You can breathe a sigh of relief, American Beliebers. Justin Bieber isn’t about to be thrown out of the country. Not long after Bieber was arrested for DUI in January, a petition to have the singer deported back to Canada amassed over 100,000 signatures, forcing The White House to actually review this document, according to law. The White House Ignores Justin Bieber Deportation Those at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue have finally done so, and no one there will be acting on what Drake Bell and company want any time soon. “Sorry to disappoint, but we won’t be commenting on this one,” reads a statement from the Obama administration, clearly commenting on the petition in some manner. It continued: “The We the People terms of participation state that, ‘to avoid the appearance of improper influence, the White House may decline to address certain procurement, law enforcement, adjudicatory, or similar matters properly within the jurisdiction of federal departments or agencies, federal courts, or state and local government in its response to a petition.” The petition originated on January 23 and was titled “Deport Justin Bieber and revoke his green card.” It garnered more than 273,000 signatures and actually prompted an official statement regarding immigration reform. “Independent economists say immigration reform will grow our economy and shrink our deficits by almost $1 trillion in the next 20 years,” reads the response. “For those of you counting at home, that’s 12.5 billion concert tickets – or 100 billion copies of Mr. Bieber’s debut album.” Since pleading not guilty to all charges (driving under the influence, resisting arrest and driving without a valid driver’s license), Bieber is awaiting a trial that is now scheduled to begin on Monday, May 5.
