The mother daughter duo went to the Strand bookstore in New York City to talk about their book, and while there Tyra Banks talked to TicToc about gender pay gap, and how women can do their best to receive the pay they deserve when at a job. A lot of people might go to their bosses and plead for a raise, talking about the things they need–“I need this raise because I can’t pay my rent,” “I need this raise because I don’t have the money to do this or that,” Tyra shoots down that option, saying there’s a better way. When going to your boss for a raise, the America’s Next Top Model creator urges women to tell their bosses the reason they deserve more money, and why their bosses are the ones who NEED them, and therefore need to give them a raise. That wasn’t the only thing Tyra and her mother talked about regarding the book, either. Banks also mentions her thoughts on Kanye West , and why him being “Self-centered” is actually a good trait, because he “never dulls his shine to make anyone else feel comfortable.” “I look at him as what a lot of people need more of. Kanye never dulls his shine to make anyone feel comfortable.” Tyra Banks mentioning Kanye in her interview with @MONEY . https://t.co/8v7xT5uzXt pic.twitter.com/zOxEbzwipo — TeamKanyeDaily (@TeamKanyeDaily) April 7, 2018

RICARDO ARDUENGO/AFP/Getty Images Puerto Rico To Close Nearly 300 Schools This Summer Puerto Rico’s Department of Education announced on Thursday that it is going to close 283 schools this summer. This comes following a sharp drop in enrollment amid the island’s long economic slump, and of course the continued departure of families after the effects of Hurricane Maria. Education Secretary Julia Keleher said that even though they’re closing a large amount of facilities, there will be no layoffs. Teachers and other employees are set to be reassigned to other schools, which is part of a fiscal plan that aims to save the department somewhere around $150 million. Right now, The U.S. territory has more than 1,100 public schools that serve 319,000 students–but a large fraction of that is going to be chopped this summer. Keleher commented on the impending closures saying, “We know it’s a difficult and painful process. Our children deserve the best education that we are capable of giving them taking into account Puerto Rico’s fiscal reality.” She also said that enrollment has dropped by more than 38,700 students since just last May, and that nearly half of the schools are using only 60 percent of their capacity. After the closures, 828 public schools will remain operational. Keleher said she has invited mayors in the island’s 78 municipalities to propose new uses for the shuttered schools. Aida Diaz, president of a union that represents some 30,000 teachers, said she and others would fight the closures. She said in a statement to The Associated Press , “The damage that the Secretary of Education is doing to children, youth and their parents is immeasurable.” There’s more to worry about than just the number of schools being closed. Those who oppose the closures are worried about transportation, along with the needs of special education children; Somewhere around 30% of Puerto Rico’s students receive specialized education, which is twice the average on the U.S. mainland. This stark drop in enrollment comes as roughly a half million people have fled Puerto Rico for the U.S. mainland in the past decade due to their long recession–an estimated 135,000 of those have been since Hurricane Maria in back in September.
Chadwick Boseman Plays Black Jeopardy For His First SNL Skit Saturday marked Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman’s first time hosting Saturday Night Live, and for the first skit of the night, he came out playing his signature character. T’Challa took part in a game of Black Jeopardy, and it’s safe to say that Wakandans have pretty different life experience than Black people in America…which makes for a hilarious game.
Lauren Summer, to celebrate the summer, but more interestingly, to celebrate the world of the social media influencer, personality, well followed sex worker who pretends she’s not a sex worker, but who gets naked for her patreon, for her paying customers, because it is more lucrative than promoting skinny tea… It’s interesting to see that all these girls who amassed followers being provocative, scramble for money, after getting the followers, from being a sex worker…because when dudes pay you for nudes…that’s sex work girl.. The instagram has made so many whores…realize their dreams…through whoring…and I think that alone is Zuckerberg’s biggest contribution to the world…

Hmmm… is it too late for Justin Bieber to tell Bill Hader he's sorry? The former Saturday Night Live cast member was a guest on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday, in promotion of his upcoming HBO series, when the topic turned to Hader's least favorite SNL host of all-time. And the comedian didn't hesitate in giving a response: Bieber. The answer was undoubtedly Bieber, Hader said. “He was in a bad place,” Hader said, thinking back to Bieber's much darker days and adding: “Maybe he’s in a better place, but back then … It was rough.” The artist served as host and musical guest on a February 2013 episode. At the time, he was in the middle of a world tour at the time, having just released his third studio album, Believe, in June 2012… and drinking a lot, partying often and generally acting like a dick. Hader told Bill Simmons on his podcast last week that Bieber yelled at some SNL staff members who were simply trying to do a wardrobe change for him, while showing up with a giant entourage. He said similar things to Howard Stern back in May of 2013. “Justin Bieber showed up with like 20 guys and every time – backstage is a very small constructed place – he had a guy holding a slice of pizza, a guy holding a Diet Coke,” Hader told Stern, adding: “You were trying to fight around all these people to get dressed.” Once again, Hader did try to be diplomatic about Bieber's terrible behavior and attitude. “Everyone’s usually on great behavior. Everyone’s very excited. Most times it’s 100 percent and that’s why I think Bieber was the only one, in my experience. “He just seemed, like, exhausted or at the end of a rope. He was just so huge.” It was a tough time for the star, who is sort of going through another one now as he tries to win back over Selena Gomez . On the flip side, Hader also told Stern a few years ago: “I had nice chats with [Bieber] when he was doing the scenes… he was a nice guy. He would try to do the best that he can.” Watch Hader explain his issues with Justin below:
