Jane Lynch’s ‘Dragon Lady’ Muse

Jane Lynch’s character on Glee . Sue Sylvester, may seem like gorgon dreamed from the actress’s imagination, but Lynch says she based her performance on a professor she had at Illinois State University. “We called her ‘The Dragon Lady,’ and she was an acting teacher. When she walked down the hall, kids would part like the red sea. She wore layers, and she flowed, and she was big, had a loud voice. It was rumored she was a lesbian — in the cornfields of Illinois, God bless her.” She also spilled that Glee ‘s season finale would feature Jonathan Groff performing “Bohemian Rhapsody” and celebrity reappearances. Neil Patrick Harris Plays ‘A Jackass’ On Tonight’s ‘Glee’

‘I certainly had a love scene offscreen with Sue Sylvester,’ NPH jokes of getting close to the show’s Cheerios coach. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Christina Garibaldi Neil Patrick Harris Photo: MTV News On Tuesday night’s (May 18) episode of “Glee,” Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) comes face-to-face with his onetime high school rival, Bryan Ryan. “How I Met Your Mother” actor Neil Patrick Harris guest stars in the role, flexing his singing muscle. “Well, I’m on it,” Harris told MTV News. “I sing a bit, and I’m a jackass. I sing a few [songs], one of which is ‘Dream On’ by Aerosmith. And yeah, that’s me hitting the high note at the end, FYI.” In the episode, directed by Joss Whedon (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”), Gleeks will learn what’s at the root of the feud between the former classmates, and the revelation will be a surprising one, according to Harris. But Harris isn’t only fighting. He hinted there might be some loving too — with a certain head coach. “I don’t know what scenes made it. I certainly had a love scene offscreen with Sue Sylvester, and that was exhausting,” Harris joked. “But we’ll see when we watch the show.” MTV News caught up with Morrison at the Fox upfronts in New York City on Monday, and though he wouldn’t confirm the specific episode story line, he did admit that Jane Lynch, who plays Sue, was known to get frisky with her co-stars on set. “Oh yeah! NPH! I actually haven’t seen the episode so I don’t know,” Morrison said, referring to Harris. “This whole season has felt like one long episode, so it’s kind of hard to think back and remember … I don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow night. I cannot confirm nor deny that, but Jane Lynch is known to do that. I might have done that as well.” Who do you think would win in a sing-off between Matthew Morrison and Neil Patrick Harris? ‘Glee’ ‘s Sue Sylvester Dons Madonna Cone Bra For ‘Vogue’

‘It’s the most powerful I’ve ever felt in my life,’ Jane Lynch says of wearing iconic look. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Audrey Kim Jane Lynch in the “Glee” re-creation of Madonna’s “Vogue” music video Photo: FOX The “Glee” club is taking next week’s “The Power of Madonna” episode (airing April 20) very seriously. Not only are they performing songs like “Vogue,” but they also made their own shot-by-shot re-creation of the iconic video , starring Cheerios Coach Sue Sylvester, which premiered online on Tuesday night. “I do the ‘Vogue’ video in the Madonna episode, and we replicated everything down to the set pieces, the hair pieces, the wardrobe, the lighting,” Jane Lynch revealed to MTV News earlier this week at the party for the “Glee” spring premiere . “It’s in black and white, and you’re gonna love it. It’s amazing.” And while it is surprising to see Sue Sylvester in anything but her signature track suit, she found a way to make sure she gets the best of both worlds elsewhere in the episode. “Oh, yeah, the cone bra, the Gaultier bra, I wear that in one scene. And it’s the most powerful I’ve ever felt in my life,” she dished. “Well, you know what, I wore the cone bra with the track suit, so it worked. It was a win, win.” Not only will Lynch be channeling her inner Madge, she promises that she’ll also be just as scary as ever for the rest of the season. “She terrorizes everybody, still. She gets inappropriate with a bunch of guys. There’s a lot of sexual blackmail,” she explained. “She does a little singing with Olivia Newton John. She gets put in her place in a very interesting, cruel ways by Mr. Will Schuester himself. He gets kind of rough with her, and he really hurts her feelings.” What do you think of Sue Sylvester’s Madonna impression? Tell us in the comments! Related Videos It’s The Return Of ‘Glee’! Sue Sylvester, Glee Cast Cover Vogue

This is an amazing video. While Glee returned to Fox last night with a new episode , the Internet is buzzing today over the song that aired after the installment itself concluded. Featuring Jane Lynch as her character of Sue Sylvester, and along with a couple other Glee cast members, the show actually put together a shot-for-shot recreation of Madonna’s “Vogue” music video. It’s elaborate, it’s entertaining and it’s incredible that a TV show went to this length in order to promote an upcoming episode (tune in next week for a lot more of the Material Girl !). Seriously, if this doesn’t make you a Glee fan, nothing will. Sit back and watch the video below. Sue Sylvester Vogue

‘Glee’ Star Jane Lynch Says She ‘Terrorizes Everybody’ In New Season

‘There’s a lot of sexual blackmail,’ actress says of her character Sue Sylvester’s exploits. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Audrey Kim Jane Lynch at the “Glee” spring premiere on Monday Photo: Todd Williamson/WireImage The upcoming season of “Glee” is set to pay tributes to the work of Madonna and Lady Gaga , but fans are also excited to see just how the relationships will change when the latest episode premieres Tuesday (April 13). Jane Lynch, who plays the tough-as-nails gym teacher Sue Sylvester on the hit show, assured us that Sue will be back to her old, mean tricks. “She terrorizes everybody, still. She gets inappropriate with a bunch of guys. There’s a lot of sexual blackmail,” she told MTV News at the premiere party. “She does a little singing with Olivia Newton John. She gets put in her place in a very interesting, cruel ways by Mr. Will Schuester himself. He gets kind of rough with her and he really hurts her feelings.” This season fans of the show will also get to learn a bit more about why Sue acts the way she does. “We learn more about Sue and, then again, she’s the same person who puts kids in a headlock,” she said. “Sue’s kind of exacting revenge now because I believe she was treated really poorly as a high school kid and now … she’s going to get her power back. And she’s going to terrorize everybody, even though she’s 30 years older than these kids … she perceives as being one of those kids. She’s gonna get ’em back!” Lynch also admitted that having a new generation of guys fawning all over her does feel kind of good. “Sixteen-year-old boys are like my demo now,” she said. “I was saying on ‘Oprah,’ not to drop names, those boys when I was a kid [didn’t pay attention to me] and now the 14-year-old girl in me [gets excited] … It’s great!” What are you looking forward to seeing on the new season of “Glee”? Buzz Break: Sand Dollars

Glee Auto-Tunes Jane Lynch

Were Sue Sylvester a real-life human being — and not just some cartoon-like television creation — she’d probably take to the Internet with her fury about what Glee has done to her singing voice. As you’ve no doubt heard over and over again, during the all-Madonna episode of Glee (airing April 20), Sue’s real life avatar, Jane Lynch, will don a cone-shaped bra and sing Madonna’s iconic single, “Vogue.” Critics have been going cross-eyed about how awesome the performance is on Twitter over the last couple of days, but there hadn’t been any clips online to corroborate their excitement. Until now…
