Angelina Pivarnick on The Situation: Popeye on Crack!

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is in rehab for his prescription drug problem and his former Jersey Shore co-star, Angelina Pivarnick, is not the least bit surprised. Or particularly sympathetic, apparently. Ange, who quit the show in each of its first two seasons (for good the second time around), slammed Sitch to the New York Post, terming him “Popeye on crack.” “When he was on the show, he got in trouble for prescription pills,” she added, saying he’s dabbled in drugs for a while. “We were filming in a club in Miami.” “One of the producers said, ‘Hey what was that?’ He had to give them up.” Asked if The Situation has a drug problem, his rep directed us to his Facebook page, where he came clean about the issue after some initially vague denials. TMZ first reported that Mike was in rehab . He’s now confirmed that. “I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion,” he wrote, thanking his fans for their support.

Demi Lovato Teases March 6 Special On MTV

Singer tweets out a photo of her wrists emblazoned with her ‘Stay Strong’ tattoos and the date ‘3.6.2012.’ By Jocelyn Vena What does Demi Lovato have up her sleeve? We’ll know in good time. But for now, the singer/actress tweeted out a photo teasing a super-secret special project she is working on with MTV. The photo features her wrists, emblazoned with her tattoos that read “Stay Strong.” The picture offers up a couple of hints: the date “3.6.2012” and the hashtag #staystrong. “Lovatics-I wanted to tell you FIRST about a special I worked on with @MTV,” she tweeted . “It premieres March 6th at 10pm!! #staystrong” Lovato first showed off the ink back in March 2011, just two months after she left an Illinois treatment center to deal with personal issues including an eating disorder and cutting. “The journey that I went through and the support of my fans was so meaningful to me that I wanted to thank my fans in a way that I know can never be forgotten,” the singer said in 2011. “It’s something that my fans were actually drawing on their wrists while I was still in treatment,” she explained about the significance of her tattoos. “Some people even got tattoos of it, so I wanted to show you guys that I will never forget the support that you guys gave me.” Since returning to the spotlight, she has focused on her music career, including her 2011 album, Unbroken, which launched her empowering hit single “Skyscraper.” Her next single is “Give Your Heart a Break.” Lovato has become a voice for young people struggling with personal issues. In December, she visited and spoke to patients at the Timberline Knolls Center , where she had received treatment. “To be able to share my story and let them know that it gets easier … Life is beautiful … you are worthy of it,” Lovato said. “Please say a prayer for all of those struggling with eating disorders, self-harm, mood disorders and substance abuse.” Tune in to MTV on Tuesday, March 6, at 10 p.m. for Demi Lovato’s top-secret special! Patriots Cut Player Hours Before Super Bowl

Continue reading here:

In what many are calling a heartless business move, the New England Patriots cut wide receiver Tiquan Underwood just a day before playing in the Super Bowl. This is the third time this year Underwood had been cut from the team. There were no disciplinary reasons from the move, the Patriots wanted to make room on the roster for Defensive End Alex Silvestro . To his credit, Underwood was a class act in his reaction to the move, stating on his Twitter page that he was still cheering for The Patriots. “Good Luck To The New England Organization, The Coaches, & All My Teammates… # PatsNation ,” he wrote. “THANK YOU Everyone For Your Support & Sympathy. Im Fine, This Will Only Make Me Stronger…Tough Times Never Last But Tough Ppl Do # TeamWood .” Underwood was third on the New England depth chart behind Chad Ochocinco and had three catches for 30 yards on the season. How Is “Red Tails” Doing At The Box Office?

Hollywood doesn’t believe that Black America will support a movie like Red Tails , and many African-Americans are making it a point to make to see the film this weekend to help boost the box office numbers. But how is Red Tails doing? So far, the movie is exceeding expectations. However, studio execs don’t expect the support to last. Red Tails is currently on track to make$15-$18 million this weekend, and $6-8 million today (January 20th). This would make Red Tails the No. 2 film in theaters, behind  Underworld Awakening starring Kate Beckinsale and Michael Ely, which should bring in $24-$27 million. Kristen Stewart’s Big ‘Nerdy’ Week

