Source: TNYF/WENN.com / WENN According to The Washington Post , a group of protesters held an action outside a Rhode Island prison that works with Immigration and Customs Enforcement ( ICE ) to house immigration detainees. Many of the protestors were sitting on the pavement, blocking staff from the Wyatt Detention Facility parking lot. After shouts to close immigration detention camps , a black pickup truck swerved towards protesters sitting on the ground. The protesters yelled at the driver who beeped their horn, then he hit the gas, endangering the lives of protestors. A viral video shows the protesters screaming and leaping out the way, while some hopped on the truck as if to weigh it down. Several people were struck by the car and some were treated at a hospital, although thankfully they didn’t face life-threatening injuries. Local police officers at the scene also didn’t bother to intervene, according to Anthony, and the guard eventually made his way into the prison after other guards pepper-sprayed the protestors. Earlier this summer, a deeply disturbing report came out about Gina Kirschenheiter’s husband allegedly attacking her and threatening her life. Since then, they have been to court. A judge has extended Gina’s restraining order and agreed to the end of their marriage, but they’ll still technically be married for months . For a woman who spent so much time last year boasting to Shannon Beador about her easy divorce, Gina’s split has taken a nasty turn. In June, she alleged that Matt had shown up at her house late at night and then broken in and attacked her. She accuses her ex of having pushed her down, of having struck her. Gina at one point fled the house to seek help from a neighbor, but says that Matt dragged her back to the house. Someone dialed 911 and police arrived, but not before Matt had allegedly threatened Gina’s life repeatedly. Absolutely bone-chilling stuff. Now, RadarOnline reports that a judge has granted Gina and Matt’s “dissolution of marriage.” It seems that, despite the June nightmare, the two were able to come together to address some major aspects of their divorce. However, there is a lot of paperwork remaining, pertaining to “matters of joint property and other issues.” For that reason, Gina and Matt will remain “married,” technically speaking, until December 31, 2019. The court hopes that they will be able to complete that paperwork before then. On January 1, Gina will be single and presumably ready to mingle. It seems clear that both Gina and Matt were ready and eager for the marriage to end. The issues that they resolved included division of properties, spousal support, child support, and other financial matters. Things at the Wednesday, August 14 hearing became heated as Matt was asked some very direct questions. Matt agreed that the reasons for their divorce were “irreconcilable differences.” He also conceded that he would not get back with Gina if suddenly presented with the opportunity to do so. The most important part of many divorces is determining custody of any children. It seems that Gina and Matt were able to reach an accord on that topic. But knowing that they agreed in court is not the same thing as knowing the details of their custody arrangement. Speaking of Gina’s children, don’t expect to see her changing her name any time soon. As she explained to the judge, she wants to keep the same last name as her children. A lot of divorced moms make that same difficult choice. Then comes the matter of Gina’s physical safety. Fortunately, it seems to be something that the court is taking seriously. Gina already had a temporary restraining order in place. The court has extended that protective order through next year, to January 15 of 2020. That is the date on which both parties will return to court, fully divorced, to discuss the domestic violence charges against Matt. Eyewitnesses say that Gina and Matt refused to look at each other while in court. However, as she left the court, Gina is said to have looked emotionally devastated. In contrast, Matt apparently looked relieved. We can only speculate as to what they were thinking and feeling at that time, of course. Plus-size retailer Avenue announced it will close all of their stores, according to a press release via liquidation company Hilco Merchant Resources. This plus size store is a staple for size 14+ women looking for moderately priced, everyday work clothing, dresses, bras, and more. Avenue has 222 stores located in 33 states within the U.S. The store was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in New Rochelle, New Jersey. In 2007, the company was purchased by Redcats USA (who is part of the Kering company). In 2012, the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and was purchased by Versa Capital Management. Now, the company is liquidating all of their locations. What does this mean for you and their plus-size customers? It’s time to shop! Via press release, they revealed, “Avenue shoppers will be amazed not only by the incredible savings, but also by the great selections and styles available at the closing