Source: Nintendo / Marvel Entertainment First unveiled at the Video Game Awards back in December, Nintendo shocked the world when it announced it was reviving the Ultimate Alliance franchise with Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order . Today (Apr.16) we learn the game will be available on Switch this Summer. Nintendo is handling publishing for the Nintendo Switch exclusive slated for a July 19 release. The epic Marvel team up game will feature characters from Guardians of The Galaxy, The Avengers , X-Men as well as other newly announced heroes like Black Panther, Deadpool, Spider-Gwen and Doctor Strange. In the description for the game’s story, our favorite heroes are in a race against time to gather the Infinity Stones before Thanos and his loyal and deadly subjects The Black Order do. Per Nintendo: “Super Heroes unite in a race across iconic locations in the Marvel Universe to find the Infinity Stones before Thanos and The Black Order use them to unleash cosmic chaos. Up to four people can play together in local* or online** co-op, with the ability to drop in and out at any time.” Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 supports 4-player co-op play both locally and online. Co-op play is drop in and drop out allowing players to join your session without having to sacrifice your current game to create a party. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order marks the first return of the popular team-up button mashing game in 10 years. According to Billboard the two New York natives have announced a joint tour that is set to commence Thursday, July 11. Her criminal past was cited for her being denied entry into a mental health program, instead of a possible jail sentence. Reports TMZ : We broke the story … the ‘Love & Hip Hop’ star submitted a petition in her child abuse case to allow her to get treatment for a serious mental illness, which she claimed she was diagnosed with around the same time she was charged with child abuse in Georgia. Tommie got her answer — no can do. According to a new legal doc obtained by TMZ … the Assistant District Attorney determined Lee’s criminal history and background — along with other evidence, facts and allegations — “make her an inappropriate candidate for an accountability court.” Back in January, Tommie was indicted on multiple child abuse charges and she’s facing up to 54 years in prison if she is convicted. Back in November, we reported that Chip and Joanna Gaines were returning to television . Now, we know which TV network they’re taking over and they’ve announced their very own streaming service. But some fans are feeling a little put out — and see this as nothing but a calculated business move designed to enrich the Gaines brand. The Wrap reports that Allison Page of HGTV has been named the president of an exciting new project. That project will be a “multiplatform joint venture between Discovery, Inc. and the Gaines’ Magnolia brand.” The Fixer Upper stars will be taking over what we currently know as the DIY Network, which falls under the Discovery umbrella. Though we do not yet know the names of this new channel, TVE app, and SVOD service, we do know one thing. The world has been told to expect to see “Magnolia” somewhere in there. Discovery CEO David Zaslav released a statement on this new venture. “Chip and Joanna Gaines have become trusted, household names since the debut of Fixer Upper ,” Zaslav notes. “And through this joint venture,” he continues. “Discovery is proud to extend our relationship with them.” “They’ve got authenticity and relatability,” he observes. Zaslav describes those traits as forming “that special something that is so difficult in our business to find.” Zaslav goes on to explain why Discovery knows that investing in the Gaineses is the right move. “People love them, their taste, their businesses,” he points out. “They’ve built an ecosystem that aligns perfectly with our vision at Discovery,” he adds. Zaslav points out that Discovery has a lot of motivation “for fueling people’s passions.” So it seems like the brands are a natural fit for each other. Chip and Joanna Gaines also released a joint statement about this exciting new development. “Our intention with this network,” the statement begins. The Gaineses continue: “is to create and curate content that inspires, encourages, and helps to build bridges across our communities.” “We want honest, authentic programming,” the statement affirms. They want to create content “that brings families together.” “We believe David Zaslav and the team at Discovery are the perfect partners for this ambitious joint venture,” The Gaineses express. “And,” their statement continues. “We know Allison Page is the right person to lead this charge.” She’s certainly going to have her hands full, but she’s proven herself already at HGTV. “We’re ready to get started,” Chip and Joanna’s statement concludes. “And are expectant for all that’s ahead.” We’re still waiting on the names that all of these things will have, however. So when is all of this going down? The launch is scheduled for the summer of 2020. As exciting as this is for fans, others feel a little put off. It seems clear that Chip and Joanna have made a number of business decision with the aim of raking in as much cash as possible. Some of us would say that there’s nothing wrong with that, but others feel that this is a betrayal of their wholesome family image. Source: Bill Ross / Getty Man Pushes Child From Third Floor Balcony A 24-year old Man is currently in custody due to what police are calling the “Mall Of America incident.” According to reports, a 5-year-old child suffered significant injuries when a man either threw or pushed him from the third floor of the Mall of America in Bloomington, MN. Eyewitnesses told police Chief Jeff Potts that the person suspected of pushing or throwing the child “took off running immediately after the incident.” Potts told reporters : “At this time, we do not believe that there is a relationship between the child or the family of the child. The child did suffer significant injuries. [He] has been transported to the hospital and has been receiving care. [We] believe this to be an isolated incident.” The Bloomington Police Department is investigating an incident at the Mall of America today. A five-year-old child suffered injuries and is at the hospital now. A press conference will happen outside the north entrance at 12:15 PM next to the security vehicle. Source: Jim McIsaac / Getty Students At LeBron’s School Are Improving Their Test Scores In the very short time since LeBron James opened his I Promise School in his home state of Ohio, the students there have already exceeded expectations. According to a new report from the New York Times , children at the school have seen both their math and their reading scores increase since it opened in July of 2018. After participating in the Measures of Academic Progress assessment, 216 of 240 students were found to have met or exceeded their expected growth at the mid-year mark. When they first came into the school, reading comprehension scores for third and fourth grade students were consistently in the lowest percentile. Today, third graders have advanced all the way to the 9th percentile, while fourth graders rose to the 16th. In math, third graders were in the first percentile and have since jumped to 18th. Fourth graders went to the 30th percentile after being in the second. “These kids are doing an unbelievable job, better than we all expected,” James told the Times of the students and their progress. “When we first started, people knew I was opening a school for kids. Now people are going to really understand the lack of education they had before they came to our school. The school was built to serve at-risk children, but it also offers parents opportunities, like the ability to finish high school, even promising free tuition to the University of Akron upon graduation. Beyond those already impressive promises, students also receive free breakfast, lunch and snacks, as well as a free bike, according to Time . The school’s first year is set to wrap up in May and STEM-based camps will be offered throughout the summer. The school is expected to serve all grades from first to eighth within the next four years. I Promise’s inaugural students are now preparing to take the state’s standardized tests with results expected in the summer.
