Hate It Or Love It: Lil Miss Slizzard Slutshine Rih Rih Covers Up For “Talk That Talk”… Is She Giving The Sliz Life A Rest?

Here is one of the first promo pics for Rihanna ‘s new album. You likey the modest look? It might be a sign of some bigger changes in Rihanna’s life. Her doctors told her she needs to give the party life a rest a little, and yesterday workaholic, party addict Rih Rih actually cancelled a second show yesterday, this time due to exhaustion. Rihanna has been forced to scrap another show in Sweden, following her visit to hospital with the flu on Monday. A spokesperson for tour promoter Live Nation has stated to the Associated Press that the Bajan Babe felt unwell before her concert in Stockholm on Wednesday night, and after consulting with a doctor, decided to cancel the show an hour before she was scheduled to take the stage. Live Nation’s Kristofer Akesson said Rihanna “is exhausted and doesn’t feel well,” but did not elaborate on what is wrong with her. Promoters have said they plan to reschedule the gigs, but have not said when they will take place. She was able to perform at the first of two scheduled shows in Stockholm on Tuesday night. No worries though…

The bad news is, there is no video presentation of footage from The Hobbit in the offing at Comic Con this week. I’m not sure that anyone really thought that such a thing was likely, but with Steven Spielberg showing up for Tintin, implying that his co-conspirator on that film, Peter Jackson, would be here as well, some thought there was an outside chance that Mr. Jackson would take the stage in Hall… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : /Film Discovery Date : 21/07/2011 06:56 Number of articles : 2

Daniel Radcliffe Prefers Dancing Over Being Naked Onstage

Actor admits it’s easier to sing and dance in ‘How to Succeed …’ than it was to disrobe in ‘Equus.’ By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Daniel Radcliffe Photo: Getty “I’m excited. Terrified, but excited,” Daniel Radcliffe told MTV News in the summer of 2007 as he prepared to take the stage — and doff his drawers — in a London-based production of “Equus.” Radcliffe eventually took the production to Broadway in 2008, but even a year later, the nude scene never got much easier. Even the prospect of singing and dancing on Broadway — talents the 21-year-old actor readily admits don’t come naturally to him — is a delight by comparison. That’s why, as Radcliffe walked the red carpet at the opening for his new musical, “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” he admitted that tapping his toes on Broadway is far less terrifying than ripping off his skivvies. “I’m still going to have to go with being naked onstage,” he laughed. “The dancing and singing thing, it is scary, particularly on Broadway, because it is the home of the musical. But once you’ve learned it, it can become really fun. I can’t say the same about being naked onstage. This is a much more fun show all around.” That’s not to say “How to Succeed” has been a cakewalk. Radcliffe and his fellow actors endured an exhaustive rehearsal schedule and nearly a month of previews before officially opening on Sunday. “We’ve had a long-ish preview period — I can’t say ‘long’ anymore because of ‘Spider-Man’ — but it feels great to be here and know the show is set now and we don’t have to rehearse during the day and we get to chill out,” he told us. “Honestly, coming in and doing a two-and-a-half-hour show every evening will seem like a holiday after the last couple months.” Related Videos MTV News Rough Cut: Daniel Radcliffe

Dirty South Teams Up With Axwell, Rudy For ‘Dreams’

