Why Are True Blood Costars Mocking Skarsgård?

We know why the True Blood star Alexander Skarsgård is so hot (that Swedish swagger, deelish bod and nonchalant almost bisexual attitude), so why then, do some of his castmates poke fun at…

Tiger Woods Divorce Moving Forward

Tiger Woods and estranged wife Elin are reportedly moving forward with divorce proceedings and they both want it done quickly and quietly. Sources say Elin, who has been having construction work on property she recently bought in Sweden, would like to take the couple’s two children to live with her in her native country. As for Tiger, the golfer is reportedly seeking either custody or visitation, and the assurance that he can go to either a Swedish or an American court and enforce it if Elin violates it. We didn’t think a Tiger could change his stripes. And it doesn’t seem like Elin did either.

Tiger Woods Divorce Being Hammered Out Quietly?

Tiger and Elin Woods’ divorce, while not official yet, is reportedly in the works, and will be banged out hard and fast … insert obligatory Joslyn James joke here. The golfer and his estranged wife are trying to strike agreements on custody and division of assets . Once they do, they’ll quietly and quickly file divorce papers. This according to sources very familiar with the situation. Not surprisingly, the important thing for both Tiger and Elin Woods, aside from equitable sharing of their kids, is keeping the terms of the divorce confidential.

Swedish House Mafia Make Magic With Dance-Music Smash ‘One’

Song is fastest-ever #1 on Beatport’s download charts, thanks to an early leak. By Adam Stewart Steve Angello Photo: MTV News When we last checked in with our friends Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and Steve Angello from Swedish House Mafia, they were hours away from unleashing a then-untitled single upon thousands and thousands of screaming fans at the Ultra Music Festival during the Winter Music Conference in Miami. Just hours after their show, a Czech house-music blog illegally posted a high-quality version of the song called “Gangster the Dog,” and on Monday, SHM officially released the single under the name “One.” “I don’t know where [the Czech blog] got [that name] from!” Steve Angello told MTV News on Thursday. “Sebastian’s dog is called Gangster, but I don’t know how they pasted his dog together with a track! It was kind of confusing, but, you know, now it’s out.” Dubbed “the hottest record in the world” by BBC DJ Zane Lowe, “One” reached the top of dance-music site Beatport’s downloads chart faster than any other song. Angello admitted that was at least partially due to the buzz drummed up by the leak. “Dirty South [a close friend of SHM] was playing the record, and somebody in Montreal recorded his set without telling him,” Angello said. “After that, we just had to release the record, because everyone was buzzing about it and there were all these clips on YouTube and file-sharing things. So we had to make a quick move and release the record, otherwise it would have been destroyed.” While Beatport declined to provide hard numbers, its vice president of marketing, Shawn Sabo, told MTV News the track went “straight to #1 after only four hours, largely due to the massive hype around the tune from Pete Tong and WMC.” Angello noted that “Leave the World Behind,” the team’s hit from last year (released under the name Axwell, Ingrosso, Angello & Laidback Luke), hit #1 on the Beatport chart “pretty quick, so when this one went straight to #1, broke the record of the quickest #1, and it’s called “One” — it’s perfect!” So what’s next for the gents Ti

Adam Lambert Promises ‘Theatrical’ Glam Nation Tour, Talks Next Single

‘It’ll definitely be something to look at as well as listen to,’ the ‘American Idol’ alum says of live show. By James Montgomery Adam Lambert Photo: Michael Caulfield/WireImage If you were a fan of Adam Lambert ‘s laser-enhanced performance of “Whataya Want From Me” on last week’s “American Idol,” well, you’re in luck. Because on his upcoming Glam Nation Tour — which, according to his official website now has a handful of actual dates — he’s definitely going to be breaking out the big (laser) guns once again. “I hope to use some special-effects lighting like that, sure,” Lambert told MTV News on the red carpet of the GLAAD Media Awards this past Saturday (April 17). “The Glam Nation Tour is going to be very theatrical. People won’t be let down in the glam department; it’ll definitely be something to look at as well as listen to.” And when the Glam Nation Tour kicks off (the first date is tentatively June 4 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania), Lambert will also have a brand-new single to promote: the strutting and sparkly “If I Had You,” which he’s planning on shooting a video for next month. The song, written by the Swedish hitmaking team of Max Martin and Shellback, is a favorite of Lambert’s, not just because of its top-flight pedigree, but because of the message it contains. “It’s a great song — really fun, upbeat, joyful,” Lambert said. “And the message in the song is really exciting, because basically what it’s saying is no matter what color your skin is, no matter what religion you are, no matter what your sexuality is, no matter what your age is, we can all party together. We can all find common love. And all this other stuff — money, success, fortune, fashion, glam — it’s all great, but it doesn’t mean anything if you’re not connecting. … I love it.” Related Artists Adam Lambert

