The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Reunion Recap, Part II: Let the Brandi Glanville Bashing Begin!

After last week’s Part I , The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Reunion show continued with more drama last night as Brandi and Taylor join us for the full hour. Let’s recap it all with THG’s +/- review! Last week they took shots at Lisa but now it’s time for Brandi Glanville bashing. We like Brandi. Yes, she’s brash but she’s also fun, entertaining, and says what she thinks to someone’s face instead of behind their back. There’s a concept. No wonder she doesn’t quite fit in with the Beverly Hills crowd. Plus 20 . Brandi hit the scene this season with high heels, no bra, and even on crutches she had legs that wouldn’t quit. So being younger and prettier meant that she immediately made enemies and it was wonderful entertainment. Plus 10 . So Andy takes us back to Game Night where Kim and Kyle’s mean sides came out and Brandi called Kyle a bitch and threatened to kill Kim. Ah, good times. At least Kyle’s owning her mean girl title that night so Plus 8 . Even Lisa admits she was mortified when she saw the actual footage. She backed Kyle but hadn’t known how she acted.

Lindsay Lohan In Talks To Play Elizabeth Taylor In TV Movie

‘Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story’ will follow Taylor’s epic romance with fellow superstar Richard Burton. By Kara Warner Lindsay Lohan and Elizabeth Taylor Photo: Getty Images Nine days into the new year, and we already have our first surprising Lindsay Lohan story. The recent Playboy cover girl ‘s next role might be that of Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor in a made-for-TV-movie for Lifetime. According to Deadline , Lohan is in very early talks to play the lead role in Lifetime’s original movie “Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story.” The TV movie, which was announced at the network’s upfront presentation to advertisers in May 2011, will be a biopic and will reportedly revolve around the epic romance between movie icons Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, whose tempestuous relationship was the most infamous celebrity love affair of its day. In a nutshell, Taylor and Burton were the original “Brangelina.” Lohan’s potential involvement would definitely elevate interest in the project, no matter the production or air date. The problem-plagued 25-year-old could use something positive in her professional career, since the last time we heard from Lohan was via her Playboy interview and court hearings that led to 30 days in jail for violating probation, not attending court-mandated therapy sessions and getting tossed from a community-service gig. Lohan seems to have a thing for misunderstood, old-school Hollywood icons, given the Marilyn Monroe theme in her Playboy spread and her onetime involvement in a Linda Lovelace biopic. Furthermore, Lohan and Taylor have a few interesting things in common, according to a 2010 article from Slate . “Both had domineering stage mothers, little semblance of a real childhood, fame from a young age, substance abuse issues, public emotional outpourings, and copious amounts of tabloid drama,” wrote Slate senior editor Jessica Grose. “The key difference, though, is that Elizabeth Taylor had a true record of achievement before she became the most notorious movie star in America. She had made almost 30 movies by the time she and Burton were making headlines.” There has been no official comment from Lohan or Lifetime yet. Related Photos Elizabeth Taylor: A Life In Photos