Aussie says he hopes to have track ready for Miami Music Week. By Adam Stewart Dirty South Photo: MTV News It’s looking like another big year for Aussie Dirty South (born Dragan Roganovic) as he gears up for what’s certain to be a massive week in Miami. Coming off a huge 2010, highlighted by his club smash “Phazing,” Roganovic is now poised to unleash a Miami monster with good friend and Swedish House Mafia third Axwell . “He was actually just here with me in the studio a few minutes ago,” Roganovic told MTV News. “We’ve been working on our new track along with Rudy called ‘Dreams,’ a really solid big-room track that we’re trying have finished for Miami.” If it indeed makes the cut in time for Miami Music Week, the piano-laden progressive house bomb featuring Rudy’s vocals is poised to be one of Miami’s most-buzzed-about tracks. Having already been featured on several Dirty South and Axwell collaborations including their latest, “Open Your Heart,” and Axwell’s anthemic remix of TV Rock’s “In the Air,” Rudy brings high-flying and euphoric vocals into the mix. “Dreams” comes on the heels of another massive release, “Coming Home” featuring Skylar Grey, a remix commissioned by Diddy himself, which dropped on Beatport just last week and is grabbing massive support from the likes of Pete Tong and others. Dirty South will have a major presence at some of Miami’s biggest shows this week, including his own Star Phazing party Thursday at Mansion and the Surfcomber Closing Party with Axwell on Sunday. He’s also slated to take the stage at Swedish House Mafia’s “Miami Masquerade Motel: One Night Stand,” where he’ll play along with, among many others, his good friend Max Vangeli. Some fans expressed concern the two DJs were feuding, based on some recent tweets. “First gym session in a while, I’m in pain!” Vangeli tweeted. “You mean, you just got back from ‘Pilates For Young Women Class’?” Dirty South wrote back. “It’s funny with Max and I. Most people totally understand that it was just him and I going back and forth, totally joking around,” Roganovic explained with a laugh. “But some people took it seriously and thought were really going at it! But it’s all fun, and we’re good friends. We’re actually getting shirts made up for Miami with the two of us with boxing gloves on!” Related Artists Dirty South Axwell

Angelina Jolie And Johnny Depp Have ‘Incredible Chemistry,’ ‘Tourist’ Director Says

‘Johnny and Angie just got along so well,’ Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp in “The Tourist” Photo: Sony Pictures What does an up-and-coming director do after winning the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film? If you’re the talented Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, you do not go to Disneyland; you go out and secure the talents of megawatt actors Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie for your next feature. The already heavily-hyped film in question is “The Tourist,” loosely based on the French thriller “Anthony Zimmer.” When MTV News caught up with von Donnersmarck, we talked international intrigue, the challenges of shooting in Venice and why everyone falls in love with Johnny Depp (including his co-star Paul Bettany , who confessed his feelings to us last month). MTV : Given the story’s twists and turns, what can you reveal about the plot? Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck : I can see already that you were trying to wrangle some information out of Paul. [Incredibly enough, the busy director somehow found time to read our Bettany interview.] It’s a love story, that’s for sure. Imagine a woman who is just so elegant and sophisticated and educated and has lived in that world and now, through a whole set of circumstances, suddenly falls in love with a guy who is not any of those things, and it just somehow confuses her whole world because that was not meant to happen. She had it all worked out, she had this grand master plan, and neither he nor she had thought it possible that they would fall in love with each other. I have to keep the real details a secret otherwise you won’t have any fun seeing it. MTV : Is the film a remake of “Anthony Zimmer” or an interpretation? Von Donnersmarck : I’d say, in a way, the film is inspired by a whole set of films. There’s a lot of “Anthony Zimmer” in it, which is the French screenplay that they optioned the rights for, there’s a lot of “North by Northwest,” “To Catch a Thief,” “The Thomas Crown Affair,” the “Thin Man” series, “The Pink Panther” — there’s just a whole sweep of films that we used as inspiration and, certainly, there’s quite a few films that informed the film. MTV : How did you assemble such a spectacular cast? Von Donnersmarck : I think if you create a part in the screenplay and what you describe to actors where they can show some of their acting muscle, then great actors will be attracted to those parts and will be game for it. I think what people forget often when they talk about such great stars as Angelina and Johnny, they forget that what they are, really, are actors. They’re actors with a capital “A,” but they’re much more actors than they are stars, and I think that these parts were just right for them as actors. They can really show what they can do. Angelina is so charming and delicate and feminine and strong and everything at the same time that I think when I talked to her about that part and when we worked on the screenplay together, she saw that she could really be able to do something with that part, and the same for Johnny. He shows so much of his own complexity in this part. He’s so winning, so charming, so funny, like he is in real life. I think in many ways, this part is quite close to who he is in real life. He is the most funny and charming person you’ll have ever met. MTV : Well, we already know Paul fell in love with him … Von Donnersmarck : It’s impossible not to. Everybody does. Same with Angelina. She is so much fun. Also, Johnny and Angie just got along so well, that was something I could sense straight from the first meeting that we had, the three of us. Believe it or not, Angie and Johnny had never met. Through all the years that they’ve been king and queen of Hollywood, they had never actually physically met, so I was the first person to ever bring them together. So if nothing else, that was a really historical moment. They just got along so well from the first moment they met that I knew it was going to be a lot of fun making this film. I probably have hours worth of bloopers where they were just laughing because they had so much fun inventing stuff on the fly and letting their incredible creativity run free. MTV : How difficult was shooting in Venice? Von Donnersmarck : It was difficult, and that’s why most films they do all the interior stuff in studio and go to Venice for maybe three weeks to shoot all the exteriors. We really shot the entirety of the picture — except the scenes that take place in Paris — we shot them in Venice. There’s a chance that we would have captured more of Venice than has been captured before; that was certainly our aim. When Angie and I first talked about it, we said, “Let’s really make Venice a character. Let’s have it be about Johnny’s character, about her character, but also about Venice. Let’s really shoot it there.” Luckily, our producer was game for this, Graham King, so before we knew it, we were all in Venice and lived there for half a year, and in some of the most fantastic places along the Grand Canal, and I never set foot in a car or a truck for half a year. MTV : Going from “The Lives of Others” to this film, was there any added pressure in having such big-name actors attached? Von Donnersmarck : I always feel, at the end of the day, the director is one of those many people hiding behind the cameras. I think the spotlight always should be on the actors. The actors I had on “The Lives of Others” were, maybe not so known so much in America, but in Europe and in Germany they were very well-known. I don’t feel that it was that different in that aspect. It was very different genre-wise and just the feel of the film, but that was part of the fun for me. I feel it’s more fun to try out something completely different, and after you’ve done something more heavy, to do something light and breezy, it was almost a kind of self-therapy there. MTV : What do you think will resonate most with audiences? Von Donnersmarck : I think that they’ll love just seeing a world where somehow everything is beautiful, not so much in a way that seems unrealistic. All of the things we show in the film could happen like they do in the film and could look the way they do, but even if there’s a scene with 500 extras, every single extra will have been designed and sculpted by the most fantastic designers that Hollywood and Italy have to offer, so I hope people will feel transported into a world that is as beautiful as it could be, that’s what I was aiming for. Most of all, I just hope they will be transformed by — as I was on the set — by the incredible chemistry and the joy and love between our marvelous actors, between Angie and Johnny, and Paul and Timothy Dalton and Steven Berkhoff, all the incredible actors that we had. From the saucy Jessica Alba in “Little Fockers” to James Franco’s grueling journey in “127 Hours,” the MTV Movies team is delving into the hottest flicks of fall 2010. Check back daily for exclusive clips, photos and interviews with the films’ biggest stars. Lady Gaga To Perform At John Lennon Tribute Show

