Hannah Anderson: Kidnapper Played Russian Roulette With Me!

Hannah Anderson, 16, claims a family friend handcuffed her, bound her feet with a zip tie and tried to force her to play Russian roulette with his pistol. The Southern California teen described new details of the frightening encounter with James Lee DiMaggio in a Today show interview on Thursday. Hannah Anderson on Today Her sit-down comes as an author prepares to release a scathing new book that questions the teen’s story in the case that captivated the U.S. this year. According to Hannah Anderson , DiMaggio used zip ties to bind her feet and then told her that he was going to take her to Idaho to help him settle there. At that point he would release her, the San Diego-area teen claims he stated. Hannah was ultimately saved by FBI agents and returned to California. “He told me that he was going to kidnap me and take me to Idaho, where my intention was just to carry his backpacks to the river,” she said on Today . “And that he was gonna live there. And then he’d get me home afterwards.” DiMaggio said her mother, Christina, and 8-year-old brother, Ethan, were alive. He then forced her to play Russian roulette on his couch, Anderson said. “And when it was my turn, I just started crying and, like, was freaking out. And he said, ‘Do you want to play?’ And I said, ‘No.’ And I started crying.” “And then he’s, like, ‘OK.’ And he stopped.” DiMaggio was killed by FBI agents in the Idaho wilderness August 10, a week after he allegedly abducted the 16-year-old and killed Christina and Ethan. The remains of Anderson’s 44-year-old mother and brother were later found in the burned home. Hannah said she is “just mostly sick and angry.” The teen’s disappearance triggered a massive search and rescue effort spanning much of the western U.S. and parts of Canada and Mexico. The Amber Alert helped, in more ways than one, as it has “helped me keep going through healing and stuff, knowing that people were looking for me.” Since her rescue, Anderson has avoided most interviews, preferring instead to respond to fans and confront skeptics directly on social media sites. Critics see something fishy in a flurry of texts between Hannah and DiMaggio before the abduction as well as a letter from the teen in DiMaggio’s house. Author Chelsea Hoffman said she grew suspicious as she observed Hannah’s behavior following her return, prompting her to write “The River of No Return.” The book is set for a November 2 release. Authorities say Hannah was undoubtedly a victim. She has harsh words for critics, including one who asked why she hadn’t run away from DiMaggio, 40. “How do you know he never had me handcuffed,” Anderson wrote. “Because there you are wrong. Don’t assume things you don’t know. Just stop.”

Teen Birth Rate Declines to Record Low in U.S.

Perhaps Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2 are becoming obsolete? The birth rate among teenagers hit a record low in 2012, government research shows. Teen Birth Rate Keeps Falling There is evidence that a trend of more effective means of birth control is a factor, according to the National Center for Health Statistics at the CDC. Watching Farrah Abraham and Jenelle Evans can’t hurt, either. The birth rate among young women ages 15 to 19 fell 6 percent last year, to 29.4 births per thousand, the lowest rate in the 73 years of data collection. The decline was across all racial and ethnic groups. The 2012 number was a significant drop and follows fairly sizable declines since 2007 , when the rate was 41.5 births per thousand young women ages 15 to 19. In fact, except for a small uptick between 2005 and 2007, the teen birth rate has been steadily declining since 1991, when it reached 61.8 births per thousand. The data used comes from the birth certificate that parents must complete at the hospital and it provides a wealth of information regarding demographics. But to figure out why exactly the teen birth rate is falling, researchers have to rely on extensive surveys, and the results are much harder to pin down. There is not much evidence of a change in abortion use and not much change in sexual activity, according to analysts, meaning birth control may be up. Or better, or better used. While condom use increased substantially in the 1990s and early 2000s among high schoolers, it actually declined slightly after that, according to the CDC. At the same time, medical professionals have increasingly been recommending the IUD, a small, plastic device that is inserted and left inside the uterus. While it does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases, the IUD can be used in combination with a condom, which does offer such protection. Beyond teens, the birth rate for American women in their early twenties also declined in 2012, to a new record low of 83.1 births per 1,000 women. Birth rates rose for women in their late thirties and early forties.

