Bad Movies We Love: Teaching Mrs. Tingle

I’m afraid of Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark , but for silly reasons. It has something to do with the title, which sounds like either an eerie whisper at Neverland Ranch or a creepy Paul Anka hit, and the track record of Ms. Katie Holmes, who first tried to terrify us in 1999’s hyper-dorky Teaching Mrs. Tingle . You’d think Scream maestro Kevin Williamson would want to explore a darker teen fantasy than “getting back at a mean teacher,” but no — this movie is the horror equivalent of the Nickelodeon Takes Over Your School sweepstakes. Your history instructor is getting slimed! With her own blood! Sweet!

Rebecca Tarbotton Takes Over At Rainforest Action Network

Rainforest Action Network has a new Executive Director to help it take on some of the worst corporate polluters, Rebecca Tarbotton. RAN is a Bay Area-based advocacy group, started in 1985, that operates sort of like a pack of jackals–its campaigners jump on a target’s back and won’t get off until it submits. In the past few years RAN has taken on the big banks that are funding the coal industry, like JP Morgan and Chase, and it has worked to protect the world’s most vulnerable rainforests, like those in Indonesia that are home to endangered orangutans and tigers…. Justin Bieber Is Just A "Regular Kid"

We find it a little hard to believe but teen star Justin Bieber insists he’s just a “regular 16-year-old kid.” “I’m a grounded person. I don’t need security when I’m home as they know who I am. I live with my mom and tour with my dad.”

Justin Bieber Fans Plan What They’d Say To Him

At the teen’s My World 2.0 release party, fans share how they’d greet him in person. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber fans Photo: MTV News Nick Cannon was talking smack (and losing) to Justin Bieber at the mop-topped singer’s big bowling-themed album release party in New York City on Tuesday night. But Bieber’s fans had much kinder, gentler words ready for the moment that they might meet the 16-year-old pop star, whose new album My World 2.0 came out this week. “I’ll say, like, I love him and everything, and that I wish he could play at my birthday party,” Angelique told MTV News outside the Lucky Strike Lanes. ” ‘Cause he’s so cute and he sings really good.” Another fan, Brianna, added, “I would say that he’s an awesome singer and he’s a good artist.” And Nicole chimed in, “I would say, ‘I love you.’ ” Alyssa was more verbose about the dialogue she had planned if she came into contact with Bieber. “[I would say] ‘I love you so much, and I’m probably, like, one of your biggest fans — I know there’s a lot of other fans, but I love you so much,’ ” she shared. Ally considers Bieber’s music a gift, so in return she made him a present. “I made a bracelet for him, so hopefully I can give it to him,” she said. “I’m all on top of what he’s doing, every one of his shows. I try to support what he’s doing. If someone’s saying something bad about him on Facebook, I always try to support him.” While most fans had something they wanted to say to him, Christina had something she wanted to do. “I’m going for the kiss, though. I don’t care what he says, I’m going for the kiss,” she said. “If security tells me to get off, I don’t care. I’m going to kiss him.” Olivia, who had attended Bieber’s canceled Roosevelt Field Mall appearance last November, still knows what she would say to Bieber. “How much we love him and that we hope to see him again soon and we love when he comes to concerts in New York,” she said. “And that we also were at the mall too, the time he didn’t come, so we’re glad he’s back finally. … It was mad [that day]. It was crazy.” Anthony, one of the few guys in a sea of teenage girls, said that he was at the event for his sister, but he saw the appeal of Bieber. “I’m a proud fan too, by the way,” he said. “I’d be like, ‘Justin, you know, keep doing your thing. You’re doing good.’ ” What would you say to Justin Bieber if you met him? Let us know below. MTV News will be rolling out previews from “The Diary of Justin Bieber” all week — don’t miss the full show, airing on MTV, Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET! Related Videos Bieber Fever Takes Over Manhattan!