sale.” The brand currently has a lot of great summer styles, up to 70% off, allowing plus-size women to stock up for their August and September summer vacations and beyond. We think it’s safe to say nothing is going according to plan for Hannah Brown these days. When Hannah asked Tyler on a date during her Bachelorette season finale, it was widely assumed the former pageant queen would get a second shot at love. But that hasn’t turned out to be the case. Instead, Cameron is dating fellow model Gigi Hadid — and by all indications, the relationship is getting serious. According to E! News, Tyler and Gigi were spotted on yet another date this week. And those who laid eyes on the couple say they made little attempt to conceal their obvious affection for one another. “Gigi looked good,” said one witness . “She was casual and seemed very chill. It seems like they are definitely spending more time together and growing close.” The report comes one week after Bachelor Nation first learned of the romance. “Gigi is definitely interested in Tyler,” a source shared with E! News at that time. “They met for drinks and they got along really well. It was very casual but they were laughing and had a very engaged conversation. They are both taking things slow but have both made it clear they are interested in each other.” At the time, the insider insisted that Cameron and Hadid were keeping things casual — but things seem to have evolved quickly. “He really likes Gigi, but it’s just a fling for now,” an insider previously said. “They are both gorgeous and single and they’ve had fun spending time together. He’s living in the moment and not thinking too much past that.” The source can claim it’s casual, but Gigi and Tyler’s behavior says otherwise. Less than 24 hours after their first date, the models were spotted bowling with friends at a New York City lane. And in the past few days, they’ve been spotted together at least twice more. Back-to-back dates, PDA, meeting each other’s friends? Sounds like more than a hook-up situation to us! It’s been over two months now since Jessa Duggar gave birth to her third child and her first daughter, precious little Ivy. It really doesn’t seem like it’s been that long, right? Time flies when your family breeds like literal rabbits! With all the Duggar pregnancy announcements and updates and speculation that’s been happening lately, are we honestly supposed to be able to keep up? But for the sake of discussing what we’re discussing today, just remember that Jessa had Ivy at the end of May . And sometime in July … she disappeared. Or, OK, yeah, that might be a little dramatic. We’re pretty sure she’s just at home, probably completely overwhelmed with having three children under the age of three. What we mean is that she disappeared from social media. Jessa has always been pretty active on Instagram, and even after Ivy was born, she shared tons of pictures of her. There were photos of Ivy, photos of Ivy’s baby toes, photos of Ivy with her big brothers, photos of Spurgeon and Henry, too — lots and lots of photos. On July 10th, she shared a photo of Ivy with a pacifier, and then … She was never heard from again . She hasn’t been posting to her Instagram stories, and Ben hasn’t posted on his Instagram at all in a couple of years, so we really have no clue what she’s been up to. Besides, you know, babies. Ben’s family has an Instagram of their own, so we’ve been seeing some photos of the kids there, but we haven’t had a glimpse at Jessa for several weeks now. And her fans are getting kind of concerned about it. This week, Ben’s family shared a photo of him reading to the boys, and they tagged Jessa as the photographer, and in the comments on that post, there were some questions. “Is Jessa OK?” one person asked. “I have been wondering about her, miss her!” “I don’t know,” someone else replied, “but her absence has been noted. I hoped Mrs. Seewald could let us know if she’s ok.” Others left similar comments, and if you check the comments on Jessa’s last post from July, you can see that people are getting pretty anxious for new updates on her family. “Would love to see Ivy now,” one of her followers told her. “Haven’t seen or heard much from you lately,” another fan said. “Hope you’re ok and not getting too overwhelmed.” One comment read “I am sure she will return when she can. She is a mom now and also busy making more babies to share with all the fans.” There’s quite a bit to discuss here, but real quick — Jessa better not be “busy making more babies,” because she just had one not even three months ago and we’re pretty sure her uterus would fall out if she tried. But it is interesting that she’s pretty much gone from Instagram, right? There’s always the possibility that she’s struggling with postpartum depression and just isn’t feeling much like being on social media, and if that’s the case, then we hope she’s able to get help and support for that. But like we said … she’s got two toddlers and a newborn right now. It’s more likely she’s simply in survival mode. Whatever’s going on with her, we hope she feels better soon.
