But it was two points from the superstar from earlier in the game that really stand out. Following a Miami steal, Norris Cole lobbed a seemingly uncatchable pass to his teammate from under the Boston basket. LeBron James enjoyed a ho-hum 2012, winning his first NBA title… his third MVP award… AND an Olympic Gold Medal. No, it’s safe to say the editors of the world’s most famous sports magazine didn’t exactly have a tough time coming up with the 2012 Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year. “He was the most dominant athlete this year,” Paul Fichtenbaum, Editor of Time Inc.’s Sports Group, said of LeBron. “The intangibles [James] brought to the court were significant in leading his teams to victory. He was a selfless player, doing whatever it took to will the Heat and Team USA, making all of his teammates better.” James is the first NBA star to land SI ‘s top honor since his teammate, Dwayne Wade, did so in 2006. In a new spot for the MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye and Kim Kardashian are actually seen interacting for the first time (for marketing purposes, of course), as they appear opposite comedian/event host Kevin Hart. The subject of the commercial? Threesomes and couple nicknames, of course. Topics very close to Kim’s heart. The London Olympics are almost over, but will we see swimming studs Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps square off on Dancing With the Stars next? A newly-retired Phelps said earlier in the week that he wouldn’t rule out following in the footsteps of Olympians who have gone on the ABC show. He’d probably do well, but if it’s up to his teammate and friendly rival Lochte, he’d best prepare himself for some stiff competition on the parquet. “Since I’m so used to competing against Michael Phelps, I’d go on [Dancing with the Stars] with him,” said Lochte, who won five medals in 2012. ” I could do Dancing with the Stars ! Yeah, I think so.” No doubt Ryan Lochte’s sister and mom in the audience cheering him on alongside Michael Phelps’ mom in what would be a rematch for the ages. Or at least reality TV. Michael Phelps Defeats Ryan Lochte In 200-Meter To Win Gold Medal Michael Phelps has made more history, winning gold in the men’s 200-meter individual medley in 1:54:27. Having already established himself as the most decorated Olympian of all time, Phelps is now the first male swimmer to win three consecutive gold medals in the same event. Teammates on the U.S. swim team, Ryan Lochte and Phelps entered the race as the top two seeds after finishing 1-2 in the semifinal. They finished 1-2 in the final but the order was reversed. Lochte finished second to win silver while Lazlo Cseh of Hungary touched the wall third. One of the most hyped head-to-head rivalries before the Olympics began, the “Phelpte” drama produced a 1-1 draw. Lochte struck first, with a dominant win over his teammate in the 400-meter individual medley. Between that event and Phelps’ win in the 200-meter IM, the pair had been relay partners rather than competitors. Here’s a look at this year’s very competitive category: Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, “Crazy, Stupid, Love” Much ado has been made over the all-around swoonworthy-ness of Ryan Gosling and the all-around likeability of Emma Stone. Putting them together in a romantic comedy where their first kiss involves an assertive, rain-soaked Emma Stone getting exactly what she wants made for one of the year’s steamiest onscreen kisses. Not to mention Gosling’s adept assist in the scene: He is a Best Kiss winner after all ( for “The Notebook” ) and responsible for one of the best acceptance “speeches” in MTV Movie Awards history. Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” Oh, young love. So angsty and confusing and frustrating and, in the case of “Harry Potter” characters Hermione (Watson) and Ron (Grint), too many years in the making. Though the big moment in the movie was different from how things went down in J.K. Rowling’s beloved novels, you can still hear the collective sighs and squeals over their very long-awaited first lip-lock in the blockbuster franchise’s eighth and final film, “Deathly Hallows, Part 2.” Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, “The Hunger Games” Known affectionately to “Hunger Games” fans as the “cave scene,” Katniss (Lawrence) and Peeta (Hutcherson) find themselves between a literal rock and a hard place when Katniss must venture out to fetch her teammate and would-be love the medicine that will save his life. Katniss’ winning argument for risking her life is sealed with a kiss. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” “Twilight” fans will never tire of seeing kisses shared between their favorite onscreen couple, Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. And luckily for the fans, the three-time winners know how to get the job done, as demonstrated by their passionate, lengthy and very public display of affection after being announced as man and wife in “Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum, “The Vow” What’s more romantic than a devoted and doting husband? One who is charged with the very difficult task of making his wife fall in love with him all over again after she sustains severe memory loss from a traumatic accident. Gabriel Aubry could be in major trouble with the law. The Canadian model, who shares custody of three-year old Nahla with Halle Berry, is under investigation for allegedly screaming at his nanny last week and shoving her out a door… while the woman cradled the child in her arms. According to a police report published by TMZ, Aubry kept Nahla home from school last Wednesday, unbeknownst to the nanny. When she arrived at Gabriel’s house and asked why the tyke was not in class, Berry’s ex supposedly went off on her: “You’re the f*cking nanny. Who do you think you are? You are a nobody. You don’t need to f*cking know anything.” He then pushed her out the door. The nanny filed a complaint and authorities are investigating Aubry for misdemeanor child endangerment and misdemeanor battery. Child services is also looking into the incident. Aubry and Berry have been battling over their daughter for months. The latter alleged neglect against the former last summer. [Photo: WENN.com]
