Apollo Nida is nearing plea deal with the government just two months after his arrest for identity theft, bank fraud, and conspiracy charges, reports indicate. Will that be enough to keep The Real Housewives of Atlanta star out of jail? As is the case with fellow Bravo star Teresa Giudice, all of this remains unclear. Nida, Phaedra Parks’ husband and the guy Kenya Moore wants to bone ( watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta online for more on that), was arrested in January. On February 14, the court set a pre-trial date of March 25. Since that time, his attorneys “and counsel for the government have been engaged in discussions,” newly filed court documents obtained by Radar reveal. “They are still in the process of investigating additional facts and negotiating a resolution,” and “have made substantial progress toward a resolution.” Does that mean he’ll cop a plea and avoid the slammer? It’s not yet known, but the court agreed to yet another extension, up until April 25, in the hopes that Apollo Nida will be able to come to a deal with the government. The new extension ensures he will have “sufficient time to consult with his counsel, investigate all material, and continue said discussions with the government.” Think he’ll skate? Should he? Earlier today, Teresa Giudice pleaded guilty to a series of fraud charges. According to various reports, she now faces 21 to 27 months behind bars, while husband Joe Giudice – who also pleaded guilty inside a Newark courthouse – could be in jail for up to 46 months. Not long after arriving at this plea bargain, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star released a statement. “Today, I took responsibility for a series of mistakes I made several years ago,” Giudice said. “I have said throughout that I respect the legal process and thus I intend to address the court directly at sentencing. “I will describe the choices I made, continue to take responsibility for my decisions, and express my remorse to Judge Salas and the public.” Teresa and Joe will be sentenced on an unannounced date. The Giudices, meanwhile, are parents to four daughters: Gia, 13, Gabriella, 11, Milania, 9, and Audriana, 5. “I am heartbroken that this is affecting my family — especially my four young daughters, who mean more to me than anything in the world,” Teresa added. “Beyond this, I do not intend to speak specifically about the case outside of court, at the recommendation of my attorney and out of deference to the government and our legal system.” But Teresa is attuned to the outside world, despite her personal woes. The sister-in-laws – who have gone at each other hard for many seasons on The Real Housewives of New Jersey – enjoyed a holiday dinner together over the weekend, with Gorga posting a photo of the event on Twitter and writing that the meal “makes me smile.” “You will NOT see any Teresa and Melissa fights this season on RHONJ. Those feuds are over,” an insider tells Radar. Signs of tension easing between Gorga and Giudice were there in August when the former said she has Teresa’s back , with Teresa and her husband facing 50 years in prison for fraud and other financial charges. Just a month prior to that, however, Gorga went off on Giudice for not defending her against cheating allegations. Amber Portwood is looking good these days, and not just because she’s no longer forced to wear an orange jumpsuit and can sleep without fear of being shanked. The reformed Teen Mom is celebrating her freedom by creating a new look for herself, and it’s a great one! Check out the difference in hair and makeup: After serving 17 months behind bars, Portwood was released from prison earlier in November, and quickly ditched her previous “mug shot” makeup. Her post-prison makeover definitely gives her a softer look. Amber Portwood recently reunited with daughter Leah and baby daddy Gary Shirley (not in the romantic sense) and is trying to get her life together. So far, so good, and we can only hope she keeps this up. She also got herself some new clothes (hopefully not at Aeropostale), and no longer uses homemade, prison-style hairspray. Now, facing the possibility of decades behind bars, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star has hired Wendy Feldman of Custodial Coaching. She describes herself to Us Weekly as a “legal coach and crisis manager,” which are both jobs that apparently exist. Feldman herself spent nearly a year-and-half in prison for securities fraud and has advised other famous clients (such as Lindsay Lohan) during their trials and tribulations. Considering the numerous charges against Giudice, is Feldman on board to prepare this reality star for a long jail sentence? “I have not been hired to prepare either Teresa or Joe Guidice for prison,” Feldman tells Us. “In fact, most of my work is well-known as crisis management oriented. In addition, I am known as director of alternative sentencing at Cliffside Malibu where Ms. Lohan recently was. However, I am acting as the legal coach and crisis manager only for Teresa Giudice.” Teresa Giudice Facing New Fraud Charges Teresa and Joe Giudice were indicted Monday on two new counts of fraud, bringing the total number up to 41. Said Teresa’s attorney in a statement: “As she did with respect to the allegations contained in the original indictment, Teresa intends to plead ‘not guilty’ to the allegations in the new indictment. “She looks forward to defending herself at the trial, scheduled for February 24, 2014. Beyond that, we will answer all of the charges in court, not out.”

Authorities released few details about the deaths, but a relative said the couple had experienced marital problems. Arlington police Chief Frederick Ryan said police weren’t looking for any suspects and there was no reason for the public to be alarmed, but he didn’t elaborate. “We’re quite certain that the community is safe and people can go out and go about their business this evening,” he said. An officer found the bodies in the two-family home in a quiet residential neighborhood in Arlington, just northwest of Boston, around noon. Authorities did not say how long they had been there. “This is obviously a very troubling, very tragic situation,” Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan said. Ryan identified the dead as Scott Jones and his wife, Mei Kum Jones, both 43, and their sons, Colt and Cameron, who would’ve turned a year old on Nov. 26. Prayers go out to their families.
