Nicollette Sheridan of Desperate Housewives Seeks $20M Lawsuit Against Show Producer Marc Cherry

British actress Nicollette Sheridan, Edie Britt of ABC’s “Desperate Housewives,” filed lawsuit against Marc Cherry, creator-producer of the said show for the alleged assault and wrongful termination. In the Superior Court in Los Angeles, lawsuit filed last Monday.  Sheridan claims that the show’s producer hit her in the face in the Wisteria Lane set in September 2008. Based on the case filed, Sheridan asked Cherry about a line in the script, and he “took her aside and forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head,” the suit said. After she stormed off to her trailer, he came to “beg forgiveness.” Sheridan’s allegations said that Cherry retaliated by killing off her character in the popular series after she reported the incident to the management of ABC. The lawsuit filed seeks $20 million in sustained damages. This also includes ABC, accuses Cherry of creating a hostile work environment on the set and behaving aggressively and abusively toward the cast and the writers. ABC Studios said in a statement Tuesday, “While we have yet to see the actual complaint, we investigated similar claims made by Ms. Sheridan last year and found them to be without merit.” A call to Cherry’s company, Cherry Alley Productions, wasn’t immediately returned Monday night. When Teri Hatcher, who plays Susan Meyer on the show, spoke to ABC executives about Cherry’s behavior, Cherry told Sheridan, “I hope Teri Hatcher gets hit by a car and dies.” Sheridan argued that her character was one of the lead characters of the show, and was getting more airtime that season. Edie Britt is not featured in the show’s opening credits. “It is exceptionally unusual for a popular character to be killed off or written out of a television series unless the actor has requested to be released from his or her contract,” is how Sheridan’s lawyer sees it. Dancing With the Stars: Evan and Anna Leading the Quickstep

Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya began the night with a high energy quickstep. Evan has broken two of his toes but still the Olympic skater was able to deliver a great performance. They earned 25 points. Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough finished the evening with a lively quickstep. Unfortunately, the duo has broken two rules. They had incorporated lifting and rope hold in their dance. They earned 23 points. Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy hit the dance floor with a dramatic waltz, while Andrews put on a blindfold for the majority of the performance. They earned 23 points. Jake Pavelka and Chelsie Hightower show-off a lively quickstep to “Walk Like an Egyptian”. They earned 21 points. Niecey Nash and Louis Van Amstel brought the most touching performance of the evening. Their dance delivers the story of a couple in love in the 60’s who cannot be together because society wouldn’t accept it. They gained a standing ovation and earned 21 points. Pam Anderson and Damien Whitewood have proven themselves again with their paso doble. They earned 21 points. Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke also brought the cheer back with their paso doble. Their dance tells the story of a matador who’s trying to seduce a woman, who doesn’t have any interest on him. They earned 20 points. Aiden Turner and Edyta Sliwinska earned 20 points in their quickstep. Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani danced a paso doble routine in Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi”. T-Mobile USA is offering Apple’s smartphone subscribers and users from AT&T by offering $100 when they buy an HD2 and trade in their iPhone. The HTC HD2 sells for $200 with a two-year contract or $450 without a contract. The prices are reduced to $100 or $350 by trading in an iPhone. The offer is good from now until May 19. All iPhone models are apparently covered, but the device has to be functional. Customers are not required to buy service to qualify. Here is a brief head to head comparison fo the HTC HD2 vs the iPhone if you consumers are thinking of buying into T-Mobile USA’s limited offer. HTC HD2 vs. Apple iPhone 3GS -Both the smartphones have web browsers, email software, and audio and video players. Windows Mobile on the HTC HD2 is bundled with a smartphone version of Microsoft Office, allowing users to work with Word, Excel and PowerPoint files while on the go. -While there are thousands of third-party Windows Mobile apps available, the collection is dwarfed by the 150,000+ iPhone apps. -Both the device have tablet shapes, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS receivers and 3.5 mm headset jacks. -HTC HD2 has 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen. The iPhone 3GS has a 3.5-inch, HVGA touchscreen. 300,000 Apple iPads Sold in the US on First Day Release

Apple’s new product the iPad got fare results on the number of units sold upon its first day release recently. 300,000 Apple iPads were sold on the first day release. Analysts on the other hand, expected Apple to sell more than 300,000 iPad units on the first day as  forecasts expected first-day iPad sales of 400,000 to 500,000 units. Estimates for global iPad sales this year ranged from 2.5 million by financial-services firm Kaufman Bros. to as high as 7.1 million by research firm iSuppli Corp. The Apple iPad costs $499 on Apple Stores around the world. The only thing that consumers have been complaining so far about iPad units is the Wifi connection. So far sales of the Apple iPad are projected to increase as weeks go by. Last Monday Apple had announced something really exciting. It’s going to have a special sneak peak event on Thursday with regards to the upcoming next-generation iPhone operating system that will run also on the iPod Touch and iPad. The new operating system is expected to be integrated with the iPad interface.
