Beating out the competition, it was the second year in a row the NBC series won the SAG award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. If you’ve been tuning in , there’s no way you’re surprised…the show is known to simultaneously inspire tears, laughter, shock, and hope, all while taking on issues of race, body image, sexuality, and mental health. Along with winning Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, the thespians of Wakanda also destroyed the red carpet with lewks for the ancestors. However, despite the turtleneck greatness from Chadwick Boseman or the Black-don’t-crack aura from people like Angela Bassett , one BP star had critics and fans more…divided. Michael B. Jordan showed up in a cross-body Louis Vuitton harness that was splattered with the label’s signature monogram. The unorthodox accessory has the potential to become a popular trend. According to Vogue , we have the head of Louis Vuitton’s menswear Virgil Abloh to thank. The designer revealed “harness-wear” at a presentation for his Spring 2019 collection and it didn’t take long for big names to notice the look. First, Call Me by Your Name star Timothy Chalamet wore a Black sequined harness at the 76th Golden Globes… Then actor, singer and model Kris Wu debuted a black leather harness look at Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2019 show in Paris… With Michael B. taking the reigns…or the harness, it’s clear this trend might not be leaving anytime soon. With that being said, certain conclusions can be made about the impact harnesses can have on the culture. Hit the next pages to find out what they are!
Source: Jesse Grant / Getty Judge Grants Tisha Campbell Martin Temporary Restraining Order After Ex-Husband Duane Martin After Domestic Abuse Claims According to TMZ , Tisha Campbell-Martin claims her estranged husband (Duane Martin) has been abusive for years and that he flew into a violent rage just last month. The sitcom star filed for a restraining order against Duane, alleging he once “punched her in the chest with a closed fist”. She also says in December, Duane “grabbed me by my arm to try to get me in the bedroom.” She reportedly filed a police report in January about the multiple alleged physical altercations. Duane allegedly started physically, emotionally and mentally abusing Tisha as early as the beginning their marriage in 1996 and that he berated her about her weight and inability to land roles because of her bigger size. “I can no longer live in fear of retaliation … the need to press criminal charges for his acts overshadows the embarrassment of making his crimes against me public through this report.” she claims. A judge granted her a temporary restraining order that requires Duane to stay at least 100 yards away from her as they iron out the particulars of their divorce.

Source: Phillip Faraone / Getty Mindy Kaling To Star In Comedy About Diversity In Writers Rooms Amazon just closed a $13 million deal for Late Night , a comedy about diversity in a late night talk show writers room that is written, produced, and stars Mindy Kaling . This marks the first major sale out of the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. Late Night is set to co-star Emma Thompson as a comic who begrudgingly takes an Indian-American writer (played by Kaling) under her wing after she is shamed into hiring more women and minorities. In her cover story for Variety , Kaling said that she saw Late Night as a chance to retell a familiar story of someone trying to break into the entertainment business, but from a fresh perspective. “So much of this movie is about being a fan and being on the outside of the entertainment business,” she told Variety . “That story has been told many, many, many times by 52-year-old white men, and I love all those movies. And as a comedy nerd I’ve always identified with them because it was the closest thing that I could identify with. There was no one like me making those kind of films.” Late Night was originally set up at Fox 2000 with Paul Feig slated to direct the comedy, but plans changed following Kaling’s pregnancy and an illness in Thompson’s family resulted in the start date getting pushed back. Once production finally began, Kaling lined up independent financing and tapped Nisha Ganatra to direct. Late Night also co-stars John Lithgow, Amy Ryan, and Ike Barinholtz.
