Justin Bieber and Ozzy Osborne team up for Superbowl Commercial

Justin Bieber has filmed a commercial for the upcoming superbowl. Justin’s commercial is a midgame ad for Best Buy, co’starring Ozzy Osbourne. The ad will be the electronics chain’s first-ever Super Bowl commercial, and the 30-second shot will air during the third quarter of the game. Details are being kept under wraps, though a photo of the Biebs and Ozzy, dressed decidedly Tron-like, has been released. The shoot took place Jan. 17 at Universal Studios, and while on set Bieber tweeted out something of a tease. “Can’t really say what I’m up to today but when u guys find out its gonna be funny as heck #todaywasepic,” he wrote. The commercial will be the first of many for Justin Bieber and Best Buy, as he’s due to appear in several more ads through the year. An expert told USA Today the teen star is likely pocketing in excess of $1 million for the gig.

The unlikely duo teamed up, and dressed up, to film a Best Buy Super Bowl commerical recently and slowly but surely details have been leaked about the futuristic 30-second clip. Justin Bieber (Getty) Justin hinted at the shoot on his Twitter page on January 17, writing: “Can't really say what I'm up to today but when u guys find out its gonna be funny as heck.” He later included: “#todaywasepic.” Then, just this week he let the cat out of the bag: He's filming a “pretty funny commercial” with Ozzy. This will be Best Buy's first Super Bowl ad, and it's surely going to get a lot of buzz from all sorts of fans when it airs in the third quarter during the big game. Justin Bieber can check another icon off his list after working with Black Sabbath singer and music legend Ozzy Osbourne for a Super Bowl commercial. The Best Buy ad will feature Ozzy and Biebs wearing ‘Tron’-esque suits. PEOPLE writes that the commercial was filmed Jan. 17. That same day, Bieber posted some cryptic, excited tweets to his 6.9 million followers, throwing down the hashtag #todaywasepic. According to USA Today, the 30-second ad will run in the third quarter of the Super Bowl. “Justin Bieber is the biggest star out there, but that’s not why he’s in the spot,” Best Buy marketing chief Drew Panayiotou told the newspaper. “He symbolically represents something important to the brand message.” Bieber will appear in more Best Buy spots throughout 2011. USA Today contends Bieber is using the spot as “a serious bid to move beyond the world of tween heartbreaker.” ‘Branded: The Buying and Selling of Teenagers’ author Alissa Quart tells the paper Biebs and Oz “are both fish out of water in what we imagine a Super Bowl ad should be: babes and beer.” Ozzy proved he’s in touch with today’s popular performers by commenting on the potential overexposure of Lady Gaga, telling Us Weekly, “I like her, but I’m getting a bit sick of her. Justin Bieber Super Bowl ad to plug Best Buy

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — This year’s Super Bowl broadcast will feature star-studded ads, with Justin Bieber and Ozzy Osbourne teaming up for a Best Buy spot, and with Kim Kardashian headlining an ad for Skechers. Teen crooner Justin Bieber will star in Best Buy’s (BBY, Fortune 500) first-ever Super Bowl ad on Feb. 6, when the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Green Bay Packers for the biggest football game of the year. Best Buy confirmed that he’ll be co-starring with the venerable heavy metal front man and reality TV star Osbourne, but didn’t provide details of how the two would be co-pitching electronics in the 30-second spot. “We’re delighted to have Justin and Ozzy help us tell the Best Buy story,” said Drew Panayiotou, senior vice president of U.S. marketing at Best Buy. “We know people have high expectations for these ads, and Justin and Ozzy add a whole new dimension of fun.” Meanwhile, Skechers (SKX) has recruited reality TV star Kardashian for a 30-second spot in which she’ll pitching Shape-ups. That’s a type of shoe that “simulates walking in sand” to burn extra calories for people who don’t have time to work out, according to Leonard Armato, president of Skechers Fitness Group. “The reason Kim is a perfect brand fit for Skechers Shape-ups is that she is an extraordinarily huge celeb and her life is as busy as it gets,” said Armato. “Between her reality show, her appearance and the fast-paced social scene that she travels in, she’s time starved.” A sneak peek at Super Bowl ads In the ad, Kardashian will “be breaking someone’s heart in front of 100 million” viewers, Armato said. Other Super Bowl ad celebrities include workout taskmaster Jillian Michaels, who will appear in a GoDaddy spot with race car driver Danica Patrick, and country singer Faith Hill, who will appear in a Teleflora spot. Fox will be broadcasting the game, which is scheduled to be played in Arlington, Texas.

Teen heartthrob Justin Bieber is teaming up with an unlikely co-star for his Super Bowl Sunday ad debut: None other than the Prince of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne . Though it was only a few months ago when Ozzy admitted that he has absolutely no idea who Justin is, the musicians co-star in Best Buy’s first Super Bowl ad as the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Green Bay Packers in next month’s NFL Championship Game. The electronics giant is trying to appeal to both younger and mature consumers and reportedly forked over somewhere in the neighborhood of $1 million to snag the rock great and the beloved pop crooner. “ Justin Bieber is the biggest star out there, but that’s not why he’s in the spot,” Best Buy’s Marketing Chief Drew Panayiotou explained to USA TODAY Wednesday. “He symbolically represents something important to the brand message. Very rarely do you get a big brand looking to evolve into something else. We want to get this brand to a different place.” Details of Ozzy and Justin’s 30-second ad have not been released, but it was filmed earlier this month at Universal Studios in Hollywood and is expected to premiere during the third quarter of the Feb. 6 game.
