Michael Thomas/Getty Images Melissa McKinnies Claims Her Son Danye Jones Didn’t Commit Suicide An activist who made her mark in Ferguson, Missouri in the wake of the Mike Brown shooting believes something sinister happened to her late son. Melissa McKinnies is demanding answers after her son Danye Jones was found hanging from a tree in her backyard on October 17. McKinnies posted a graphic photo to Facebook of Danye hanging with sheets around his neck and captioned it, “They lynched my baby.” According to police, however, Danye Jones’ death was a suicide. McKinnies has since spoken to KMOV and told them that the sheets used to hang him didn’t come from their house and the knots used to tie the sheets were advanced. She’s also adamant that Donye wasn’t suicidal and was in the process of starting a business. Not only that, she told KMOV that she’d been getting death threats through social media and she recently spotted someone watching her house. “They watched my house and when my husband and my son would approach the car, they would drive off,” said McKinnies. DeAndre Joshua was found shot to death inside a burned vehicle in November 2014 and Darren Seals , another protestor, was found shot to death in a burned vehicle in September 2016. The investigations into their deaths are still ongoing. Edward Crawford, the protestor who was seen in an iconic photo throwing tear gas back at riot police was found shot to death in his car. His death was ruled a suicide.
Spencer Platt/Getty Images A Possible Death Is Stopped In Its Tracks A group of bodega workers are being hailed as heroes for preventing what could’ve been another Bronx teen tragedy on Tuesday. According to 4 New York , surveillance cameras show a teen boy running into the Bronx bodega for help, while several other teens chase him. The kid tries hiding in the back of the aisles, according to the video, but the mob ends up finding him. Witnesses say that four of them attacked the boy, kicking him in the head, while more teenagers looked on. It was at this very moment that the bodega owner Edward Lara and others swooped in to save the teen’s life. “The little kid came here asking for help,” Lara said. “He said ‘please help me they’re going to kill me.’” Lara said that he was worried about his safety, but he couldn’t help but think of a similar incident that happened in the Bronx not too long ago. Back in June, 15-year-old Lesandro “Junior” Guzman Feliz was brutally murdered at another Bronx bodega just three miles from Lara’s bodega. In Junior’s case, nobody came to his aide when he was being attacked, at least not in a way that might’ve saved his life. The whole incident caused major outrage on social media sparking the #JusticeForJunior hashtag. According to 4 New York, in Tuesday’s attack, one of the assailants fired a gun on the street right before chasing the teen victim into the bodega. The attacker’s shot struck an innocent bystander — a 50-year-old man who is expected to survive. The teen is also expected to survive after being saved by the bodega team. “They’re heroes,” Lara said of his workers. Police said a 15-year-old has been arrested in connection with the attack on Tuesday. They add that they are still looking for the others who were involved.

Not everyone from My 600-lb Life gets a happily ever after. LB Bonner died of apparent suicide . Others have compromised physical health — or struggle with their mental health. Brittani Fulfer has a much more positive life update and is flaunting some serious weight loss. Take a look: It was only a few years ago that Brittani Fuller struggled to even move because of her weight. Even years later, as you’ll see in photos below, she was still overweight, and had a lot of excess skin after losing nearly 300 pounds. Now, however, she is showing the world that she is a real weight loss success story. “Me on my birthday a couple weeks ago,” she wrote on Facebook, sharing a stunning photo. Brittani is almost unrecognizable. She looks so good! “Three years ago I weighed 600 pounds,” Brittani writes. Her post continues: “Now I am stronger, healthier, and more alive than I thought was ever possible!” “Am I skinny?” she asks herself. “Nope!” “Am I okay with that?” Brittani asks, answering: “Yep!” That is an extremely healthy mindset. “My goal is to be healthy,” Brittani explains. “Not skinny!” We hope that we do not have to explain that there are small people who are unhealthy and large people who are doing just fine. Brittani advises her fans: “Remember to love yourself today!” Brittani then wishes her followers well, writing: “Be blessed!” As you may recall, Brittani dropped her weight by 230 pounds on her episode of My 600-lb Life . In her follow-up episode, she lost another 103 pounds, and had 27 pounds of fat removed from her abdomen. As we mentioned, you can see in these photos that, even after losing a lot of weight, she had a great deal of excess skin. That is the sick joke of massive weight loss — your body might shrink, but your skin does not. Brittani revealed on My 600-lb Life that her eating was a coping mechanism for the horrific childhood sexual abuse that she survived. The abuse began when she was only five years old, and continued for another six years. Like most people who use food — or drugs, or self-harm — as a coping mechanism, she was essentially self-medicating herself with food. Different people cope in different ways. We’re glad that she was able to overcome her weight issue. In a recent post, Brittani reflected upon her weight loss journey on My 600-lb Life . “One of the questions I get the most is would I do this whole experience over again,” Brittani wrote. “The answer is…in less than a heartbeat,” she revealed. “I have become much more the me I have always wanted to be,” she said. “I WILL ALWAYS be forever grateful for this experience.” “I believe that nothing in life worth doing is easy,” she concluded. “It is hard work every day.” Good for her. After the rapper blasted Owens for using him to spread her sunken place message of “Blexit,” which is a slogan stolen from the bank Black movement. Now, Owens is apologizing to Kanye. I never once said that Kanye designed the t-shirts for BLEXIT…I would like to publicly apologize to him for any undue stress or pain the effort to correct that rumor has caused him, his business relationships, or his family. He simply never designed them.” Well, that is a lie from Owens. She clearly said to Page Six , “Blexit is a renaissance and I am blessed to say that this logo, these colors, were created by my dear friend and fellow superhero Kanye West.” You can’t get any clearer than “created by my dear friend and fellow superhero Kanye West.” I guess Owens is taking a play from Trump, deny it, even if you clearly said it just days ago. So is Page Six the liar or her? This sounds like Owens may have heard from Kanye’s lawyers. Owens also wants people to know that Kanye still worships Trump. “I would also like to publicly apologize to President Trump, as I know that Kanye’s tweets were rapidly misinterpreted as a shot to this administration,” she said. “His tweets were aimed at me and me only, rightfully, for my personal failings.” In case you missed it, Kanye said on Twitter , “I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it.” He also wrote, “My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative.” Either way, Kanye has hit the bottom of the barrel.