Elin Woods: SO Over Tiger

Tiger Woods has returned to golf, but his cheering section is about to decline by one, as Elin Nordegren consults divorce lawyers in Florida and California. According to reports, the former model has not spent one night with her husband since he returned from sex rehab in time to prepare for The Masters. Instead, Elin Nordegren Woods stays in the Isleworth community near their Orlando, Fla., home in a separate house with their two kids and nannies. “Elin is over Tiger, it’s time to get her house in order,” says a source in Orlando, who says it’s less of a question of if Elin will divorce Tiger , but when. As we reported this week, Nordegren is talking to lawyers about divorce possibilities, and when and if she files, it will most likely go down in Florida. Elin Woods reportedly has a prenup that would pay $20 million if she stays married for 10 years, but has had legal experts pursue sweetening the deal . Unconfirmed reports say Woods offered an additional $80 million in a revised prenup, but even that won’t make her put up with (or put out for) him. One thing that is confirmed is that she bought a $2 million Swedish home on a secluded island and is fixing it up. Is she moving to Sweden for good? Elin, reports say , will soon go to her new Swedish home for a visit. What’s unclear is if she comes back … not that a divorce would be quick or easy. In Florida, where there are children involved, the law requires a three-month parental counseling course before any divorce would become legal. Florida has done this to try to decrease divorces and protect the children in hopes of changing the mind of the parent who wants to sever the ties. Also, if Elin Woods does divorce Tiger, the assets are so numerous, it could take more than a year to review them all and hammer out logistics. Bottom line if/when she does? Tiger is going to get reamed. Nothing is official yet, but what do you think Elin Woods should do?

Miike Snow Count Ke$ha, Adam Lambert, Perez Hilton And More As Fans

‘I’m pretty overwhelmed,’ bandmember Pontus Winnberg says of the group’s success. By Joel Hanek Miike Snow Photo: Downtown Records While not yet a household name, Miike Snow is the band that the household names are listening to. Having only released one album thus far, last summer’s self-titled debut, Miike Snow has quickly gained a following among the blogosphere and established acts alike. Along with inescapable pop sensation Ke$ha , “American Idol” breakout star Adam Lambert named the trio’s debut as one of his favorite albums of 2009, even if he had a little trouble pronouncing the name. He raved to MTV News , “That album is unbelievable!” Blogger Perez Hilton also told MTV News that Miike Snow was one of his favorite acts at this years’ South by Southwest festival , and “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” director Edgar Wright said the group’s uptempo dance track “Animal” was one of his favorites of ’09 . Although the band is relatively new in music years, the members are not amateurs. Miike Snow, an “indie electro-pop trio,” are comprised of American writer/producer Andrew Wyatt along with the Swedish writing/producing team of Chris Karlsson and Pontus Winnberg. The Swedish duo, also known as Bloodshy & Avant, have written for major acts like Madonna and Britney Spears — and won a Grammy for penning Spears’ 2004 infectious hit “Toxic.” Winnberg explained why the Swedes were so good at writing music. “[Sweden is] cold and grim and the only thing you can do is rehearse with your band and write songs and be depressed,” he said. The group formed in 2007 when Wyatt met up with Karlsson and Winnberg. “I was in Sweden because I was touring with another band, stopped off and did some stuff with [Andrew and Chris], just for fun,” Wyatt explained. Even though the three members are mainly experienced behind the control board, they describe the songwriting process as very natural. “It’s very organic,” Winnberg offered. “We like to be in the same place at the same time, so it’s just like us three f—ing around in the studio and whatever happens, happens.” The group has been touring in support of their debut album since last May to a string of sold-out club shows around the country — even making a stop at the Coachella festival along the way. “Yeah, I’m pretty overwhelmed,” Winnberg said of the fans’ response. “I mean, the first time you saw people singing along with the lyrics it was a very cool experience.” “Amazing, and in some ways surprising for us because it’s a new thing for us to be touring,” Karlsson added. Not only does the band have a cavalcade of celebrity followers but, thanks to their production experience, Miike Snow have gotten involved with the best in the world of remixes and remixing. DJ heavyweights like Mark Ronson, Crookers and Fake Blood have remixed “Animal,” and the band themselves have done re-workings of songs by indie darlings Vampire Weekend and Passion Pit. “I guess you kind of take away everything from a production standpoint that is kind of boring — it’s just the fun parts,” Winnberg explained about remixing. “You don’t have to record the vocals, you can more or less just do what you want.” Miike Snow plan to continue touring throughout the summer and hope to record the follow-up to their much buzzed-about debut by the end of the year. Woody Allen, Jean-Luc Godard (and No Terrence Malick) Among Selections for Cannes 2010

The line-up for the 2010 Cannes Film Festival was announced this morning from Paris, and first things first: There is no Terrence Malick on this list. His Brad Pitt/Sean Penn-starring cosmic mindblower Tree of Life won’t be finished in time and/or the famously publicity-shy filmmaker just doesn’t want to deal with the world media, so instead you get slouches like Woody Allen, Jean-Luc Godard, Stephen Frears and Oliver Stone (out of competition) and Mike Leigh, Abbas Kiarostami, Alejandro González Iñárritu and Apichatpong Weerasethakul (in competition). Doug Liman is the only American vying for the Palme d’Or, premiering his Valerie Plame film Fair Game , while his countrymen Lodge Kerrigan and Gregg Araki occupy spots in the Un Certain Regard and Midnight sections. Oh, and Blue Valentine is going — sorry, France ! Click through for the complete line-up, which will unspool in the week or so following Robin Hood ‘s May 12 opening-night premiere.
