I’ve never really heard of Daniela Ruah before, but she sure knows how to straddle a board. Apparently she’s on NCIS: Los Angeles , and they were filming some surfing scenes for the show. And while I may not be a TV expert, I am when it comes to pictures of girls at the beach. And if you ask me, getting Daniela out of a wetsuit and into a bikini would make these shots at least 10 times better. No need to thank me when the ratings go up, I accept checks. Gerard Butler In Rehab

‘300’ actor reportedly entered treatment three weeks ago for substance abuse and ‘pain management.’ By Jocelyn Vena Gerard Butler Photo: George Napolitano/FilmMagic Gerard Butler is currently seeking treatment at the Betty Ford Center. According to TMZ , the actor is in rehab for a number of substance-abuse problems including prescription drugs and cocaine, but the focus of his problems are in “pain management.” The site reports that his problems stem back to 2006, when he was shooting “300” and the physical demand took a toll on him. The problem was reportedly aggravated on December 18, when he hurt himself on the set of “Of Men and Mavericks” while surfing. He reportedly entered the rehab facility three weeks ago after he realized he had been using prescription drugs too much and didn’t want it to become a full-on addiction. The site reports he is expected to leave sometime Friday (February 24). He actually opened up about the surfing incident when he appeared on “The Graham Norton Show,” calling it a “pretty close call” back in January. “The movie that I’m making is about big surf. I had been out there paddling … and then suddenly these waves came out of nowhere. I’m paddling on my board and it came and it was about 30 feet high. I was under… I ripped my leash off. I’m just tumbling, tumbling, tumbling. And then I felt the next wave go. All I’m thinking is, ‘There’s a whole film crew out there,’ ” he recalled. “I’ve had a few hairy experiences in training for this movie. This time, I was under for almost a minute.” The incident took place at Maverick, a surf site near Half Moon Bay, California. The film follows Jay Moriarty, a famed young surfer who died at 22 free-diving. Butler plays his mentor, Frosty Hesson.

‘Jackass’ Team Planning Ryan Dunn MTV Tribute

Director Jeff Tremaine hopes special will ‘celebrate his life.’ By James Montgomery Ryan Dunn Photo: Michael Buckner/ Getty Images In the time since his death, “Jackass” star Ryan Dunn has been remembered by his friends and fans, and his life was celebrated in a special tribute video played during a memorial service held in Los Angeles. Now, his “Jackass” associates are planning to honor his legacy with an MTV special, which will feature his greatest moments — and never-before-seen outtakes — from the wildly popular stunt show and subsequent feature films. That’s according to “Jackass” director Jeff Tremaine, who spoke to entertainment site Screen Junkies following MTV’s presentation at the annual Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles. “We’re gearing up to do a tribute to Ryan,” Tremaine told the site. “That’s our next project. [His death] hurt pretty bad. It’s hurt everybody, but we want to celebrate his life and show everybody. We have just such an amazing bank of footage of him. We’re going to dig it all up so we’ll discover it too.” A spokesperson for MTV couldn’t be reached for comment by press time, but Tremaine said he hopes the Dunn special will air in the fall and will include new interviews with the late star’s “Jackass” associates. He also hinted that the show may finally reveal some classic footage that, so far, has remained in the vaults of Dickhouse Productions — for various reasons. “There’s always been the Van Surfing, him and Chris [Pontius] re-enacting a scene from ‘Teen Wolf’ that didn’t go well,” he said. “Ryan was riding on the roof of the van and the van was speeding towards a body of water, stopped a little bit short. He made it to the water but the water was only like five inches deep, slammed pretty bad. Who were the big winners at the People’s Choice Awards? You can probably guess, since you, the people, cast the votes. Gossip Girl star Blake Lively covers the June issue of Vogue . She is not an unattractive female, which may be why it’s her third appearance in just over two years. Anna Wintour gives the following explanation for Blake’s repeat presence: “Lively has been in Vogue before – when Gossip Girl made its initial dent in the popular psyche in March 2008; for her cover with Mario Testino and Tonne Goodman, in February 2009; and as style icon du jour for New York socials in March 2010.” Of Blake, Wintour adds: “She’s a terrific role model for young women: sporty, healthy, family-minded, and effortlessly lovely.” That and flat-out … gulp. This dress, skin-tight and amazingly short, has managed to do something Gossip Girl has not in 65 episodes to date – tame Blake Lively’s chest! It can be done! Lively is currently shooting The Green Lantern in New Orleans, and in the Vogue spread she dons various swimsuits and wetsuits while surfing in San Diego. The only issue? “I haven’t lived in California for so long,” she told the magazine, “My New York guise is gone. Ostrich flats don’t really work on the beach!” So true. Why Google Is Now Topeka

The search engine continues its proud tradition of April Fools’ Day jokes. By Eric Ditzian Topeka Photo: Google Early-morning Web surfers woke up Thursday (April 1) to a strange sight: Google was no longer Google, but a multicolored search engine called Topeka. Say what? Oh, Google, you and your Internet hoaxes! Following in a long line of elaborate pranks, Google decided that for April Fools’ Day , the company would change its name to Topeka, brand equity be damned. The purported name change followed an actual March decision from the town of Topeka, Kansas, which declared its intention to change its name to Google in a bid to become one of the cities in which the company plans to build high-speed broadband networks. On the first day of April, Google repaid the compliment. “We’ve been wondering ever since how best to honor that moving gesture,” the company announced on its official blog . “Today we are pleased to announce that as of 1 a.m. (Central Daylight Time) April 1st, Google has officially changed our name to Topeka.” The hoax is merely the latest for a company that prides itself on a having a sense of humor and famously trumpeted its founding edict: “Don’t be evil.” For April Fools’ Day 2006, the company announced the launch of Google Romance , a send-up of online dating services. A year earlier, Google proudly revealed its intention to sell a line of “smart drinks” to “maximize your surfing efficiency.” In 2004, the search company started advertising for jobs located on the moon . In its most recent announcement, of course, Google gave no indication that the name change was anything less than a verified fact. The decision to switch to Topeka, it seemed, had not been made lightly. “Google employees once known as ‘Googlers’ should now be referred to as either ‘Topekers’ or ‘Topekans,’ depending on the result of a board meeting that’s ongoing at this hour,” read the company’s blog post. “Whatever the outcome, the conclusion is clear: We aren’t in Google anymore.”
