Madame Tussauds figures will debut in March. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: Gilbert Carrasquillo/ Getty Images This March, Justin Bieber’s wax likeness will be hitting three Madame Tussaud’s wax museums. Outposts in London, New York and Amsterdam will all house statues of the teen pop sensation. And, since Bieber decided to have his trademark locks lopped off last weekend, fans may be wondering what kind of hairstyle the statues will feature. Well, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the likenesses will in fact sport Bieber’s signature swoop. “We have been absolutely inundated with requests from young fans from around the world to see him,” Liz Edwards, head of PR at Madame Tussauds, explained. “We’re sure his fans will be just as delighted as we are that Justin will be joining the A-list.” THR further reported that Bieber will be the headlining act at the museum’s music zone, an interactive area that also features stars like Lady Gaga and Justin Timberlake. It’s reported that Bieber sat for his statue late last year. “We’re capturing a moment in time,” Bret Pidgeon, general manager of Madame Tussauds New York, told E! News about the statue. “Capturing what he looks like right now.” Pidgeon also hinted about the hair that would appear on the statue. “We’re going to wait to see how the new haircut takes with the fans … It’ll be part of the excitement for the final launch day,” he added, noting that Bieber will be on hand at one of the unveilings. Reps for the museum never responded to MTV News’ request for further information by press time. “I’m honored to be getting my own wax figures,” Bieber said in a press statement . “To be immortalized in wax alongside some of my idols — Michael Jackson, Prince, Beyonce and my mentor, Usher — is incredibly exciting and very cool.” A long line of other music stars also have had their likenesses cast in wax for display at Madame Tussauds locations. In the past few years, teen idols like the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and even Lady Gaga have all received the honor from the famed institution. Justin Bieber’s Jason McCann Dies On ‘CSI’ By James Dinh Justin Bieber appears on “CSI” Photo: CBS If Beliebers thought Justin Bieber’s debut episode of “CSI” was action-packed, then they were in for a shock as the teen singer made his second appearance on the show on Thursday night (February 17). As the episode titled “A Target of Obsession” opened, accused serial killer Nate Haskell (Bill Irwin) was testifying in court in a case involving the attempted murder of Dr. Raymond Langston (Laurence Fishburne). Meanwhile, troubled teen Jason McCann (Justin Bieber) calls Nick Stokes (George Eads) and warns the investigator not to go home. But Stokes begins walking into his house anyway, only to be startled by a booby trap planted in the front yard. With the help of the bomb squad, Stokes carefully removes himself from the ambush and appears grateful for McCann’s warning. The rest of the squad, however, isn’t convinced of McCann’s good intentions; they order him to appear at the station. Switching back to the trial, Haskell, serving as his own defense attorney, interrogates Ray about the serial killer accused of attempting to murder the CSI investigator. Although Stokes tries to interrogate McCann about the attempted house bombing, the teen remains tight-lipped about who the perpetrator is, and he’s eventually picked up by his legal guardian. Soon after, the CSIs pay a visit to McCann’s guardian, only to find him dead inside his work warehouse. Unfortunately, beneath his dead body is a device that traps Stokes and his team inside the building as a bomb surrounded by lasers ticks away. Back at court, Haskell calls another participant to the stand: a doctor, who once treated the serial killer. Dr. Cory later reveals that the attempted murderer was abused as a child and has a genetic defect, implying that Haskell shouldn’t be held responsible for his actions. With the bomb still ticking, the CSI crew attempt to deactivate the lasers. But one of CSIs is shot when he sets foot on a floorboard. Coincidentally enough, Depp had just answered a question as to whether or not he was a “Belieber,” since he’d taken his kids to a concert by the teen pop phenom back in December. “Hey, pal!” a surprised Depp exclaimed as Bieber waved “hello” by flashing a peace sign from the back of the room. The young singer then approached the cast to shake hands — and received a round of applause from the audience while doing so. “We just established that I’m a Belieber,” Depp said. “I’m a big fan of you, so I had to come support you,” Bieber replied. “I just wanted to say ‘hi.’ I heard you were in the building.” Talk about worlds colliding! Cut to a year later, and Bieber has really stepped up his rap game, between his verse on Sean Kingston’s “Won’t Stop” and his Shawty Mane MC alter ego . When we caught up with the star on the bowling-alley video set for “Baby” last year, Bieber still seemed kind of green to the whole process but remained completely poised throughout the shoot. He opened up about his MC pals, sharing how he got Ludacris to join him on the song, which turned out to be his breakout hit. “Well, [Ludacris and I] both live in Atlanta,” Bieber said. “I met him a year prior to this, and we figured it was a perfect collaboration for him, so we invited him out to do it.” When asked if Luda offered him any advice, Bieber said, “No. I mean, he’s a rapper; he doesn’t sing.” And he seemed adamantly opposed when we asked if he had any rapping plans: “No. Not at all. Nope.” These days, Bieber’s MC rolodex has expanded even more, but back then, he was still flexing his swagga muscle by getting fellow Canadian Drake onboard to make a cameo in the video. “He’s just one of my good buddies. He’s here to hang out,” Bieber said, noting that he couldn’t confirm who else might appear on his not-yet-released My World 2.0. “You’ll have to see when it comes out in March.” On Friday, Justin Bieber’s 3-D documentary, “Never Say Never,” opens. The film takes a look at how the teen star worked to hit it big. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway Justin Bieber Photo: Brian Phares/MTV News Justin Bieber will have his loyal fans and even his harshest critics saying “Never Say Never” when his 3-D flick opens on Friday. The movie offers an inside look at Bieber’s rise to stardom and the hard work and determination the teen star put in before hitting it big. For those who may not realize that Bieber is more than just a record label puppet created to pander to throngs of teenage girls, the film also shows that the 16-year-old is a skilled musician. “People didn’t really know,” he explained to MTV News. “They didn’t understand that I’ve been playing music ever since I was born and it’s always been in me. And this movie is really going to show that I’m not just some packaged thing that some A&R put together. It was actually just me living my dream and just making music.” He later joked that he also wasn’t molded in manager Scooter Braun’s basement. “Yeah, [he] just cut my hair like this [and made me what I am]!” At the New York screening for the film last week, Bieber spoke to us about what he hopes his fans will take away from the film. It is part concert film, part documentary, complete with interviews from some of the people closest to the teen phenom. It also features cameos by Miley Cyrus, Usher and Ludacris, to name a few, during concert performances filmed at Madison Square Garden last September, and interviews. In the film, Bieber is seen skillfully playing piano, drums and guitar. “Fans will be really excited to see that I’m just a regular 16-year-old having fun, just living my dream,” he said. “And it’s possible for anyone to live theirs.” Hot on the heels of his movie’s premiere, Bieber will be performing at Sunday’s Grammy Awards , where he promises “some surprises.” He’s been nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album.