Here’s My Beef With Taylor Swift’s Hunger Games Song

The problem with Taylor Swift ’s Hunger Games single “Safe & Sound” is – sorry, Swifties – Taylor Swift. Taken on its own it’s a perfectly lovely slice of discordant Americana pop that wisps beautifully with Swift’s reedy warbling as she sings about protecting loved ones as a war rages outside. But as a Hunger Games song… as what promises to be the Hunger Games song associated with the movie (besides Rue’s iconic ditty within the film), it leaves something to be desired precisely because Swift is singing in the spirit and voice of Katniss Everdeen . And you, my adorable little Taylor, are no Katniss Everdeen. Here’s the thing: I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with the oeuvre of Taylor Swift. Do I sing along every time “Love Story” comes on the radio? Fine, yes. Will I ever forget the ear-bleedingly bad live performance she gave at the 2010 Grammys, as horrified duet partner Stevie Nicks gamely powered through? Never. It haunts my waking dreams. And yet Swift is just too bubbly and cute to loathe, dammit. Remember her in Valentine’s Day , all track shorts and legs and smiles? She’s like a crinkle-haired bubblegum-singing bunny rabbit. There is no hating her. So it’s not that I hate Swift as I listen to the twangy strains of “Safe & Sound,” as backed by the band The Civil Wars. But as the first song released from the Hunger Games soundtrack it’s the film’s leading pop single, the one that will be associated with the beloved book’s adaptation from the get go in mainstream media. And it’s kind of disappointing that Swift’s voice is so overpoweringly front and center whilst crooning about life from Katniss’s perspective. Consider another recent pop single from a beloved YA film franchise: Bruno Mars’s Breaking Dawn ditty. Now that’s a catchy, hook-filled number that dances the line between Mars’s signature sound (okay, so it sounds exactly like a Bruno Mars song) while being vaguely related to the themes of the film. Something about if you go away it will rain and your father not approving of your “troublesome” boyfriend. Sure. Why not? Bruno Mars isn’t singing as if he’s Bella Swan. We are not meant to identify him with our heroine, hence Mars seems as if he was simply influenced to write a love song after Netflixing Twilight or something. In Swift’s case, she’s singing as if she is Katniss. And therein lies the problem. Give this song to a singer with a less confrontational voice (Gillian Welch, if she was 17?) and it’d be instantly more palatable. The showy breathiness of Swift’s voice never lets you forget that it’s Taylor Swift singing. I imagine this playing over the end credits of The Hunger Games , a seemingly contemplative coda to the senseless carnage Katniss lives through in the series’ first installment, and Swift’s voice needling its way into my head from the first verse, breaking through my Hunger Games afterglow. TAYLOR SWIFT TAYLOR SWIFT TAYLOR SWIFT is all I fear I’ll be able to think as I exit the theater come March. Worse: The idea of Taylor Swift channeling Katniss Everdeen – singing her life with her words! Killing me softly, and not in a good way! — is an unfathomable vision that does not compute. Put Swift in the Cornucopia and she’d be the first to go down, no question. I’d almost rather Jennifer Lawrence sung the theme song herself. I know it makes total sense for Lionsgate given the tween/teen/YA demographic of The Hunger Games movies, which aim to fill the Twilight gap, and the universal truth that all 13-year-olds love and worship Taylor Swift. But not all of us Hunger Games fans are members of the Taylor Swift fan club. Can we at least graduate to less wimpy pop stars (How about Demi Lovato ? She’s been to rehab !) for the Catching Fire soundtrack? Follow Jen Yamato on Twitter . Follow Movieline on Twitter .

Wiz Khalifa, Juicy J Deal Is ‘Official’

‘He’s gonna be here forever and I’m gonna be here forever,’ Wiz tells MTV News of Juicy J signing. By Rob Markman Wiz Khalifa Photo: MTV News Wiz Khalifa has always been a fan of Three 6 Mafia, and what’s not to love? With a rowdy rap catalog that includes the hits “Tear da Club Up,” “Sippin’ on Some Syrup” and “Stay Fly,” Three 6 has grown to become one of hip-hop’s most iconic groups. And the Pittsburgh hitmaker will be working with the Mafia’s Juicy J closely now that he has signed him to his Taylor Gang label. “Yeah that’s official, that’s good to go,” Khalifa confirmed with MTV News on Wednesday night before he took the stage with Snoop Dogg at Terminal 5 in New York. Juice, who just released his latest mixtape, Blue Dream & Lean, on November 29, revealed the signing during an interview with Hood Rich Radio. “Juicy J is now with Taylor Gang, we goin’ in this year, man. 2012, we goin’ in,” he said. Longtime Taylor Gang artist Chevy Woods is looking forward to adding the rapper/producer to the crew. “It’s fun for me, because I really just sit back and watch,” he told MTV News. “[Wiz is] always doin’ somethin’ different.” For Wiz, this is an opportunity to link up with an artist that he has looked up to for a long time. “Well, I’ve always been a huge fan of Juicy J and Three 6 Mafia and what they brought to the game,” he said. “As far as their music, as far as their consistency, as far as just if you’re in that mood and you know what you wanna hear, they brought it and I respected that. And they brought it for years, since I was young.” “I remember when ‘Tear da Club Up’ first came out and I remember when ‘Stay Fly’ came out, and those are two huge songs from the same group of people who never fell off or lost it at all. And I really look up to that and respect that.” Turns out, according to Khalifa, Juice was a fan of Wiz as well. “It was like, ‘Man we might as well bridge the gap and takeover,’ because he’s gonna be here forever and I’m gonna be here forever.” What do you think of Juicy J joining Taylor Gang? Tells us in the comments! Related Artists Wiz Khalifa Juicy J
