Source: J. Shearer / Getty In more Super Bowl news …it looks like Janet Jackson won’t be performing with Justin Timberlake during the Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday after all. The iconic singer confirmed the news on social media on Saturday. “To put to rest any speculation or rumors as to whether I will be performing at the Super Bowl tomorrow; I will not,” she wrote. “Thank you for your support and I do look forward to seeing you all very soon.” pic.twitter.com/W2ZsGkTFs2 — Janet Jackson (@JanetJackson) February 4, 2018 This news has us like… As we previously wrote , the last time the two performed together at a Super Bowl it spurred the infamous Nipplegate. Remember, back in 2004, at the end of hit song ‘Rock Your Body,’ Timberlake was supposed to pull off a part of Jackson’s costume to reveal her lacy bra, but instead her bare breast partially covered with a metal nipple pasty was exposed, sparking nationwide outrage. CBS made Janet issue a public apology for the moment saying, “My decision to change the Super Bowl performance was made after the final rehearsal. MTV, CBS, [and] the NFL had no knowledge of this whatsoever and unfortunately, the whole thing went wrong in the end. I am really sorry if I offended anyone, that was truly not my intention.” Even though she apologized, her invitation to present at the 2004 Grammys was rescinded while JT went on to win two trophies that night. Even worse: Apparently, Janet’s videos were blacklisted from MTV that happens to be owned by Viacom that also owns CBS. Janet’s career paid a huge price, while Justin got a slap on the wrist. Sigh… While Janet won’t get her justice when it comes to the Super Bowl, Black Twitter–thanks to film director Matthew Cherry — has named Feb. 4 as #JanetJacksonAppreciationDay to celebrate her greatness: When you get #JanetJacksonAppreciationDay trending the same day of Justin Timberlake's Super Bowl performance. pic.twitter.com/dy3WV7fIoQ — Matthew A. Photo by Jennifer H. Cunningham Kenya Moore Gives Relationship Advice At The “Women Doing It Big” Conference In NYC “Real Housewives of Atlanta’s” Kenya Moore has opened up about her newlywed life with her husband, Marc – but not without blasting her personal trainer ex, Matt Jordan. Moore surprised fans late last year when she announced she’d eloped with Marc, a former pro-ball player and investment banker. And on Saturday at the annual “Women Doing It Big” conference, she told the several hundred women there that she was still getting the hang of married life. “Listen, I am a newlywed, and it’s new for me,” Moore said on a celebrity panel with actresses Elise Neal and Antonique Smith. “So I’m not the expert here. I’m figuring it out as I go. It’s more difficult for me because I split my time between Atlanta and New York. My husband and I, we do go back and forth. So, one week we’re in New York, one week we’re in Atlanta – one week we’re in Egypt.” Photo by Jennifer H. Cunningham However, Moore said having a husband who supportive of her and her career goals made the transition easier, even though she admits she’s an “alpha female.” “I learn so much from just listening and having him analyze different things for me,” she said. “So that is still difficult because I’m an alpha female. And being able to listen, and understand he does know more than me in this area. I just think it’s learning and experiencing things as they come and be open to it.” Moore encouraged the attendees not to give up on love, saying she got married at 46, and to never settle – but not without shading her ex, Matt Jordan, who was heavily featured on RHOA. “If he’s breaking your windows let him go,” she said. “Because around that corner, there’s a man that’s for you. You don’t have to settle for crazies and psychos and the kind of people who’ll drag you down and making you look crazy because your with crazy.”

Lexus has just unveiled an extended-length version of Long Live The King, its upcoming Super Bowl commercial for the 2018 Lexus LS 500 F SPORT – a spot in which Chadwick Boseman reprises his title role from Marvel Studio’s highly-anticipated film, Black Panther. What did you think of the ad? Best Super Bowl Commercial ever? Here’s more on the commercial: As King T’Challa (AKA Black Panther), Bosemen is making history as Marvel Studios’ first ever Black lead in a film and has already broken Marvel Studios’ previous pre-sale box-office records. Noteworthy as well is the gender and cultural diversity of the creative team behind Lexus’ Super Bowl work, Walton Isaacson. As the brand’s agency of record for Black, Hispanic and LGBTQ communications, Walton Isaacson spearheaded the partnership between Lexus and Marvel Studios and developed a marketing effort that spans Lexus product integration in the Black Panther film; the creation of the graphic novel, Black Panther: Soul of a Machine; a star-studded Comic Con launch event; forthcoming New York Fashion Week activations; and several digital, print, and in-market extensions to support the program. The Super Bowl spot, directed by Samuel Bayer, and featuring the hit track “Legend Has It” from famed hip-hop duo, Run the Jewels, is filled with intense action sequences performed by actors and stunt people from the Black Panther movie. Die-hard fans will note the attention to canon detail in the portrayal of Black Panther’s Dora Milaje guards, and snippets taken from the film itself. Based on their efforts with the Black Panther film integration and unique approach to the Super Bowl spot, Lexus awarded Walton Isaacson the broadcast creative assignment for the launch of the LS 500, the brand’s new flagship sedan, and the most technologically advanced vehicle Lexus has ever made. “Partnering Lexus and Marvel Studios’ Black Panther was an authentic fit. Both the brand and the film are breaking new ground in terms of advanced technology and cultural leadership,” said agency co-founder, Aaron Walton. Marvel/Lexus Co Branded Images Walton Isaacson lives and breathes the idea of cultural leadership. The Walton Isaacson Super Bowl team are comprised of Black, Latino, Asian and Caucasian leads—over half of whom are women – including Executive Producer, Shauna Williams, who is one of very few women of color to executive produce a Super Bowl spot. This cultural mix was a key factor in the development of Long Live The King.