Source: FayesVision/WENN.com / WENN On Sunday, January 27 at 8/7c, the popular, classic musical RENT will be coming to FOX as a live televised musical for the first time ever. Following the likes of The Wiz and Jesus Christ Superstar, RENT: Live will give fans from all over the world the chance to watch the Broadway classic be performed live, right in front of their television screens. The cast in the 2019 reboot includes: Jordan Fishe r as Mark Cohen, Brennin Hunt as Roger Davis, Tinashe as Mimi Marquez, Brandon Victor Dixon as Tom Collins, Drag Race’s Valentina as Angel Dumott Schunard, Vanessa Hudgens as Maureen Johnson, Kiersey Clemons as Joanne Jefferson and for the first time in his career, R&B singer Mario stars in his first musical as Benjamin Coffin III. We got the opportunity to sit down with Mario and talk to him about how it feels to pop his stage play cherry live in front of the entire world. Source: FayesVision/WENN.com / WENN For Mario, he wasn’t a really big Broadway fan, so like many non-Broadway enthusiasts, he wasn’t familiar with RENT at first. “It wasn’t until after my first audition that I actually saw [RENT],” Mario admits. “I’ve been hearing ‘Seasons of Love’ all my life, just in the background, knowing the song but having not really watched the movie.” However, when the opportunity presented itself for Mario to audition, he took a moment to see the film and found himself identifying with the character Benny. He says, “Now that I’ve seen the movie and now that I know that I’m playing Benny’s part, I found relation to him, coming from Baltimore, growing up in poverty-stricken areas, leaving when I was 15 years old, and going back a few years later thinking to myself, ‘What can I do to change the circumstances of some of these kids growing up in the city.’” Mario also discusses how he’s given back to his hometown of Baltimore. “I started the Do Right Foundation where I was working with the children of substance abused parents because I experienced that,” says Mario. “In that way, I can relate to Benny in the fact that he sees a brighter future for the East Village. His way of going about it is a little harsh. But, I started there and I’ve just been building on the character ever since then.” Source: FOX / Getty Mario admits that before RENT, he never really had aspirations of wanting to get into theater, however, after being asked to audition for the musical “Hair”, the thought eventually crossed his mind. Unfortunately, he never pursued it further but that’s what makes RENT even better. It’s something completely new. As far as whether or not Mario plans to go on Broadway, the singer says that he’d love to do more one-off shows like the live showing of RENT on FOX, but he’s not ready to take on Broadway full time. “I probably won’t do traveling theater,” he said. “I have a lot of musical aspirations. I’m going on tour after this. I’m putting another project out as well. I’m just going to continue to evolve and hopefully along that path I’ll have more experiences like RENT.” The tour Mario is referring to is the upcoming Millennium Tour alongside B2K, Pretty Ricky, Chingy and others. The nostalgic R&B tour sold out in several cities, with promoters having to add additional dates. When asked how he feels about being back on stage with some of his old friends, Mario says, “I’ve been so focused on RENT, I don’t know how it feels yet. I’ve literally been in this world. But when I think about it, for me, it’s more exciting for me to get to see the fans. I’m excited about the fans! I’m excited to see how excited they are. It’s a weird time for R&B right now and I think that although R&B is making a comeback right now, this is an exciting moment for R&B fans who remember the Scream Tour. I’m also excited to get back out there and introduce some new music.” Make sure you tune in to FOX on Sunday, January 27th at 8/7c to watch Mario make his musical debut on RENT.
