Lo Bosworth, who has said that seeing the show again is like watching “home movies,” had only one way to describe the finale. “The ending, I felt, was spectacular,” she told MTV News. “I think the fans will forever question: Was it fake or was it real? And I don’t think I will be answering that question.” “That day of filming, it was surreal to me, because they wouldn’t tell me what we were filming,” said Brody Jenner, who shared that an ending with Lauren Conrad had been shot as well. “I think the show has always battled with what’s real and what’s fake, and this ending was perfect, because you still don’t know what was real, what was fake, and it’s kind of like L.A., in a sense. I thought it was very clever, and I was happy with it. I was stoked they were ending it with me. I was flattered.” “I mean, I think we both couldn’t have been happier with the ending. We were speechless,” Kristin Cavallari said about the final scene, which saw her get into a waiting car destined for the airport and a plane to Europe — or so we thought. Instead of pulling away, the camera pans out to show the entire production, including crew members and cameramen. With the “fourth wall” dropped in the final moments, what does the show’s original star, Lauren Conrad, think about the show ending after all these years? “I think it’s sad to see something that was so great, to see it come to and end is always bittersweet,” she said. “But I think they had a great run.
