Taylor Swift Successfully Rails Against Apple Music

Never underestimate the power and influence of Taylor Swift. Seriously. Swift made headlines late last week when she wrote a long, very critical letter on Tumblr, explaining why she would not make her album available on Apple Music. Simply put, she said it was “shocking” and disappointing” that the company would not be compensating musicians, songwriters and producers for their music during its 90-day fee trial period. Thinking of new groups or solo artists who would not see a dime for a quarter of the year, despite their hard work, Taylor railed: “This incredible company has the money to pay artists, writers and producers for the 3 month trial period… even if it is free for the fans trying it out. “Three months is a long time to go unpaid, and it is unfair to ask anyone to work for nothing… Please don’t ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation.” Incredibly, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services replied to Swift’s criticism on Sunday night and CHANGED THE POLICY. “Apple will always make sure that artist[s] are paid #iTunes #AppleMusic,” Tweeted Eddy Cue. He later added as assurance to artists: “#AppleMusic will pay artist[s] for streaming, even during customer’s free trial period. We hear you @taylorswift13 and indie artists. Love, Apple.” Forget how Swift helps couple’s announce a pregnancy or snuggles with her cat , this is why everyone truly loves her. High School Seniors "Shake It Off" at Graduation: Watch!

As documented on many occasions, the Internet often likes to Shake It Off , as countless users have performed their own versions of Taylor Swift's smash hit song. But this video features a new twist on the trend. It features Portsmouth High School valedictorian Colin Yost challenging his classmates to “embrace your inner nerdiness” before “Shake It Off” blasts on the loud speakers and all 230 graduating seniors break into a flash mob. Said Yost to MTV: “I’ve always wanted to do a flash mob and I thought graduation would be the perfect place because our class is very cohesive and doesn’t really have a lot of cliques. “As we practiced, the energy was just building and everyone was feeling how great it was to work together and send this positive message.” We cannot wait to see how Taylor responds once she sees this video.