Hannah Anderson Rescued, James DiMaggio Killed in Idaho as Abduction Manhunt Ends

James DiMaggio, the California murder suspect who allegedly kidnapped 16-year-old Hannah Anderson, was shot and killed by the FBI in the Idaho wilderness. Anderson was rescued alive nearby. Hannah Anderson Rescued, James DiMaggio Killed She appeared to be uninjured and will be reunited soon with her father at a hospital, where health care providers and crisis counselors were assisting her. “We will make sure she gets as much care as possible, physically and emotionally,” said Andrea Dearden, a spokeswoman from the Ada County Sheriff’s Dept. The shooting came after officers spotted James DiMaggio’s campsite from the air and an FBI hostage recovery team trekked to the site deep in the woods. “No one really knows where an investigation like this will lead,” said Mary Rook of the FBI’s Salt Lake City division. “In this case, our team faced a very challenging situation.” It marked the end of a days-long, multi-state manhunt. The bodies of Hannah Anderson’s mother, Christina, 44, and the teen’s 8-year-old brother, Ethan, were found in DiMaggio’s burning house outside San Diego. DiMaggio was close to the family. Christina Anderson’s husband, Brett, has described him as a best friend and said the children thought of him as an uncle. Authorities have said DiMaggio had an “unusual infatuation” with Hannah Anderson, although the father said he never saw any strange behavior. An Amber Alert was issued when he abducted her, and tips led investigators to Oregon after DiMaggio and the teen were reportedly spotted there. But it wasn’t until an Idaho horseback rider called in a tip that investigators found a major lead – DiMaggio’s car, hidden under brush at a trailhead. About 270 law enforcement officers from the FBI, local Idaho sheriffs’ offices, Idaho State Police, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Border Patrol swarmed the roadless area. San Diego County Sheriff William D. Gore announced Hannah Anderson’s rescue and DiMaggio’s death from a news conference in California Saturday.

Florida Crazies: 17-Year-Old Girl Attacked And Robbed Outside ATM By Her Mother’s Friend Who Says Incident Was A “Joke”

People just don’t give a phuck. Woman Robs And Attacks Girl According to Mail Online A 17-year-old girl from Central Florida has been attacked after withdrawing money from a bank ATM, only to realize that her assailant was a friend’s mother. Blair McCarron, of Deltona, called Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies Saturday night to report the attempted robbery. According to the Daytona Beach News-Journal, the teen was returning to her car after stopping by a Bank of America ATM when 45-year-old Tammy Perras grabbed her from behind and smashed her face into the steering wheel. As the attack continued, the teen recognized the suspected mugger was a classmate’s mom and called her out. Deputies say the attack stopped and the girl gave Perras $5 to get rid of her. Perras was picked up by police a short time later and booked into the Volusia County Jail on aggravated child abuse, burglary with assault and robbery charges. The incident took place outside the Bank of America on East Normandy Boulevard at around 11.30pm Saturday when McCarron, called police to report a robbery. On the 911 call released by police, the victim described the assault, saying: ‘She grabbed me by the back of my head and hits my head on the steering wheel, and she tries to, like, jump in the car with me.’ McCarron told police that as Perras struck her, she threatened to kill the girl and steal all her belongings. At that moment, however, the teen turned around. ‘I kicked her off me, and I realized it my friend’s mom,’ the 17-year-old told the 911 dispatcher. Perras stopped hitting the girl and left after McCarron handed her a $5 bill, deputies said. The 45-year-old mother then allegedly tried to convince McCarron not to press charges against her, insisting that the entire incident was a ‘joke.’ According to the 17-year-old, her classmate’s mother told her that her daughter was unemployed and she needed money to buy diapers for her grandchild, the station Local 6 reported. ‘I’m a mom and I’m working two jobs, seven days a week to support my kid and you’re not going to come try to take something that I am working for,’ said McCarron. Perras then took off from the scene, but was tracked down by deputies to a convenience store on Providence Boulevard, where she was taken into custody. Damn. When you have friends like that, who needs enemies. We know times are hard, but plenty off moms work two jobs and don’t go around robbing people. It just shows you the things people are willing to do to survive. It won’t be a “joke” when she becomes somebody’s beyotch in jail. Continue reading