Perry Farrell, Iggy Pop, RZA also join Yoko Ono’s We Are Plastic Ono Band in Los Angeles next month. By Gil Kaufman Lady Gaga Photo: Stephen Lovekin/ Getty Images There’s no word yet if she’s going to take a seat at the signature white piano again, but Lady Gaga has signed on to perform at one of the John Lennon tribute concerts taking place in Los Angeles in October. According to Yoko Ono’s website , Gaga will join a star-studded list for a pair of We Are Plastic Ono Band shows at the Orpheum Theater on October 1 and 2 that will include performances by Lennon’s widow Ono, Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell, Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA, experimental solo artist Tune-Yards, punk icon Iggy Pop and Lennon’s youngest son, Sean. The shows will pay tribute to Lennon on what would have been the ex-Beatle’s 70th birthday. Gaga is slated to take the stage on the second night on a bill that also features married Sonic Youth duo Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore. Among the other acts listed on the poster promoting the show: Cornelius, actress Carrie Fisher, director/actor Vincent Gallo, Harper Simon, Mike Watt, Nels Cline, Yuka Honda and Haruomi Hosono. Though her name stands out on the bill, Gaga’s inclusion is not that unusual. She performed “Imagine,” Lennon’s signature song of hope, at last October’s Human Rights Campaign gathering in Washington, D.C., where she tweaked the song’s lyrics a bit to make references to the 1998 murder of gay college student Matthew Shepard. The shows are just one of the ways Ono is celebrating what would have been a milestone birthday for Lennon. EMI will reissue spiffed-up versions of Lennon’s solo albums on October 5, along with some previously unreleased home recordings.
