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival on Wednesday. They say the reboot will be a “complete re-imagining” of the previous show and it “chronicles the adventures of the Freeman family against the evil local government tyrant Uncle Ruckus, who rules fictional Woodcrest County, Maryland with an iron fist.” Well…it definitely sounds interesting. With such a grand set-up, the show could be a more serialized comedy with different story arcs that last multiple episodes. But the question remains, what kind of political themes will the show cover, or will it completely abandon the hot button issues the original series was known for tackling? If politics are still the name of the game, hit the flip for six topics the show should revisit to still be relevant in 2019.

The “Throw It In The Bag” rapper has been working to satisfy the terms of his year-long pre-trial intervention program after he pleaded guilty to one count of harassment and copped to threatening Emily and her father with a pair of scissors outside of their northern New Jersey home. Things are going so well, that the judge on the case has not asked Fab, 41, to come back to court to review his progress, and he doesn’t have a court date pending, a court official confirmed to BOSSIP. If he successfully completes the diversion program, his charges will be thrown out and his criminal record wiped clean. Fab initially faced up to 20 years in state prison after prosecutors accused him of punching Emily B so hard that her front teeth had to be removed. Days later, a video emerged of the father of two brandishing a sharp object at his partner and her father and threatening to kill them. We’ve reached out to Fab’s lawyer, Brian Neary, for comment.

According to Page Six , the 57-year-old’s mystery man has been identified as Marc Tomblin, who was convicted of robbery with a dangerous weapon in 2013 in North Carolina. In addition, Tomblin, who works in “finance,” has a conviction of felony breaking and entering in May 2013 AND two robbery charges from August 2012. When TMZ caught wind of Tomblin’s past, they asked Wendy about it. Her response? She ain’t going nowhere. “I am a 54-year-old grown-ass woman,” she said. “I know what I’m doing.” Adding, “Look, my husband had a full baby with a woman he was involved with for 15 years … where I was cooped up only to be a show pony. Wendy Williams: New Lover Identified… as an Ex-Convict!

There is one silver lining to Wendy Williams having been married for many years to Kevin Hunter: There’s no way she could do worse with her next man… right? The only direction she could head in would be up, considering Hunter cheated on her so brazenly that his mistress gave birth to his child this spring. That’s what we’ve been assuming, at least. But then we learned that Williams had a sexy new boy toy with whom she’s been playing — and then we learned the identity of this sexy new boy toy and… well… … maybe we were wrong. Maybe Williams can do worse. According to TMZ, Williams is dating someone named Marc Tomblin . He and the talk show host have been spotted out and about, doing shopping and enjoying each other’s company, at various points over the past few days. There’s more to this story, however. Or more to Tomblin’s story, we should say. Based on court record, Tomblin pled guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon in Charlotte back in 2013. Police say he was part of a group of three people who robbed a man at gunpoint and, as a result, he sentenced to 15-30 months — all of which Williams was apparently aware of when she started knocking proverbial boots with Tomblin. The talk show host told TMZ this week that Tomblin had already told her about his conviction long before the website broke the news to the public. How does she feel about her new lover’s past? “I am a 54-year-old grown ass woman. I know what I’m doing,” she says. Wendy makes no excuses or apologies, either. She says she’s just having fun and, come on, doesn’t she deserve to do so after all she’s been through of late? “Look, my husband had a full baby with a woman he was involved with for 15 years … where I was cooped up only to be a show pony,” she also tells TMZ. “Now, I’m living my life.” What else is there to say, we guess, except: You go, girl! Williams met Tomblin when she was out partying recently with Blac Chyna. He was by her side over the weekend when Williams broke down over her family situation , specifically the fight her son got into with his dad just a couple weeks ago.