Source: Gina Wetzler / Getty YG Received A $20K Payday From Birdman In A Football Bet YG has a lot of reasons to be happy right now. The rapper received a $20,000 payday from Birdman, all from a little football bet. YG officially confirmed that his payment came in on his Twitter account on Friday. Birdman money kame In — STAY DANGEROUS (@YG) January 24, 2019 Last Sunday, January 20, the Bompton native posted a video of himself celebrating the Los Angeles Rams and their victory over the New Orleans Saints in their NFC playoff matchup. As you probably already know, The Rams are now set to make their way to the 2019 Super Bowl and play against the New England Patriots on February 3 in Atlanta. Since the Rams’ win earlier in the week, YG has been on social media very publicly demanding that the Cash Money Records CEO pay him his money. Many fans jokingly assumed that since Birdman took almost 10 years to pay his own signee Lil Wayne, he would probably take his sweet time paying YG what he’s owed. He owes me $ https://t.co/PSsosXWd69 — STAY DANGEROUS (@YG) January 21, 2019 But luckily for YG (and for Birdmans’s reputation) that’s not the case this time. He paid the rapper his 20,000 less than a week later. Continue reading →
Unlike members of the Duggar Family, who scarcely even look their partner in the eye until marital vows are exchanged, the following preview for Counting On Season 4 is just one big tease. Yes, the 90-second trailer focuses a little bit on Jinger going into labor, making it clear just how scary of a process this was for the relatively new mother. “I thought an epidural would probably be best because I was so at the end of anything I could do – I had no energy or strength to continue on,” the 25-year old says in this sneak peek. And, yes, we'll also see John David propose to girlfriend Abbie Burnett inside of an airport hangar… by reading his proposal off a long sheet of paper. And there will be clips of Jana Duggar and family friend Laura DeMasie helping to coordinate the affair for 1,000 guests. Elsewhere, you better there will be snippets of Josiah Duggar and wife Lauren flying off for a chaperone-free, romantic honeymoon in Austria, where they tour iconic sights from The Sound of Music and learn to speak some German. However, the real drama comes toward the end of this teaser, where hear a producer ask various cast members: What if I told you that somebody else in your family has a big announcement? We then see each of their reactions. “What do you mean?” aks Joy-Anna. “Really?” replies Ben Seewald. There's an audible WHOA! and then a producer says to Jana: “James was letting on that it was you.” And she just giggles. For this reason, fans are wondering whether the major news is that Jana actually is courting after all, despite her recent denials . It would be about time for the 28-year old, right? Counting On returns February 11 at 9 p.m. ET on TLC. Check out the enticing preview now!
Well, it was a good run. For the better part of a decade, the original Teen Mom (later known as Teen Mom OG) was a force to be reckoned with on the overcrowded landscape of basic cable reality shows. But all good things must come to an end, and it seems that Teen Mom OG’s time at the top is no exception. In a trend that seems to have started when Farrah Abraham was fired from the show last year, TMOG’s ratings have been in a freefall for several months. As Radar Online reports, this year’s season premiere marked the show’s smallest audience to date. And things started bad and got worse, as viewership continued to decline over the course of the season. In 2017, the show’s season premiere drew in a whopping 1.3 million. By the end of its most recent season, TMOG was attracting just over half a million viewers Compare that to the show’s spinoff, Teen Mom 2, which averaged nearly 1.2 million throughout its 2018 season. Not surprisingly, producers are scrambling to figure out a solution and restore the show to its former glory. The additions of Bristol Palin and Cheyenne Floyd didn’t turn out to be the ratings boon that producers had hoped — but there’s still hope that tinkering with the cast will help draw in a larger audience. “There’s been talk about more airtime for certain friends and family,” a production source tells Radar Online. “Tyler Baltierra’s friend River Ceballos has been approached about filming scenes with him.” Radar reports that Levi Johnston and his wife, Sunny, will also play a larger role on the show’s upcoming season. “We’re filimg,” Sunny confirmed during a recent Instagram Q&A. The insider says producers were happy to learn that Amber Portwood will not be quitting the show , as she had previously threatened. “She had second thoughts about leaving. She now wants to stay with the MTV family and share her story,” says the insider. “Because of the fans and her 10-year history on the show, she doesn’t want to leave abruptly.” Without Farrah, Amber is the show’s number one source of drama, and losing her might have meant the end for Teen Mom OG. The producers are navigating tricky waters at this point. They hope to liven the show up with new castmates, but they have to be careful not to anger any of the existing cast with major changes. “The OGs will get a heads up on major changes and new members,” the source claims. Whatever the producers decide to do, they had better do it quickly — as it sounds like this might their last chance to turn things around. View Slideshow: Teen Mom OG: Renewed For Another Season!
