Or at least it seems that way, based on a number of trademarks the artists filed last week to make sure no one else could profit off the use of those names in nearly any way. Beyonce and Jay Z are already parents to a girl named Blue Ivy, whose name at the time of her birth took most fans by confused surprised. But Sir and Rumi?!? How did the superstars even come up with those? Sir , the reported name given to the newborn boy, is of English origin. It’s typically reserved to important people who have received the honor of being knighted in Great Britain, such as Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Anthony Hopkins. It almost sounds like someone’s chosen rapper nickname, right? Sir Carter . You can see a musician performing under that moniker, can’t you? It certainly highlights Jay Z’s given last name and perhaps speaks to the career he hopes his won takes up in a couple decades. No pressure on you, Sir. One of the most successful rappers of all-time simply wants you to follow in his awe-inspiring footsteps. What about Rumi ? Some folks out there are drawing comparisons to the 13th-century Persian poet of the same name, whose work has influenced the arts for many generations. His first name was Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rumi and he’s a best-selling writer in the United States. (Actress Josie Maran, it’s perhaps worth noting, welcomed a daughter named Rumi in 2006.) Moreover, the name is also used in Japan, where it means “beauty,” “current, “flow” and “water.” Interesting, right? Neither Beyonce nor Jay Z has commented on these supposed names. Heck, they haven’t commented at all when it comes to their kids. As far as we’ve heard, Beyonce gave birth prematurely, which resulted in a minor medical issue that kept the kids in the hospital for several days. But they’re resting comfortably at a very large rented home in Malibu now, according to various insiders, where Beyonce and Jay Z are very tired and very happy. The official cause of Bill Paxton’s death has been revealed following the 61-year-old acting great’s tragic passing two weekends ago. Paxton died February 25 at Los Angeles’ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, as confirmed by his family. Now we know the reasons why. According to the death certificate, obtained by TMZ, his death triggered by an aneurysm that required surgery which resulted in a stroke. Paxton had just undergone valve replacement surgery to correct an aortic aneurysm problem, and complications arose from the operation. Eleven days later, he suffered the fatal stroke. The death certificate states that Bill had the surgery on February 14 and died on February 25, which is consistent with his family’s statement. “It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery,” the family said then. Having left this world far too soon, he leaves behind a legacy in film and TV that ranks him among the all-time greats in his profession. “Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable,” the statement continued. His passion for the arts was matched by fans’ passion for his work in them, as evidenced by his impressive, almost underrated resume. Tombstone, Apollo 13 , and A Simple Plan are just a few of Bill’s movie roles that have enjoyed immense popularity throughout the years. Paxton was also a highly regarded TV actor, especially within the last decade, when he starred on HBO’s polygamy drama Big Love . On top of five seasons headlining that series, Paxton was also nominated an Emmy Award for 2012’s The Hatfields and the McCoys . He was starring in CBS’ Training Day at the time of his death. The native Texan’s first brush with fame was entirely accidental; Bill witnessed the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963. A photo of an eight-year-old Bill being lifted onto his dad’s shoulders still hangs in a museum commemorating the life and death of JFK. As an aspiring actor, he played a number of low-budget, bit film roles upon moving to Hollywood before landing his big break in a 1980s classic. Bill met a young director named James Cameron on the set of The Terminator , and a part in that film is what allowed his career to take off. Their relationship grew, and Paxton went on to star in some of Cameron’s best-known films, including the box office behemoth Titanic . No film had made nearly as much money as the 1997 love story – a classic two decades later and still among the highest-grossing ever. At the time of his stunning death over the weekend , Bill Paxton was starring in Training Day, a lackluster drama on CBS. Over the course of his impressive career, the actor was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards due to his performance on HBO’s Big Love. To many, however, Paxton will be best remembered for his role in 1996’s Twister, an action movie in which Paxton starred opposite Helen Hunt as a professional storm chaser. It is against this backdrop that hundreds of real-life storm chasers paid tribute to Paxton on Sunday. They spelled out the veteran actor’s initials (“BP”) using GPS coordinates on a map across the “tornado alley” in Kansas and Oklahoma. The “tornado alley” boundaries are not clearly defined, but it spreads across 19 states. According to John Wetter, who works with the National Weather Service, storm chasers have never before spelled out the initials of a non –storm chaser before. But the gesture symbolizes what kind of influence Paxton and Twister had on this profession. “There are probably hundreds, if not thousands, of meteorologists today – myself included – who were impacted by the movie Twister and the role Bill played in that,” Wetter told the Associated Press, adding: “Twister was kind of the first time in a mass media place the meteorologist became cool, if only for a little while.” Paxton passed away on Saturday following complications from heart surgery. It is believed he suffered a stroke. “A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker,” his rep said in a statement soon afterward. “Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their adored husband and father.” The actor is survived by his wife, Louise Newbury, and two children James and Lydia. He was honored at the 89th Annual Academy Awards during the In Memoriam segment on Sunday night, although not in the video itself because his death took place just 24 hours before the show aired.