The ‘Breaking Dawn’ star’s ‘Snow White’ trailer and possible ‘Akira’ casting are hot topics on ‘Talk Nerdy to Me.’ By Josh Wigler Kristen Stewart in “Snow White & The Huntsman” Photo: Universal Kristen Stewart is having a big week. Not only is she kicking off the first of her final two “Twilight” films with Friday’s (November 18) release of “Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” she also set the geek world on fire with her “Snow White and the Huntsman” trailer and reports that she could join the cast of “Akira,” based on the beloved Katsuhiro Otomo anime and manga of the same name. But the reactions to those two projects have been decidedly mixed — as with all things, there’s some good and some bad — so it’s up to us to dive into those topics and more on this week’s episode of “Talk Nerdy to Me.”Keep reading for a taste of all the “Nerdy”-ness that awaits you this week! KStew Approaches “Akira” News dropped earlier this week that an offer has been made to Stewart to join the cast of “Akira” as Kei, the psychokinetic female lead. It’s not necessarily Stewart’s casting that has fans so up in arms, but the very nature of the project itself: Gone are the Asian influences of the original “Akira,” as Neo-Tokyo is renamed Neo-Manhattan and an all-Japanese cast is turned into an all-white one, among other grievances. “Nerdy” resident fanboy Brian Phares and MTV Geek’s Alex Zalben were divided on their feelings on the “Akira” adaptation; find out what they had to say in this week’s episode. Kristen’s Total “Snow” Out While not everyone is on-board with Stewart approaching “Akira,” the support for her work in “Snow White and the Huntsman” is unanimous. Kristen’s debut as the fairy-tale-princess-turned-cunning-warrior electrified the Web last Thursday and continues to impress over a week later. But Stewart’s not the only fairest maiden around: Lily Collins made her Snow White debut in the “Mirror, Mirror” trailer, which has not been as warmly received … with the exception of one “Talk Nerdy” host (definitely not yours truly, you guys), who can’t contain his excitement for Tarsem Singh’s next movie. (Seriously, I’m really pumped.) Doctor Potter Moving away from Kristen for a moment, the nerdosphere was taken by surprise this week with the announcement that “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” director David Yates would be launching a big-screen take on “Doctor Who,” the popular BBC television series that’s been around for nearly 50 years now. There’s some skepticism that this vision of “Who” will ever see theaters, though Zalben, our resident “Who” expert, has a different take on the news. Men of Steel, Too! In other surprising movie news, rumors emerged this week that “Man of Steel” is already ramping up its sequel. Warner Bros. is reportedly seeking writers for a follow-up to Zack Snyder’s Superman film — a year and a half ahead of that movie’s June 2013 release, mind you — and Team Nerdy pondered whether it’s just too early to look so far ahead. “Breaking” the Box Office We closed out this week’s episode with another round of Stewart-related goodness, examining the box-office prospects for “Breaking Dawn.” Spoiler alert: It’s going to make a metric you-know-what ton of money. We also looked ahead at next week’s new releases and vocalized our support for the return of the “Muppets.” Get all of our box-office analysis in this week’s “Talk Nerdy.” Tell us what you thought of this week’s “Talk Nerdy to Me” in the comments section! Jennifer Love Hewitt Thick Legs Aren’t in a Bandage Dress of the Day

Jennifer Love Hewitt is far more fun to look at when in her girdle or SPANX as they are marketed this generation, push up bra, and a designer dress made out of bandage material, that acts as further support for where the SPANX aren’t pulling through….you know turning fat chicks, or thick bitches, that you otherwise would only want to fuck when you meet at 3 am, while drunk in a late night pizza place, cuz as her body pretty explicitedly outlines, she likes to eat….but I’m lazy and I’ve got these pics, so I’ll post them anyway….you know since no one cares what I have to say anyway…..anyway, here are the pics.

Russell Simmons Is Part Of ‘The 100%’ In Occupy Movement

‘It’s just nutty to think that people can’t use their celebrity for good,’ Simmons says. By Rob Markman Russell Simmons Photo: MTV News So what if Russell Simmons is rich? The hip-hop mogul doesn’t believe that takes away from his support of the Occupy movement in the least bit. For the Def Jam co-founder, it doesn’t matter if he is part of the 1 percent — ultimately all he wants is to be part of the solution. “I can’t show solidarity with the people that are suffering?” Rush asked MTV News rhetorically. “I just don’t want to have corporations control our government, I want a better democracy. I’m part of the 100 percent. If they’re suffering, I’m suffering with them.” Russell, who has spent much of his career fighting social injustice, wrote a blog on his Global Grind website in September asking the U.S. government to raise his taxes in an effort to reverse the effects of the economic recession. “For far too long in this country we have allowed the rich to get richer and the poor to get poorer,” he wrote. Simmons has since been a chief supporter of New York’s Occupy Wall Street movement, which began in September. Rush, who is worth more than $340 million, will not let his bank account or celebrity keep him from doing what he feels is right. “Muhammad Ali, didn’t he help build the Nation of Islam? Did he help stop the war in Vietnam? Did Harry Belafonte and those guys help Dr. Martin Luther King?” the mogul questioned. On October 10, Simmons brought the very famous Kanye West out to Zuccotti Park and has since rolled down to the demonstration with Katy Perry and her comic husband Russell Brand. Tom Morello , David Banner and Talib Kweli have all visited and lent their support. Some have questioned the celebrity motive behind the Occupy movement, but Rush feels anyone who helps raise awareness is helping the cause. “It’s just nutty to think that people can’t use their celebrity for good and that they can’t show up to help people who are suffering,” he said. “I show up, that’s what I do, I add voice to the voiceless, that’s what I do. That’s what rap does. So I don’t see why that’s a conflict. I let people talk but I do have an answer for them, it’s nutty. It’s disingenuous half the time when the media says these things.” Related Videos Inside Occupy Wall Street
